[Bug 702519] Re: Column headings in Evolution and Claws Mail have rounded corners
If a bug report is easily reproducible, please don't close it merely because it was reported on an old version. Thanks. ** Description changed: light-themes 0.1.8.4, Ubuntu Natty + light-themes 13.04+13.10.20131014-0ubuntu1, evolution 3.8.4-0ubuntu1, Ubuntu 13.10 The table column headings in Evolution and Claws Mail, both native GTK applications, have rounded corners. This is ugly because it leaves crevices between and around the headings. It's also inconsistent with the column headings in Nautilus and Firefox. ** Changed in: evolution (Ubuntu) Status: Invalid = New ** Changed in: light-themes (Ubuntu) Status: Invalid = New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to evolution in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/702519 Title: Column headings in Evolution and Claws Mail have rounded corners To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evolution/+bug/702519/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

(Jörg Frings-Fürst, please don't close a bug report as no longer supported if the bug is easily reproducible in a current version. Receive some messages. + + What should happen: The messages show up in the messaging menu. + What happens: They don't. + + This is because evolution-indicator is not installed along with evolution. + After installing Lucid, I decided to remove Evolution. Maybe that will help for someone as workaround or smth. If you bind for switching keyboard layout to [left-ctrl] + [left-shift] than only [left- ctrl] + [any-shift] would not work. [Bug 1255235] [NEW] time-admin help docs show the ability to show/select ntp internet time servers, but the app itself seems to have lost this ability.
Public bug reported: The Time Administration Tool Manual (Help clicked from time-admin window) states You will be able to choose from a list of Internet servers to keep your computer clock synchronized automatically., however no such list appears. It also states Synchronize now button This will allow you to synchronize just once with the selected Internet servers. I see no such button. I remember several Ubuntu versions ago, I had this ability. I think it was 9.10. I was in Germany, and I needed this ability, as the NTP server automatically selected for my area was non-functional. I imagine you have decided it is no longer necessary, but forgot to remove it from the docs. If it IS supposed to be there, then it is obviously a bug. If not, then it's a bug in the documentation. I had to look in synaptic to see the version number, as the time-admin window has no About option in the menu (maybe this is a bug?). Also invoking time-admin from the terminal seems not to have the usual Linux reponse to --version or --help options, and just brings up the window without comment... I have attached screenshots showing time-admin's help windows, that show the button that one can click to select time servers, and the window that results from that click showing various internet time servers which one can checkmark to select. [Bug 1254923] Re: Source repo has moved
Sebastien, there are two reasons for this ticket: 1) To make sure Ubuntu has the correct upstream for its packaging (just FYI) 2) To see about getting an updated import branch for shotwell, so we can use it in our daily build and anywhere else On 2), I just found the launchpad help docs for import branches (https://help.launchpad.net/Code/Imports) which seems to suggest that maybe the best solution here is to request a new import branch with the new git URL, and once that's set up, move our recipes and anything else to point to the new branch. If that sounds right to you, I'll open a request at https://code.launchpad.net/+code-imports/+new and you can close this bug whenever you feel adequately notified about the repo URL change. [Bug 1214352]
(In reply to comment #43) but surely KIO uses paths into a FUSE mount just like GNOME does - making that mostly pointless ? No, KIO doesn't deal with any kind of mount. It just downloads the file into a temp folder, and opens it from there. It may cause troubles as in Bug 39591. The problem now is that starting with 4.1 the .desktop files contain 'X -KDE-Protocols' definition, which is the equivalent of 'X-GIO-NoFuse'. So when users double-click on a file we get 'smb://adderss/share/filename', and should deal with it ourselves. And because the official build uses gnome-vfs, it fails. So there are 3 solutions: 1. Make gnome-vfs work under KDE as suggested above. 2. Force gnome desktop in official build (by exporting OOO_FORCE_DESKTOP=gnome in startup script, or something similar). It won't hurt anyone, since we don't ship KDE4 integration anyway. 3. Remove 'X-KDE-Protocols' from .desktop files. I can generate the inverse behaviour (sidebar is always on, nautilus doesn't keep it off if I turn it off, close a window, open a new one) with the latest ubuntu-gnome 13.10 live CD for amd64 (http://torrent.ubuntu.com:6969/file?info_hash=A%26M%1C%FA%D2%9C%BD%3A%D0%82%FE%9FV%2Bj%5Cr%94%AA). So it may be something with gnome3 just persisting whatever behaviour is set and never remembering your new choices. I am using gnome-shell on the desktop where I'm seeing this behaviour. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to nautilus in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1250979 Title: Nautilus forgets sidebar settings To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/1250979/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1251899] [NEW] every time I restart udisksd, the unity panel adds another audio disc icon
You have been subscribed to a public bug: I ended up restarting udisksd half a dozen times today while working on it and each time, unity added yet another duplicate icon for the cdrom. Tried to restart unity by running unity --replace ( why isn't it an upstart job? ), and it just died so I had to alt-sysrq-k and login again, at which point all of the duplicates were gone. ** Affects: gvfs (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- every time I restart udisksd, the unity panel adds another audio disc icon https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1251899 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gvfs in Ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 1251899] Re: every time I restart udisksd, the unity panel adds another audio disc icon
Seems this is a bug in gvfs-udisks2-volume-monitor. [Bug 1255402] [NEW] the user should be able to disable the recently used files feature in preferences dialog in Image Viewer (eog)
Public bug reported: Hi, I've read the source code of eog and found that the feature of keeping recently used files list was actually done in its source code (eog-window.c). It uses gtk_recent_manager to do this. So instead of disabling the feature by deleting the recently-used.xbel file, could it be an option in the preferences dialog of eog to be able to enable or disable this feature? I'm willing to provide the code since it's not too complicated. Andrew suggested me to report a bug: https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+question/239833 By the way, I'm using Ubuntu 12.04 with eog 3.4.2 Although I came across this problem in eog 3.4.2, I found that the problem existed in 3.8.2 in Trusty as well. I'll try to provide a patch as soon as possible. I'm sorry I'm new here. I can't get the branch using 'bzr branch lp:ubuntu/precise/eog'. Do you use bzr for version control? Or do you accept patch file from other subversion system, say, svn? [Bug 33288]
While working on bug #71160 I've found another regression introduced by this fix. In some cases, additional lines are added to the selection. For example, open the hig document and go to the first page. Start selecting the second line, but dragging from the margin, and you will see that the first line is selected too. This is because the second line is more indented than the first one. This fix changed the way blocks and lines are included in the selection by using the manhattan distance, and in this case, the distance of the first line is less than the second line, but the first line doesn't even intersect with the selection rectangle. If you start the selection closer to the beginning of the second line, then the first line is not included because distance to the second line is less in such case. You can play with it now using the text demo of poppler-glib-demo. I've added an area selector to get the text of a given area. Try using X1=0, Y1=122, which should discard the first line, but it doesn't. However using X1=257, Y1=122 discards the first line entirely. So, I think that we need to somehow discard blocks and lines that don't intersect with the selection rectangle even if the manhattan distance is less than any other block/line. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to the bug report. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/33288 Title: Evince doesn't handle columns properly To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/poppler/+bug/33288/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
