[Bug 1264075] Crash report cannot be processed

2013-12-25 Thread Apport retracing service
Thank you for your report!

However, processing it in order to get sufficient information for the
developers failed (it does not generate a useful symbolic stack trace). This
might be caused by some outdated packages which were installed on your system
at the time of the report:

outdated debug symbol package for libudev1: package version 204-0ubuntu19.1
dbgsym version 204-0ubuntu18
outdated debug symbol package for libgnome-desktop-3-7: package version
3.8.4-0ubuntu1.1 dbgsym version 3.8.4-0ubuntu1

Please upgrade your system to the latest package versions. If you still
encounter the crash, please file a new report.

Thank you for your understanding, and sorry for the inconvenience!

[Bug 1264100] [NEW] Ubuntu 12.04 Nautilus view preferences not working

2013-12-25 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

Ubuntu 12.04 x64, when opening the Natuilus preferences for View many of
the options are not working.

I've only been able to make Natuilus change the icon sizes or style one
time when I first tried this on a clean, new install of 12.04, after
making one change to increase the size of the Icon view from 100% to
150%, then none of the view options under the preferences would work
again, they only worked one time...

The only way I can change the icons and size now is under the View
section of the menu, under the edit - preferences they no longer work

Here are the steps;

1. Edit - Preferences - Views

2. Default View - View New folders using; Drop down for the 3 choices
not working

3. Icon View Defaults - Default zoom level; Doesn't change icon sizes

4. Compact View Defaults - Default zoom level; Doesn't change icon sizes

[Bug 1244158] Re: GNOME: Modifiers Only keyboard layout switch have no effect

2013-12-25 Thread ofek luis lewinsohn
well I can only confirm that the problem on my ubuntu 13.10 with gnome
installed still exist.

an ugly workaround can be done with xkb of course. I added as a startup
command/application through the startup application preferences the following
command setxkbmap -layout de,il -option grp:alt_shift_toggle and disabled
all gnome shortcuts to switch layout and left only one layout as option.
(deleted the hebrew layout and left only the german one in this case)
(tried to do it also through xorg and /etc/default/keyboard and
/etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/something but both gotten overwritten)

[Bug 1264152] [NEW] Syntax highlight: nonsense pink coloring of portions of expressions in JS

2013-12-25 Thread matteo sisti sette
Public bug reported:

See screenshot. This is a JS file.
There are portions of expressions that are incorrectly highlighted in pink as
if they were strings.

There is no syntax error before or after the captured portion of text.
The script is parsed as expected by the javascript interpreter, so the
syntax highlight is wrong.

Oh my *** god, I see what the problem is!!
The portion between / and / are highlighted as if they were regular
expressions.

But they aren't, nor does the parser of the language interpreter
interpret them as such, so the syntax highlighting is wrong.

** Description changed:

See screenshot. This is a JS file.
There are portions of expressions that are incorrectly highlighted in pink as
if they were strings.

There is no syntax error before or after the captured portion of text.
The script is parsed as expected by the javascript interpreter, so the

Oh my *** god, I see what the problem is!!
The portion between / and / are highlighted as if they were regular
expressions.

But they aren't, nor does the parser of the language interpreter
- interpret them as such, nor does the standard say they should, so the
- syntax highlighting is wrong.
+ interpret them as such, so the syntax highlighting is wrong.

-
- Couldn't GEdit just use the same language definitions that are actually used
by true languages (I guess most of them are available as open source), so that
you don't have to rewrite definitions to emulate the behavior of language
parsers? Gedit is FULL of bugs like these (see how it wrongly parses PHP within
HTML, for example), so if it could just take language definitions from true
parsers, maybe we would finally get rid of all these syntax highlight
annoyances at once. Or is that not feasible?

[Bug 1218322] Re: Can't set keyboard layout change to alt+shift, ctrl+shift, etc.

2013-12-25 Thread Krisztian Poos
Just some new updates. I have just did a fresh install of 13.10, and tested the
layout settings. It definetely does not work on a fresh install. Alt_shift is
also not able to be set with gsettings, gsettings only works with the
Ctrl_shift toggle. After enabling the proposed updates, it is still not working
for the Alt_Shift. It is working for the Ctrl_Shift. The modifier only iput
switch ppa is the same. after installing it i still cannot use Alt_Shift, only
other shortcuts...
It is really a shame, that gnome developers cannot correct such a bug in so
long time...
