[Bug 1214766] [NEW] Pressing F1 in gnome-terminal forces you to log out of a gnome classic session

2013-08-21 Thread Salvador Girbau
Public bug reported:

Hi,

Steps to reproduce:
1) Log in, to a gnome classic session.
2) Start a gnome-terminal window (for example, right-click on desktop and
choose Open terminal...).
3) Press F1.

At this point, an empty help window appears, but it can't be closed or
killed - it respawns continually on a new process id. Also, it grabs the
keyboard focus, so other open applications become unusable. The only way
to continue working is to log out of the session.

Expected behavior:
At least, not hanging the session. My typical use case is that I'm trying to
hit some other key (for example, the esc key while using vi in the terminal
window), and hit F1 by accident, rendering the session unusable.

Thanks!

[Bug 879916] Re: Password can be entered in any layout when unlocking the screen

2013-08-21 Thread Farhad Baghery
I think gnome can keep it as a feature. For me It was a good feature
(before fixing). I mostly use non-English layout but my password is in
English. While screen is standby I start typing password and hint enter
but after powering on LCD I see that layout was non-English and password
not accepted. I think not related to layout password can be a good
feature.

[Bug 841409] Re: GEdit is the only choice as Calendar application in Default Applications dialog

2013-08-21 Thread Thomas C.
Its just easy to add thunderbird to the default calendar client:

Edit /usr/share/applications/thunderbird.desktop
and add text/calendar;text/x-vcard; to MimeType

at least run: update-desktop-database -q

Now you see Thunderbird in the Default Applications dialog.

Pls include this in Ubuntu Dist Packages ;)

[Bug 697756] Re: iPod and iPhone movies are played with incorrect orientation

2013-08-21 Thread Michael Doube
Still reproducible in 12.04.

It seems that the QuickTime file format uses a 3x3 transformation matrix
to encode a mapping from 'camera space' to 'display space'. In the case
of simple 90° and 180° rotations that matrix is all zeros and (minus)
ones. So, this should just be a case of getting the bytes of the
transformation matrix and working out which way to do the rotation.

https://developer.apple.com/library/mac/documentation/QuickTime/QTFF/QTFFChap2/qtff2.html#//apple_ref/doc/uid/TP4939-CH204-56313

https://developer.apple.com/library/mac/documentation/QuickTime/QTFF/QTFFChap4/qtff4.html#//apple_ref/doc/uid/TP4939-CH206-18737

An algorithm might go like:
parse bytes looking for 'mvhd'
skip ahead 36 bytes
read the next 36 bytes into a 3x3 matrix (4 bytes per element)
calculate the rotation
do the rotation during playback

[Bug 841409] Re: GEdit is the only choice as Calendar application in Default Applications dialog

2013-08-21 Thread Rainer Rohde
@Thomas --

of course this is just a pseudo fix, as it doesn't integrate Thunderbird
into the Unity Panel and its Calendar Indicator. That means, I can't see
any of my events from the indicator, nor can I click on Add Event...
from the Calendar Indicator and hope that Thunderbird launches from
there... ;)

I really hope that there will be a real calendar that integrates with
Ubuntu and the indicator well enough, and lets the user pick what
backend the want their calendar data to be displayed from.

[Bug 1215098] [NEW] iPhone with iOS 7 does not work on Ubuntu

2013-08-21 Thread swallowingpaperclips
Public bug reported:

Devices running iOS 7 now have a USB Pair Trust prompt that appears when
the device is plugged into a machine. This prompt reads Trust This
Computer? Your settings and data will be accessible from this computer
when connected via USB or Wi-Fi. [Trust] [Don't Trust]

Repro:
1) Plug powered-on Apple device with iOS 7 into Ubuntu USB port

Expected results:
The device should pair with the Ubuntu machine when Trust is tapped.

Actual results:
When plugged into an Ubuntu machine, when the Trust button on the prompt is
clicked, the iPhone buzzes twice, then repeats the prompt. This will repeat
endlessly.

On the Ubuntu machine, a dialog reading The device [name of device]
is locked. Enter the passcode on the device and click Try again.
[Cancel] [Try again] is displayed. However, no opportunity to enter the
passcode on the device is ever displayed. Clicking Try again only re-
displays this dialog, endlessly.

[Bug 987578] Re: Evince is not allowed to use exo-open

2013-08-21 Thread Seth Arnold
I have re-tested this problem with the benefit of clarity of time. :)

I have verified that the AppArmor policy changes in the apparmor package
in precise-proposed behave as desired, without DENIED entries, for using
exo-open as the application helper.

I have verified that evince is able to open links with the new apparmor
package in precise-proposed.

Thanks

[Bug 290358] Re: GIMP accessibility information has been lost

2013-08-21 Thread Thomas Hotz
I'm sorry, but I can't test this any more on my Ubuntu 13.04 machine.
The program accerciser doesn't show GIMP. Are there ways to see this?
Please tell me, I want to test it. Thank you!

** Changed in: gimp (Ubuntu)
   Status: Confirmed = Incomplete
