It's always two steps forward and one step back with every Ubuntu release, isn't it? I don't care about the technicalities about whether it's Gnome, Canonical or Stallman who's responsible for introducing this bug. All I know is that it says Ubuntu on the package, and the maintainers of Ubuntu should put an effort into maintaining a level of functionality that Ubuntu users have been accustomed to. Luckily there was an easy fix for this, but it's still extremely annoying that one has to browse the web after every distupgrade in order to restore normal behaviour and functionality. I put in my yahoo/flickr username and password, but flickr decided to do some extra validation (probably because this is a different 'browser'). It showed me a captcha (which i passed), then asked me a security question, or offered to send an email. But, inside shotwell, I can't scroll down to click on the 'send verification email' button. i have the same issue i think. since upgrading to raring my gmail account credentials have been broken. i now get GDBus.Error:org.gnome.OnlineAccounts.Error.NotAuthorized: Did not find password with username `m...@amias.net' in credentials when checking mail. i can't remove or edit the account from evolution because its some kind of dbus thing. i tried removing and restoring the account from online accounts in System settings but no change. i tried to edit the passwords in seahorse but couldn't make any sense of it and was somewhat shocked that it shows the passwords without needing any password to unlock. Ubuntu better. This issue has been fixed upstream and adding new
separators now work as expected in alacarte 3.5.5-0ubuntu1.1 available
in Ubuntu 12.10 and later releases. Thus, I am closing this bug as
fixed.
However, it seems to still be present in Ubuntu 12.04 and earlier
releases, so if you need a fix for the bug in previous versions of
Ubuntu, please follow the instructions for Requesting a Backport at

I am now running both the current Luicid and Precise distributions. With neither of them am I having any browsing problems at thee moment. At the same time staff are bringing in some Win8 machines and finding that these browse the net unreliably. Even with my Nautilus settings removed, after adding (just) 2GB of files (101785 items) to my Templates directory my Nautilus became unbearably slow to a point of becoming unresponsive. After I moved these same files to Documents directory Nautilus went back to normal. I believe this was problem all along, as I would always add same files to my Templates directory.
