[Bug 124440] Re: Ubuntu needs a way to set mouse scrolling speed
1. I would advice people to switch to KDE from Gnome. It has proper mouse settings and much more. 2. I don't know if it helps for somebody, but I use mouse scroll emulation when the right mouse button is clicked down then moving the mouse up and down scrolls. - I can more dinamically/quickly/accurately use on my laptop. It is a system wide solution, set up once, restart the computer and enjoy in every app. It does not matter if it is Gnome or KDE. Create a file /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/10-evdev.conf with the content: Section InputClass Identifier evdev pointer catchall MatchIsPointer on MatchDevicePath /dev/input/event* Driver evdev Option EmulateWheel true Option EmulateWheelButton3 EndSection I originally used this tweek because my laptop does not have a touchpad, but I pleased to use with my Bluetooth/USB mouses for the same machine, it is a much better experience for me. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-control-center in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/124440 Title: Ubuntu needs a way to set mouse scrolling speed To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gnome-control-center/+bug/124440/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1229066] [NEW] evince-thumbnailer can't run mktexpk
Public bug reported: On Ubuntu 12.04, when running /usr/bin/evince-thumbnailer on a .dvi file that references a font for which there is no PK file on the system yet, AppArmor blocks the execution of /usr/share/texmf/web2c/mktexnam etc. Here are sample audit log messages: [ 5720.378549] type=1400 audit(1379921624.784:28): apparmor=DENIED operation=exec parent=6181 profile=/usr/bin/evince-thumbnailer//sanitized_helper name=/usr/share/texmf/web2c/mktexnam pid=6204 comm=mktexpk requested_mask=x denied_mask=x fsuid=1000 ouid=0 [ 5720.384833] type=1400 audit(1379921624.788:29): apparmor=DENIED operation=exec parent=6181 profile=/usr/bin/evince-thumbnailer//sanitized_helper name=/usr/share/texmf/web2c/mktexupd pid=6209 comm=mktexpk requested_mask=x denied_mask=x fsuid=1000 ouid=0 I suspect this is because the sanitized_helper profile in /etc/apparmor.d/abstractions/ubuntu-helpers only covers /bin, /sbin, /usr/bin and /usr/sbin, not /usr/share/texmf/web2c . I'm not sure whether this bug should be filed against apparmor, evince or texlive-binaries; I can think of at least three ways of addressing the issue: 1) add /usr/share/texmf/web2c/* Pixr to the sanitized_helper profile; 2) modify the profile for /usr/bin/evince-thumbnailer to use something other than sanitized_helper; 3) provide a separate AppArmor profile for the /usr/bin/mktexpk wrapper (and its siblings). ** Affects: evince (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to evince in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1229066 Title: evince-thumbnailer can't run mktexpk To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evince/+bug/1229066/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1221909] [NEW] No password request dialog shown after upgrade of libgcr in Ubuntu 12.04 LTS
You have been subscribed to a public bug: My first symptom appeard when Evolution started to ask for my GAL password every time I opened it. I tought it was IT staff messing with exchange. Then, evolution started to crash after being opened. I found this report https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=953641 that gave me the clue to look around gcr. I tried to view my stored passords in Seahorse and I was unable to do that. This fact let me discard evolution/exchange problems. I focused on libgcr. $ sudo aptitude remove --purge libgcr-3-1 and libgcr-3-common The first option was to uninstall a lot of packages. I answered no until the proposed action was downgrade the packages. libgcr-3-1 and libgcr-3-common were downgraded from version 3.2.2-2ubuntu4.1 to 3.2.2-2ubuntu4 As sugested in the bug report, I killed gnome-keyring. [Bug 951790] Re: Laptop does not suspend on lid close when external display is connected
I know this is marked as invalid, I'd just like to say that there is a workaround for this bug in Gnome shell. Gnome-tweak-tool has the option for Laptop lid, when closed, will suspend even if there is an external monitor plugged in.
