[Bug 1167869] Re: [keymap] Dell Latitude D830: hibernate key
scan code: 0x8A key code: suspend That seems right. Unfortunately the naming between the kernel, X.org, and other places is horribly inconsistent. The kernel knows KEY_SUSPEND, which means hibernate (suspend to disk), and KEY_SLEEP, which means suspend to RAM. I guess the reason for the key not doing anything is that hibernate is disabled by default in Ubuntu. If you want to re-enable it, you can do that in sudo gedit /var/lib/polkit-1/localauthority/10-vendor.d/com.ubuntu.desktop.pkla and remove the [Disable hibernate by default ...] block (there is one for upower, and one for logind if you are running Ubuntu saucy already). ** Changed in: systemd (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed = Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to systemd in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1167869 Title: [keymap] Dell Latitude D830: hibernate key To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/systemd/+bug/1167869/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1164016] Re: restore type-ahead find
I also find the removal of type-ahead very frustrating. I think an option to re-enable it should be available. In my opinion the previous behavior was more intuitive: if I wanted to search fo something I would have used the search function at hand. Before it was possible to discern the two things, (1) go to the file/folder in the current folder, (2) search for a file/folder in the current folders and subfolders. Now only option (2) is possible. [Bug 903422] Re: Ubuntu does not work with Samsung Galaxy phones (Unable to open raw device 0)
There was recently a change to the adb tool. It now does authentication; the user is prompted to allow a new computer when the phone is connected to it. The old adb is not compatible. This change is probably why it fails, even though MTP on the Samsung Galaxy Nexus previously worked. I used the new adb (with the authentication) to manually push files. That worked fine. Trying the other forum posts (like changing the udev rules) did not work for me. It was very aggravating to get the cool new phone (Nexus 4) and then not be able to transfer files to it. [Bug 907311] Re: Not exiting properly? An instance of Brasero is already running, exiting
I've been dealing with this bug since 12.04. I just freshly installed 13.04 64-bit on my main machine and if I double-click on an ISO and Brasero opens to burn it, even if I just cancel out of that window, brasero remains running and does not exit on it's own. This prevents being able to open brasero again until one kills the running instance. This is a show-stopper. I'm also having troubles when using applications (like Eye of Gnome, Libre Office, Nemo and Nautilus) in combination with files on a smb share (via gvfs). [Bug 1180513] [NEW] lid close actions are ignored laptop always suspends
You have been subscribed to a public bug: I tried setting Power - 'When lid is closed' to 'do nothing', closed lid and laptop suspended. I also tried using dconf-editor to change org.gnome.settings- daemon.plugins.power.lid-close-{ac,battery}-action to both nothing and blank both suspended. Both tests were done on AC power. [Bug 904505] Re: Flash doesn't work in WebKitGTK3 browsers
About this, seem taht GNOME Web (also know as Epiphany) 3.8 switched to WebKit2 and Flash is now working. [Bug 1180513] Re: lid close actions are ignored laptop always suspends
This seems to be somewhere between logind and g-s-d power. logind is only supposed to handle the lid and power button by itself if no user session is running/active (e. g. if you are on a VT). I suspect we need to backport the new handling from g-s-d 3.8, I'll look into this. ** Package changed: linux (Ubuntu) = gnome-settings-daemon (Ubuntu) ** Changed in: gnome-settings-daemon (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed = Triaged ** Changed in: gnome-settings-daemon (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) = Martin Pitt (pitti) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-settings-daemon in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1180513 Title: lid close actions are ignored laptop always suspends To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-settings-daemon/+bug/1180513/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
