[Bug 663146] Re: Rapidly creating/renaming new folders leads to confusing could not be renamed message

2013-05-31 Thread Scott Ritchie
Still live in 13.04, except now it's easier to trigger, because by
default when you make a new folder it has the name highlighted for
renaming.

The error message is now: There is no in this location. Perhaps it
was just moved or deleted?

[Bug 1079246] Re: gvfsd-smb hangs and needs to be killed

2013-05-31 Thread gouri
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1075923 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1075923

I'm questioning the duplicate status of this bug.

I experienced exactly the symptoms described in the present bug-report
#1079246, that is reading from a gvfs-mounted directory. Whatever the
way to read (nautilus or other, even ls) all hang the same way until I
kill the process. Hang occurs even when copying from a small share a
directory containing for a handful of small files, even without
subdirectory, for a total of 1Mb (not tested for other cases).

On the other hand, bug-report #1075923 describes nautilus copying
large directories, a few GB.

These two bugs describe different conditions.

I see two policies here :
* we claim that it's the same bug, confirm that #1079246 is a duplicate, and
adjust title of #1075923 to widen its scope and include scope of #1079246
* we claim that these are different bugs and suppress duplicate status.

Regards,

[Bug 663146] Re: Rapidly creating/renaming new folders leads to confusing could not be renamed message

2013-05-31 Thread dino99
Hi Scott,
is that issue seen with raring got with the hardware as the initial report ?
That was with gnome2 and raring is gnome3, so the app/libs are so different now.
maybe its an hardware issue (keyboard or else), that should be narrowed down
running: sudo fwts for example.

as that report has never catch the devs attention, i doubt it will grab
a better one now without giving proof of trouble.

[Bug 1180380] Re: Screen locking issue

2013-05-31 Thread Marc Deslauriers
Thank you for using Ubuntu and taking the time to report a bug. Your
report should contain, at a minimum, the following information so we can
better find the source of the bug and work to resolve it.

Submitting the bug about the proper source package is essential. For
help see https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage . Additionally,
in the report please include:

1) The release of Ubuntu you are using, via 'cat /etc/lsb-release' or System -
About Ubuntu.
2) The version of the package you are using, via 'dpkg -l PKGNAME | cat' or by
checking in Synaptic.
3) What happened and what you expected to happen.

The Ubuntu community has also created debugging procedures for a wide
variety of packages at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures .
Following the debugging instructions for the affected package will make
your bug report much more complete. Thanks!

[Bug 1164263] Re: user-specific and possible private files are written to a global location

2013-05-31 Thread Marc Deslauriers
I have reproduced this with an iPod in saucy.

Caused by this upsteam commit:

http://cgit.sukimashita.com/libimobiledevice.git/commit/src?id=825da48d2e9c20086c4e34869da0b28376676b4c

I don't believe there's anything confidential in that directory though,
it seems to simply consist of the device's public key, which anyone can
pull off the device, and a set of user-specific generated keys for
communication.
