[Bug 885592] Re: No parent folder button in Nautilus
This bug _is_ still present, and its a _real_ bug. for example: If you have logged in to a remote directory over SSH with nautilus, you will usually end in your homedirectory WITHOUT an easy solution to go up to / Every morning when i log in at work i am bugged by this, every fucking morning. bugged by some smartypants thinking:i dont need it = noone needs it. Yes, i know i can press alt+L and then manipulate the address bar as i like, or press alt+up, but hey, whats the point in designing a gui when its not fully useable without keyboard? thats just bad design. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to nautilus in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/885592 Title: No parent folder button in Nautilus To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/nautilus/+bug/885592/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1192445] Re: Possible bug copying/moving big files with nautilus 3.4.2
nor directly cause loss of data I disagree Imagine you move a file with very important data from one filesystem to another, and the data you have copied is not the same than the original data, isn't that a loss of data, is it? Has happened to me a lot of times that i've moved a big file to another fs and the result isn't the same as the source and because of the move operation i've lost the source... isn't that a loss of data? The file moved is quite similar to the original, but not identical as it would be. From now on i am using the mv command or the mc for these tasks because i no longer trust the nautilus. [Bug 980710] Re: black font on black background in xfce terminal
For some unknown reason, this problem showed up on my system recently (XFCE / Ubuntu 12.04.2 LTS system with all updates). Deleting ~/.config/xfce4/xfconf/xfce-perchannel-xml/xsettings.xml and logging in again didn't fix it for me. (See #7) That file contains property name=ThemeName type=empty/ so I don't know what theme is being used. I don't particularly want to specify a theme. Another silly thing: the launcher uses gnome-terminal when you select Debian X Terminal Emulator as your preferred terminal emulator. (See Applications Menu: Settings: Preferred Applications: Utilities: Terminal Emulator) My avoid-the-problem solution is to select xterm as the Preferred Terminal Emulator. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-terminal in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/980710 Title: black font on black background in xfce terminal To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-terminal/+bug/980710/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1192826] [NEW] totem.desktop description Videos is so vague as to be useless
Public bug reported: The .desktop file installed with totem in Xubuntu 13.04 has the application name Videos. There are several problems with this: - It is not the name of the application. - It does not describe the purpose of the application. - It refers to only one kind of document that the application can handle. - It does not indicate that it can only play those documents, not modify or create them. - It does not distinguish itself from all the other applications that can handle the same documents. In short, it is so vague and ambiguous as to be confusing; basically less than useless. This is an issue in application launcher menus, MIME document associations, and in the open with application... context menus of certain file managers. In order to save unsuspecting users from madness, I suggest the .desktop file's Name field be updated to something like Totem Movie Player or Media Player (Totem). ** Affects: totem (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to totem in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1192826 Title: totem.desktop description Videos is so vague as to be useless To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/totem/+bug/1192826/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
