[Bug 1004515] Re: segfault in accounts-daemon when logging in / gdm crash if user account is added or deleted
** Description changed: - I noticed this in my logs. It's not obviously broken anything, but - segfaults are bad so I thought it worth reporting. + [Impact] + libaccountsservice contains a double free which under certain circumstances will cause accounts-daemon to segfault, and under other circumstances will cause gdm to segfault when a user account is added or removed. + + [Test case] + In a precise machine with kerberos authentication, adding a new user via sudo adduser test will cause an X session running under GDM to crash with a segfault. + + Once the patch is applied, running the same command line should not + affect a running X session. For the test to have value, the session + needs to have been started after the new accountsservice packages were + installed. + + [Possible regressions] + This is just one line removing a double free that has been applied upstream for 16 months, so the code itself should be fine. To be certain that everything is alright, not only gdm but also lightdm should be tested. + + [Original description] + I noticed this in my logs. [Bug 1075923] Re: nautilus hangs copying large directories from a samba share
Bug exists with Thunar in 13.04 64-bit up-to-date Xubuntu. The bug likely also crashes libreoffice (3.x and 4.x) when it wants to save a file that you opened on the samba share. Workaround for that: save on the local drive and copy to the share afterwards. That may not work, but at least you'll have your document. NB mount workaround will be a problem if you do not have root privileges. Then try FTP, or if you have dual boot save to a place where Windows can access your data. Then reboot and use Windows to copy to the shared drive. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gvfs in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1075923 Title: nautilus hangs copying large directories from a samba share To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gvfs/+bug/1075923/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1198179] Re: Systemd package is missing the executable to use systemd
Yes, I consider this a wontfix. An Ubuntu system won't come even close to booting correctly with systemd as init, and fixing this would be a distraction. systemd should just be kept out of Ubuntu to make this unambiguous. ** Changed in: systemd (Ubuntu) Status: New = Won't Fix -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to systemd in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1198179 Title: Systemd package is missing the executable to use systemd To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/systemd/+bug/1198179/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1199074] Re: Saucy - cannot uninstall gnome-screensaver because it wants to uninstall gnome-session-flashback also.
The problem is that gnome-screensaver is listed in the RequiredComponents for GNOME Flashback. We should first check whether that's actually necessary for Flashback to work with gnome-screensaver. It it is, I think it's possible to use Debian's alternative system to have a generic screensaver package that could be listed in RequiredComponents and then have gnome-session-flashback depend on any one of the packages that provide the generic screensaver functionality. ** Package changed: ubuntu = gnome-panel (Ubuntu) ** Changed in: gnome-panel (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided = Low ** Changed in: gnome-panel (Ubuntu) Status: New = Triaged -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-panel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1199074 Title: Saucy - cannot uninstall gnome-screensaver because it wants to uninstall gnome-session-flashback also. [Bug 1197687] Re: setting fucntions cannot be started from control-center
I do the test on July 4th UbuntuKylin daily build image and the steps are follow: (1) Open the System Settings and the setting functions except DateTime are can be started normally . (2) Then open the date-time indicator and choose the DateTime Settings, the time setting cannot be started and the control-center main windows appears. (3) After that, the gnome-control-center window cannot be closed. Meanwhile when I choose any one function in control-center, it will return back to the main window of control-center. So the problem maybe caused by indicator date-time, then I reported a bug #1197662 to indicator date-time. the indicator date-time version is : 12.10.3+13.10.20130703.1-0ubuntu1 the gnome-control-center version is: 1:3.6.3-0ubuntu29 In the latest daily build image, the problem seems to be resolved and the versions are follow: indicator date-time : 12.10.3+13.10.20130708-0ubuntu1 gnome-control-center: 1:3.6.3-0ubuntu30 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-control-center in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1197687 Title: setting fucntions cannot be started from control-center To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gnome-control-center/+bug/1197687/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
