[Bug 911269] Re: evolution-exchange is ignoring already translated menu-items (Permissions..., Berechtigungen...)

2013-05-23 Thread Hendrik Knackstedt
I think you have to run the setup-utility and configure an exchange
server. Otherwise Evolution won't even notice the extension. That's the
reason why I cannot test it, because I don't have access to a valid
exchange server.

Nevertheless, this bug is fixed upstream and if the package got removed
from Ubuntu anyway there is not much sense in trying to get this fixed
for Precise since the chances are very low that a fix will ever be
released (would need a SRU and translation bugs usually don't apply to
this).

If this is still a problem for anybody using Precise I suggest to
install the package manually.

Closing as Fix Released since Upstream fix is available.

2013-05-23 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

When working with some applications, after you switch between
application the window of the firt application disappears and can't be
reached again, although through ps command you can see that the
application is still running.

For example:
1.- Open DIA in Ubuntu 12.04 under Unity 3D
2.- Change window (go to Firefox, for example)
3.- Try to switch again to DIA (you can't)
4.- ps -elaf | grep dia (you'll see the application is still running)

This have happened with many applications, as DIA, pgAdminIII, rapidsvn.
Altought it doesn't happen with Firefox, Chromium, LibreOffice or
Nautilus.

[Bug 627195] Re: Window management - Apps raised from indicators sometimes dont have the focus

2013-05-23 Thread Treviño
** Description changed:

  Ubuntu 11.10 beta
  compiz 1:0.9.5.94+bzr2803-0ubuntu5
  unity 4.16.0-0ubuntu1

  1. open banshee, start a song in it and minimize
  2. open another application lets say gnome-terminal
  3. click on the sound menu and select banshee

  What happens
banshee icon in the launcher wiggles and banshee main window is not shown

  What should happen
banshee main window should come to focus

This is a long standing bug which Ted Gould thinks should be fixed at
  window manager's level.

  Some other observations=
  The problem wont happen
  1. if every other app is minimized or
  2. Banshee is the only opened app or
  3. after opening gnome-terminal, banshee window is closed so that it hides to
the SoundMenu and opened again

  =Comment from Ted Gould=
om26er tedg, Hi! any thoughts on the long standing bug 627195 ? Its been
there before unity so I guess we can conclude unity not to be responsible

tedg om26er, My thought is that window managers should $%#$ get
fixed... though I haven't convinced smspillaz of it yet.

  =The good rule=
3v1n0: Indicators should present the application windows by passing to them
the timestamp of the menu item activation event.

Unfortunately for indicator-sound, this is not trival as it sounds, since it
needs a change to the MPRIS dbus specification.
  See comment https://bugs.launchpad.net/ayatana-design/+bug/627195/comments/26
for more informations.

For what concerns libappindicator based indicators (such as the one used by
tomboy), since it's not currently possible in libdbusmenu to pass the event
during activation (so that clients will be able to get the proper timestamp
using gtk_get_current_event_time), there are two hackish ways:
  1. Use the server time to present a window:
+    https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=688830
  2. Get the event timestamp from the dbus-menu linked to the gtk-menus:
+    http://paste.ubuntu.com/5701235/
+ 3. Qt applications workaround: http://is.gd/WnW9eN

Window managers will obey to it.

[Bug 1183360] [NEW] rsvg-convert generates incorrect pdf for open paths with aligned ends

2013-05-23 Thread Robin Tregaskis
Public bug reported:

Create a simple svg with an open ended path e.g. '[' shape:

svg version=1.1 width=420mm height=297mm viewBox=0 0 420 297
xmlns=http://www.w3.org/2000/svg; xmlns:xlink=http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink;
path stroke-width=1 stroke=red fill=none d=M5,5 L25,5 L25,30 L5,30/
/svg

Pass through rsvg-convert with following options:
 rsvg-convert -f pdf -o bug.pdf bug.svg

observe pdf renders image as a closed box.

The same thing happens if I use imkscape to do the conversion (I am led to
believe that Inkscape uses librsvg2 under the hood?)
 inkscape bug.svg --export-pdf=bug.pdf

I have librsvg2 version 2.36.1-0ubuntu1 on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS

[Bug 185928] Re: Pressing Space key should toggle play/pause (pause when playing; play when paused)

2013-05-23 Thread Jamie Macdonald
I haven't read the implementation for gnome accessibility w/ space bar,
but could I suggest that the selection order of the widgets be changed
so that play/pause widget is the first selected on window focus?

Then, so long as the user does not hit Tab while in the application,
space bar will be play/pause as expected by (many?) at least me and OP.

We could even go so far as physically swapping the (previous track)
widget and the (play/pause) widget? At this point, it would be a design
issue.

[Bug 1179180] Re: Impossible to open Empathy contact list window if already started with '-h' option

2013-05-23 Thread PJSingh5000
I'm able to reproduce this...

1. Make sure Empathy is not running. If it is running quit it, or kill it from
the system monitor.
2. In a terminal, start empathy using the start hidden option, as follows:
$ empathy -h
3. Notice that empathy is now running in system moitor.
4. From the messaging menu indicator applet, select Empathy.
5. The Empathy Contact List window does *not* appear, as expected.
6. Now try to start Empathy from the Unity Dash.
7. Again, the Empathy Contact List window does not appear, as expected.
8. Notice that empathy is still running in the background in system moitor.

[Bug 1031449] Re: rhythmbox leaking memory

2013-05-23 Thread Benjamin Bach
Dear package maintainers -- please be our heroes and fix this :)

Memory leaks were fixed in Rhythmbox 2.97 and 2.98 as noted in #976534.
I'm currently running RB 2.97 from ubuntuupdates.org and it works
without leaks.

This was my result before:

PID USER PR NI VIRT RES SHR S %CPU %MEMTIME+ COMMAND
28905 username 20 0 1978m 1.4g 15m S 39 35.4 33:44.59 rhythmbox

This is my result using the webupd8team PPA:

10545 username 20 0 550m 103m 20m S4 2.6 52:17.58 rhythmbox

As you can see, even after running for almost twice as long, it uses
only 2.6% memory, and before it was sipping some 35%.

The following upstream report mentions a lot of commits with memory leak
fixes -- perhaps they could be targeted for backporting.

[Bug 1183627] [NEW] GDM is unresponsive to input

Public bug reported:

I just updated to Ubuntu 13.10 from a fresh install of 13.04. I
immediately went into 'Terminal' and issued 'sudo apt-get install gnome-

after completion I restart my laptop. Upon boot it successfully loads
into a GDM session. The pointer is visible and moves normally with the
mouse. Unfortunately GDM is completely unresponsive to clicks or

[Bug 1174211] Re: Mouse settings are missing for wireless mice in Ubuntu 13.04

Having the same problem with Logitech corded mouse. From what I
understand from other sources, the mouse sensitivity and mouse
acceleration values have been merged. Since when did Linux start taking
away options instead of giving options? Having no ability to disable
mouse acceleration is a complete dealbreaker for an otherwise nice and
snappy distro.

Hey guys I have found a workaround with this command:
obexftp -b [address of the phone] -p file.ext

Notes : You need obexftp to be installed
: You need to know the address of your phone or bluetooth device by
this command:
   hcitool scan
: The address should be in this format xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx

PS : Correct me if I'm wrong still at 14
