[Bug 878767] Re: No GUI option to change week-starting day
I know this is an old bug but there is still no way to change first day of the week in 2014 without undesirable consequences. I find it a bit astounding that such reasoning is used to not accept this as a bug. As already mentioned, every other operating system has this option. And the reason they do is that it's useful to people. I will not go on repeating the arguments for it, I believe there is no question to how obvious they are. This restriction affects the user experience in a negative way and it does so with no good reason. Following this logic we can make the argument that no user customization is necessary or justified. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-control-center in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/878767 Title: No GUI option to change week-starting day To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-control-center/+bug/878767/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1071739] Re: Unable to mount Blank DVD-R Disc
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1069964 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1069964 I have the same bug in 13.10 64bit, using Unity. After many troubles with it and catalyst drivers, I finally decided to install MATE, this solved all my graphic problems, but this error remained. I'm burning all my DVDs with K3b, and every time I insert a blank DVD, there is a window that pops up saying unable to mount blank dvd. Clicking on OK, everything works, but after burning some 7-8 DVDs it really goes on my nerve (I sometimes forgot to close them, and they are scattered all over my workspaces, depending on where I was when I inserted blank DVD). I can turn them off by unticking automount in dconf-editor (for nautilus/caja), that solves the problem, but then my external hard/flash disks won't automount, which is unacceptable (I despise windows explorer/nautilus/caja/etc file managers, my choice for a long time is commander-style file manager, currently double commander). And without automount option, every time I attach a device, I need to start nautilus/caja to mount it. [Bug 1248303] Re: Regression: installing gutenprint printer driver fails
Jussi, thank you very much. I have discovered the following problems: 1. Infinite loop in system-config-printer. I have prepared a patch and will soon make it available. 2. Your printer's ID does not match the ID in the current Gutenprint driver which comes with Ubuntu, leading system=config-printer to search on the OpenPrinting web site. 3. A bug on the OpenPrinting web site makes an old version of Gutenprint being downloaded. This version does not actually support your printer. Can you please tell which model name for your printer is written onto the printer itself, its packaging, and/or its manual? Is it something like Canon Pixma MP160, Canon MultiPass MP160, or simply Canon MP160? You should be able to make your printer working by clicking Cancel when you get offered a driver download and then manually assign the make/model/driver Canon PIXMA MP160 - CUPS+Gutenprint v5.2.9 to it. [Bug 1248303] Re: Regression: installing gutenprint printer driver fails
On the printer it reads simply MP160, but there's a separate Pixma logo, so it must be Canon Pixma MP160. And yes, I'm able to make the printer work if I configure it manually. I only recently figured out that one actually CAN configure the printer manually.
