[Bug 1216788] [NEW] #!/usr/bin/python files and similar variants are not shown as executable files

2013-08-26 Thread Sworddragon
Public bug reported:

I'm using Ubuntu 13.10 dev with shared-mime-info 1.1-0ubuntu4. For a few days
after upgrading the system I have noticed that python-files aren't shown as
executable files anymore. I have already opened a bug report on upstream for
this: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=68494
But I'm not sure if this is really a bug in shared-mime-info because after
downgrading shared-mime-info, PCManFM and libfm to the versions from Ubuntu
13.04 (libfm-data, libfm-gtk-bin, libfm-gtk-data, libfm-gtk3, libfm3, pcmanfm,
shared-mime-info) and rebooting the system the problem still exists.

[Bug 1216840] [NEW] webdavs files not acccessible to POSIX apps

2013-08-26 Thread Stephen Parry
Public bug reported:

Mounting webdavs share via GVFS (in my case using gigolo), remote file system
should be accessible via gvfs-fuse at /run/user/username/gvfs/. Instead just
get input/output errors when listing and reading files.
Steps to reproduce:
Use gigolo to connect to remote DAVS file storage using Actions - Connect,
Actions- Open
Check connectivity via gvfs:

gvfs-ls davs://remoteu...@www.somesite.com/somepath
gvfs-cat davs://remoteu...@www.somesite.com/somepath/somefile.txt

In my case, these work fine. Now try:

ls -l
/run/user/localuser/gvfs/dav\:host\=www.somesite.com\,ssl\=true\,user\=remoteuser/somepath
cat
/run/user/localuser/gvfs/dav\:host\=www.somesite.com\,ssl\=true\,user\=remoteuser/somepath/somefile.txt

Get these errors:

ls: cannot access

 Input/output error
:
:
cat:

2013-08-26 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. The issue you are reporting is an upstream one and it
would be nice if somebody having it could send the bug to the developers
of the software by following the instructions at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Upstream/GNOME. If you have done so, please
tell us the number of the upstream bug (or the link), so we can add a
bugwatch that will inform us about its status. Thanks in advance.

[Bug 1203853] [NEW] rfkill button does nothing on Samsung NP53U3C with Ubuntu raring

2013-08-26 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

I'm using Samsung NP53U3C AMD-based ultrabook and the wireless/bluetooth
kill button (Fn+F12) does nothing. After some research I came to a
conclusion that there is a problem in udev, which does not know about
such key press (as seen in dmesg). The dmesg error shown below.

Steps to reproduce:
Press Fn+F12

Expected result:
Wireless and bluetooth turns on or off

Actual result:
This line in dmesg:
[65983.993398] atkbd serio0: Unknown key pressed (translated set 2, code 0xd5
on isa0060/serio0).

Exact laptop model: SAMSUNG ELECTRONICS CO., LTD. 535U3C

This bug was fixed in the package file-roller - 3.9.90-0ubuntu1

file-roller (3.9.90-0ubuntu1) saucy; urgency=low

  * Sync with Debian. Remaining changes:
- Depend on zip and unzip instead of p7zip which is in universe
- Suggest p7zip-full (LP: #918107)
- Recommend sessioninstaller
  * Dropped change:
- Use the Ubuntu epoch for the Nautilus depends (Ubuntu 11.10
and newer include Nautilus 3.0 or higher)
  * New upstream release
- Restore directory modification time when extracting (LP: #1076716)
- Allow viewing the password when creating an encrypted archive
  (LP: #772556)
- Avoid unnecessary word break when wrapping text to new lines
  (LP: #1193921)
  * debian/patches/revert_gtk_3-9.patch:
- Revert commit that requires GTK 3.9 since GTK 3.9 won't be in Saucy
  * debian/control.in, debian/rules:
- Run dh-autoreconf for above patch

file-roller (3.8.4-1) unstable; urgency=low

  * New upstream release.
  * Bump Standards-Version to 3.9.4. No further changes.

file-roller (3.8.3-1) unstable; urgency=low

2013-08-26 Thread goniomdq
You need to install evolution-indicator.
Please let me know how it goes after you've installed it, as I do have it and
have some issues with integration. i.e.: blue icon doesn't go white after
reading emails, unless I actually click on it and clicking on it doesn't bring
evolution up.
Please let me know if you get the same behaviour and I will open a bug report.

[Bug 1133477] Re: cut-n-paste move files got stuck forever

2013-08-26 Thread eric5151
I experienced the same problem. I was moving 428 small files by
selecting and drag and dropping in a folder on the same dir, popup
froze, only 349 files were moved. No files were lost, but some (or one)
were damaged, which I determined by comparing their size against a
backup.

[Bug 1203592] [NEW] Keyboard backlight does not work in Samsung Series 9 NP900X4C

2013-08-26 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

In Ubuntu 13.04, the keyboard backlight does not work in Samsung Series
9 NP900X4C.

Adding the FN key mappings as described in
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/SamsungSeries9 does show information
in the notification area when pressing the keyboard backlight's + and -
buttons, but:

1) The notification always identifies the backlight as full max
2) It has no effect on the backlight - it's always off

When I first installed Ubuntu on this machine (12.10), even though the
fn keys never worked I did have intermitent backlight functionality -
the light sensor would sometimes work and I'd see light in the keyboard.

I dual boot in Windows 8 and backlighting works there, so this is not a
hardware issue.

Thanks, so the keymaps are fine. Moving to gnome-settings-daemon, it's
the power plugin's responsibility to control backlight.

[Bug 1216351] Crash report cannot be processed

2013-08-26 Thread Apport retracing service
Thank you for your report!

However, processing it in order to get sufficient information for the
developers failed (it does not generate a useful symbolic stack trace). This
might be caused by some outdated packages which were installed on your system
at the time of the report:

outdated debug symbol package for libexpat1: package version 2.1.0-4
dbgsym version 2.1.0-2

Please upgrade your system to the latest package versions. If you still
encounter the crash, please file a new report.

Thank you for your understanding, and sorry for the inconvenience!
