[Bug 1167869] Re: [keymap] Dell Latitude D830: hibernate key

2013-05-22 Thread Martin Pitt
scan code: 0x8A key code: suspend

That seems right. Unfortunately the naming between the kernel, X.org,
and other places is horribly inconsistent. The kernel knows KEY_SUSPEND,
which means hibernate (suspend to disk), and KEY_SLEEP, which means
suspend to RAM.

I guess the reason for the key not doing anything is that hibernate is
disabled by default in Ubuntu. If you want to re-enable it, you can do
that in

  sudo gedit
/var/lib/polkit-1/localauthority/10-vendor.d/com.ubuntu.desktop.pkla

and remove the [Disable hibernate by default ...] block (there is one
for upower, and one for logind if you are running Ubuntu saucy already).

2013-05-22 Thread Leonardo Donelli
Still an issue on Ubuntu 13.04, gEdit 3.6.2
There's a patch upstream by a gEdit developer, almost 3 years old. It works,
but another developer said he doesn't like it (code-style-wise). Maybe we
could implement it as Debian patch while we wait for an upstream solution?

[Bug 1164016] Re: restore type-ahead find

2013-05-22 Thread Marco Lackovic
I also find the removal of type-ahead very frustrating. I think an
option to re-enable it should be available.

In my opinion the previous behavior was more intuitive: if I wanted to
search fo something I would have used the search function at hand.
Before it was possible to discern the two things, (1) go to the
file/folder in the current folder, (2) search for a file/folder in the
current folders and subfolders. Now only option (2) is possible.

As a workaround, I followed the following suggestion and installed Nemo:

[Bug 1182540] [NEW] lxc smoke test, test_lxc_apparmor appears to hang on saucy VM

2013-05-22 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

The root of the problem as pertains to lxc is that debootstrap is
resulting in a udev being started as a child of debootstrap. In
particular:

( flock -x 200; debootstrap saucy xxx; ) 200/tmp/zzz
after this completes, /proc/locks will show that /tmp/zzz is still locked;
udev will be running; and a subsequent
( flock -x 200 ) 200/tmp/zzz
will hang.

The saucy smoke test for lxc test_lxc_apparmor appears to be hung with saucy
installations of 20130521.

The following tests appear to have completed successfully.
- test: test_lxc_reboot
- test: test_lxc_simple
- test: test_lxc_api

Steps to reproduce:
1. Install a default saucy server on a vm (either manually or preseeded
default installation) with either i386 or amd64 image using KVM, libvirt
2. Do the following to install utah inside the VM
   sudo apt-add-repository -y ppa:utah/stable
   sudo apt-get update
   sudo apt-get install utah
3. Run the lxc tests using
 sudo utah -r lp:ubuntu-test-cases/server/runlists/lxc.run

[Bug 1173966] Re: Nautilus bookmarks for smb shares disappear

2013-05-22 Thread bwat47
With the same version of nautilus (3.6.3) and gvfs (1.16) in arch linux
I do not see the disappearing share issue at all. I also do not see it
on a raring live usb, but when I clean install raring and update the bug
re-appears. I am convinced that this is not an upstream bug, and that
its causes by some sort of ubuntu patch or backport to these backages
that was introduced in a post release update.

[Bug 1181454] Re: empathy-accounts crashes on launch

2013-05-22 Thread Miklos Juhasz
This is caused by Google adding support for the URL vCard
field, which telepathy-gabble doesn't think is supported or exists.

I attached the links to the freedesktop and debian bug.

This is fixed in telepathy itself by this commit:
http://cgit.collabora.com/git/user/xclaesse/telepathy-
gabble.git/commit/?id=57e62a7871be3209fca3046aaf99cdd055fef59d

Someone will have to backport this.

[Bug 903422] Re: Ubuntu does not work with Samsung Galaxy phones (Unable to open raw device 0)

2013-05-22 Thread Derek Simkowiak
There was recently a change to the adb tool. It now does authentication;
the user is prompted to allow a new computer when the phone is
connected to it. The old adb is not compatible.

This change is probably why it fails, even though MTP on the Samsung
Galaxy Nexus previously worked.

I used the new adb (with the authentication) to manually push files.
That worked fine. Trying the other forum posts (like changing the udev
rules) did not work for me.

It was very aggravating to get the cool new phone (Nexus 4) and then not
be able to transfer files to it.

[Bug 907311] Re: Not exiting properly? An instance of Brasero is already running, exiting

2013-05-22 Thread emptythevoid
I've been dealing with this bug since 12.04. I just freshly installed
13.04 64-bit on my main machine and if I double-click on an ISO and
Brasero opens to burn it, even if I just cancel out of that window,
brasero remains running and does not exit on it's own. This prevents
being able to open brasero again until one kills the running instance.
This is a show-stopper. Seriously needs to be fixed, or change the
default app for burning ISOs.

[Bug 1075923] Re: nautilus hangs copying large directories from a samba share

2013-05-22 Thread Thijs
I'm also having troubles when using applications (like Eye of Gnome,
Libre Office, Nemo and Nautilus) in combination with files on a smb
share (via gvfs). Usually when the application hangs up it also becomes
unkillable, so for the most part it requires a logout or reboot to fix
the problem. Needless to say that working files is a major part of
computing and smb shares are very common, so imo this should take
priority.

[Bug 378783] [NEW] xdg-open *.desktop opens text editor

2013-05-22 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

Binary package hint: xdg-utils

In order to reproduce it execute xdg-open *.desktop (choose any
.desktop file, e.g. one from /usr/share/applications). Actually your
favorite text editor will open the file. Expected result: It'll be
executed.

Because of this bug, desktop entries with the new #!/usr/bin/env xdg-
open shebang feature were opened in the text editor when executed from
command line.

2013-05-22 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker

I also tried using dconf-editor to change org.gnome.settings-

[Bug 904505] Re: Flash doesn't work in WebKitGTK3 browsers

2013-05-22 Thread Julian Alarcon
About this, seem taht GNOME Web (also know as Epiphany) 3.8 switched to
WebKit2 and Flash is now working.

This is not a workaround, but a new kind of solution.

[Bug 1180513] Re: lid close actions are ignored laptop always suspends

2013-05-22 Thread Martin Pitt
This seems to be somewhere between logind and g-s-d power. logind is
only supposed to handle the lid and power button by itself if no user
session is running/active (e. g. if you are on a VT). I suspect we need
to backport the new handling from g-s-d 3.8, I'll look into this.
