[Bug 1244499] [NEW] Minor inconsistency in UI under Appearance with regards to the auto-hide functionality in Saucy
Public bug reported: Minor bug. I've noticed that when I toggle on auto hide and toggle it off under "Appearance" and under the "Behavior" tab, I can still adjust the reveal location and reveal sensitivity even with the option to auto- hide the launcher toggled off again. Only happens after a toggle on and off. The behavior should be to grey out the options once disabled again and not allow the user to select them until the auto-hide option is enabled again. [Bug 1093582] Re: gnome-system-monitor display without grid
@Sebastian: I have checked from the system monitor git repo log what would be worth porting, and there's not much worth porting, basically the fix for this bug and another one for a wording change in bug #1156238. The other ones, some performance improvements and memory leak fixes are also interesting, but as these happened after serious refactorings, they can not be easily ported. With the ones I have mentioned I have created a branch with new patches for it in /debian/patches, unfortunately bzr builddeb fails with some strange error, looks like it wants to revert the fix for the graph grid rendering issue based on the upstream 3.8.2.1. [Bug 1218322] Re: Can't set keyboard layout change to alt+shift, ctrl+shift, etc.
I'd like to second Sergio's problem with the NumLock. Switching layouts turns numlock off (kind of). More precisely: The digits except 5 work as arrow/home/etc. keys, but 5 inserts a literal 5. This is a weird mixture I've never seen before and I can't see any rationale whatsoever. Pressing NumLock once turns it off completely (5 does nothing), pressing once again turns it on. So I actually have to press it twice to switch it on. I want to have my NumLock on all the time (I use the keypad for typing digits, never as arrows). I switch layouts very often, sometimes even like once per minute or so. Having to press NumLock twice every time after such a switch in unacceptable for me. I don't have a NumLock LED, I can't tell how that would be lit. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-settings-daemon in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1218322 Title: Can't set keyboard layout change to alt+shift, ctrl+shift, etc. To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/hundredpapercuts/+bug/1218322/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1218322] Re: Can't set keyboard layout change to alt+shift, ctrl+shift, etc.

There still remain + issues regarding keyboard shortcuts though. [Bug 792085] Re: Automatic remount of safely removed drive
Same bug with Ubuntu 13.04 Yesterday I updated from ubuntu 12.10 to 13.04 using the software updater. Now when I plug-in my external hdd it automounts again in seconds after I hit 'safely remove'. It does not stay unmounted even after multiple times hitting 'safely remove' I can only remove it when I either do ' sudo eject /media/...' or 'sudo umount /media/' I hadn't had this problem with 12.10. It doesn't make a difference if I use the Usb 2.0 or 3.0 port on my computer. In addition a Usb pen drive that was working perfectly before is not working at all anymore and not even listed when I do 'sudo fdisk -l' My computer does have a Nvidia Graphics card and I use gnome not unity -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to nautilus in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/792085 Title: Automatic remount of safely removed drive To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/792085/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1218322] Re: Can't set keyboard layout change to alt+shift, ctrl+shift, etc.
Hello! It seems that problem discussed in this bug report is wider. In next six month 14.04 will be prepared and arrived. It's LTS. So users of Ubuntu 12.04 LTS may want to update to it. What they have now (in Ubuntu 12.04.3)? They have very wide choose of available hotkeys for layout change. Let's see. In Ubuntu 12.04.3, under gnome-control-center keyboard we have (select tab "Typing", click on link "Layout Settings" in left bottom corner of window, press the "Options" button in the top right corner of window, window "Keyboard Layout Options" is opened). Under "Key(s) to change layout" it has: Alt+Caps Lock Alt+Ctrl Alt+Shift Alt+Space Any Win key (while pressed) Both Alt keys together Both Ctrl keys together Both Shift keys together Caps Lock Caps Lock (to first layout), Shift+Caps Lock (to last layout) Caps Lock (while pressed), Alt+Caps Lock does the original capslock action Ctrl+Shift Left Alt Left Alt+Left Shift Left Alt (while pressed) Left Ctrl Left Ctrl+Left Shift Left Ctrl+LeftWin (to first layout), RightCtrl+Menu (to second layout) Left Ctrl (to first layout), Right Ctrl (to last layout) Left Shift Left Win Left Win (to first layout), Right Win/Menu (to last layout) Left Win (while pressed) Menu Right Alt Rigth Alt (while pressed) Right Ctrl Right Ctrl+Right Shift Right Ctrl (while pressed) Right Shift Right Win Right Win (while pressed) Scroll Lock Shift+Caps Lock This list is very long but universal. Defined hotkeys are full-functional. For example if I set Ctrl+Shift for layout changing I can copy and paste in gnome-terminal with Ctrl+Shift+C / V. I do not want to post other "Keyboard Layout Options" features, that missed in 13.10. But they are of course missed. What we have now in 13.10 (ppa or proposed)? We have simple shortcuts (for example Alt+Shift and Ctrl+Shift) and do not have other. I am going to detect and report separate bugreports for each hotkey which does not work correctly in 13.10. If anybody want to help me, it would be good. Keyboard layout switching is most important and most essential functionality. IMHO. I do not agree with GNOME simpilicity/stupidity modern style and I hope that 14.04 will be polished and full-functional as Precise Pangolin. I understand that some of the keyboard layout switch options are available in gnome-tweak-tool, but it is not right place for them. Layout switching is a common feature, there is no reason to hide it under not-preinstalled tool. [Bug 1244158] [NEW] GNOME: Modifiers Only keyboard layout switch have no effect
Public bug reported: After setting up Alt+Shift keys to change the keyboard layout (via gnome-tweak-tool or via gnome control center), these key combinations do not provide the expected result. Expected Result: Keyboard layout is changed and keyboard indicator display updates Actual Result: Only keyboard indicator display updates, leaving the actual keyboard indicator in English. I have English-Hebrew keyboard layout configured with alt+shift for layout switching. Once the layout is on Hebrew, alt+shift switches back to English properly. Once the layout is on English, alt+shift changes the keyboard indicator to "he", but actually the systems layout is still English. At this point, pressing Alt+Shift results in changes to the indicator display only, resulting in no actual layout switches. If "Allow different sources for each window" is selected in "Input Sources Options" then: - Changing the layout to Hebrew. - Alt-Tab to another window with a different layout. - Alt-Tab back, allows me to type back in Hebrew. When Alt+Shift "switches" to English: $ setxkbmap -query rules: evdev model: pc105 layout: us options:compose:caps,terminate:ctrl_alt_bksp,grp:alt_shift_toggle When Alt+Shift "switches" to Hebrew: $ setxkbmap -query rules: evdev model: pc105 layout: il,us variant:, options:compose:caps,terminate:ctrl_alt_bksp,grp:alt_shift_toggle Which seems right. But still when typing, English chars are being typed. I tried this with the packages from the official repos, gnome-ppa, and ppa:attente/1218322 as described here: http://askubuntu.com/questions/356357/how-to-use-altshift-combo-to-switch-keyboard-layout-in-13-10 All with the same effect. [Bug 1195911] Re: ssh: Received disconnect from xx.yy.zz.aa: 2: Too many authentication failures for XXXX
While it appears not to be a problem in Lubuntu, it is still a problem in Ubuntu 13.10. $ lsb_release -r Release:13.10 There are really two problems. [Bug 1244138] [NEW] Run gnome-keyring-daemon using upstart
Public bug reported: After upgrading to LUbuntu 13.10, gnome-keyring-daemon (from the package gnome-keyring-3.8.2-0ubuntu3) was no longer started .
