[Bug 1213342] [NEW] gnome power manager : do nothing if battery critical
Public bug reported: The Standard choice within a freshly installed Ubuntu is to: Do nothing if the battery reaches critical low level. This choice already killed 3 of my batteries, because I forgot to change this to shut down. Then the laptop rund until the Battery was totally empty, which (especially in case of already slightly olde batteries) killed them. I can understand the need, that you in special usecases would like to have this. But it is just too dangerous for the hardwares of the ubuntu users to have do nothing activated as standard option. ** Affects: gnome-power-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-power-manager in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1213342 Title: gnome power manager : do nothing if battery critical To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-power-manager/+bug/1213342/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1213457] [NEW] [REGRESSION 13.04] Most of Nautilus menus are gone
Public bug reported: I realize this is obviously by design, but there's no good reason for such a design which is plain wrong, so it has to be reverted. Nautilus used to have a normal menu similar to most applications: File, Edit, View... Now it only has a Files menu (where Files is the new shown name for Nautilus, formerly known as Home Directory and god knows what will be its name in the next release, consistently with Ubuntu's absurd obsession of changing the most basic programs' names and always hide the real name, in this case Nautilus). Why isn't there any more, for example, an Edit menu with a Copy, Paste, Cut, etc items? Of course all those things can be done in other ways, but since we're going to have a menu bar on the top of the screen anyway, it's nonsensical to remove from it all the menus one expects to find, consistently with all applications. Also, that was a place where one could se the keyboard shortcuts associated to each action. Or name one single good reason for removing the traditional application menus. I have already removed the directory ~/.gimp-2.8 and let GIMP re-create it but it didn't change much. Is there any solution for this? I'm completely stuck with my work... Thanks, Fabio p.s. Weirdly, when I run GIMP in strace everything works fine. Even though, of course, running GIMP in strace every time is not a solution, it goes damn slow and it eats up my machine's resources. What happens here? Some weird race condition that disappears using strace? ** Affects: gimp (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gimp in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1213462 Title: GIMP bootstrap remains stuck on loading tool options To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gimp/+bug/1213462/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
