Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. The issue you are reporting is an upstream one and it would be nice if somebody having it could send the bug to the developers of the software by following the instructions at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Upstream/GNOME. If you have done so, please tell us the number of the upstream bug (or the link), so we can add a bugwatch that will inform us about its status. [Bug 1218322] Re: Can't set keyboard layout change to alt+shift, ctrl+shift, etc.
The packages from the Modifier-only input switch PPA work very well in case of Unity. I've tried all the mentioned test cases and everything worked. The Ctrl + Shift L set as next source shortcut doesn't collide with Terminal shortcuts or Sublime Text 3 or LibreOffice. Also if I have Text Entry settings open and I issue the gsettings command in terminal the shortcut changes in those settings immediately (reflecting that change). I don't have any other DE's except for Cairo Dock which has it's own session but I didn't check how it works in that. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-settings-daemon in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1218322 Title: Can't set keyboard layout change to alt+shift, ctrl+shift, etc. To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gnome-settings-daemon/+bug/1218322/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1241309] Re: Ubuntu 13.10 has no way to change individual input method settings
I discovered how to switch the keyboard layout and other preferences in Ubuntu 13.10. Here is what I did - 1. sudo apt-get install ibus-clutter ibus-qt4 (not sure if this step is necessary, but I noticed these two were missing with my Ubuntu 13.10 install, even after enabling ibus-chewing) 2. log out and log back in using gnome-shell (granted not everyone installs gnome-shell, but I did and it's the only way I found so far) 3. you should see input method icon on top gnome panel, next to speaker icon 4. click on input method icon and select another method (e.g. bopomofo or chewing) 5. click on the same input method icon again and you'll see Preference (for bopomofo) and Settings (for Chewing) From what I can tell, you can also do the same for bopomofo without gnome-shell, by executing the following command - python /usr/share/ibus-pinyin/setup/main.py bopomofo Hope this helps, David -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-control-center in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1241309 Title: Ubuntu 13.10 has no way to change individual input method settings To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-control-center/+bug/1241309/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
Re: [Bug 1131664] Re: Patch the menus of the 'Calculator', 'Document Viewer' and 'System Settings' apps to fit with Unity
Hi, will try this patch soon. It seems to be nearly my patche + adding unity support. I hope my patch was a help. I think in evince there is one big problem: 1) the menubar schould not be visible in fullscreen or presentation mode and fix the possible fals re arranging of the menubar-/ toolbars when leaving those. I think the importance of your second bug is currently low. When trusty will be stable there will be an other version than evince 3.10 so there will be a new patch. I will test if your third bug also affects cinnamon. If it is so i will find a way to patch it. Otherwise it's unity specific and i can`t use unity in virtualbox with cinnamon installed. The file-roller patch will took more time to create, i'm sure . But perhaps you will make it. I've sucessfully patched the uploaded source folder which compiles fine on my PC , but every time i want to create a patch it fails for unknown reasons. I could create some langugage file patches if you want that. 'can understand english french and german, and i think i would be able to re- insert some code for other european languages too. For the moment apart from epiphany, only the main program binarys are really different from the not patched ones. In file-roller ther is an ugly attach menubar code which should be deleted soon )= . I'will perhaps take a look at the gome main games section ( as gnome-mine) soon. I'm not an programmer and i can't write anything in C or python but the code changes for the menubar are nearly normally readable. I now also how to wirte gtk3 css files and this is really similar. regards bluedxca93 2013/11/14, Marc Deslauriers marc.deslauri...@canonical.com: Here's a debdiff for evince for saucy I worked on. [Bug 1131220] Re: [soundnua]: gnome-control-center crashed with SIGSEGV in gvc_mixer_control_lookup_device_from_stream()
David, the patch has altered the nature of the crash, but I am still not able to get into sound settings. Previously the window would open, hang, and then crash, prompting me to file a report (which is what I did when this started happening). Now trying to open the page opens and immediately closes in a seg fault. It's probably for the best that we were getting the old behavior, as this crash doesn't provide as much bug report info off the bat... running gnome-control-center sound simply prints out Segmentation fault (core dumped).
