[Bug 1274368] Re: nautilus

2014-01-30 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we cannot work on this bug because your
description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful
to read How to report bugs effectively
http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful
if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem.

We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at
http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures

At a minimum, we need:
1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the
problem,
2. the behavior you expected, and
3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible).
Thanks!

[Bug 1274332] [NEW] Print to File with File Renamed from Output.pdf Doesn't work

2014-01-30 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

When you are on a webpage, for instance in Chrome, and you select print,
print to file, and then select a folder in which to save a .pdf output,
you can only save the file as output.pdf, and THEN rename the file to a
name you prefer. If you type a different name than output.pdf, the cups
package does not print anything to file at all. Just closes and exits.
In previous updates and versions, however, you could easily type
whatever your desired print to file file name, and then have the file be
printed to that file name .pdf. Strange!

[Bug 1239087]

2014-01-30 Thread Zeuthen
OK, I just made that change

http://cgit.freedesktop.org/udisks/commit/?id=fcdd8f48b6ac9b1b6da82fdf5f59230fc2ea6feb

and tested it with a couple of different units. Notes

 - One of my devices (bus-powered) does not accept the START STOP UNIT
command so we just continue if it fails. That is, this patch should
   not break existing behavior.

 - Another device (not bus-powered) used to spin down a couple of seconds
after removing power to the USB port. With this patch it spins down
   immediately. (Which is actually nicer.)

 - Still works on USB sticks etc.

 - I didn't add SCSI SYNCHRONIZE CACHE as that command failed on all my
devices. I also don't think it's necessary as the device drivers will
issue something like this in part of the fsync(2) call that we do
   before this.

Please test if the patch works and report back - thanks!

[Bug 1239087]

2014-01-30 Thread Zeuthen
command “sg_start --stop /dev/sdX” really spin-downs my drive (sometimes
on 2nd or 3rd attempt - I don’t know why), device remains in system and
spin-up again only on my demand.

Btw, this is because the sg_start command opens the device node with
O_RDWR which causes an uevent 'change' event to fire when the command
completes. This in turn causes udev rules to fire which accesses the
disk which causes it to spin up again. In the patch I committed to
udisks to do this, we use O_RDONLY to avoid this.

[Bug 1241101] Re: Java crash in libglib-2.0 after upgrade from 13.04 to 13.10

2014-01-30 Thread Cristian Adam
Using GTK2_RC_FILES=/usr/share/themes/Raleigh/gtk-2.0/gtkrc worked also
for me using Kubuntu 13.10 64bit with oxygen-gtk theme.

It's an annoying bug because evertying seems to work and at certain
operations the application (based on Eclipse) crashes.

As Mr. Adam says above, i use the same environment, and the same error
occurs at certain operations when i use the oxygen-gtk theme.

The workaround with the

but looks not very good :(

[Bug 958353] Re: Unity launcher and panel are still visible on the lock screen

2014-01-30 Thread aberry5555
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 886605 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/886605

I can confirm that the issue affects my install of Ubuntu 13.10 x64 and
that, as is the case with Tatiane, closing Clementine seems to resolve
the issue.

Specs:

Hybrid AMD 8xxx / Intel Haswell graphics, running on intel graphics mode
with Mesa drivers.

  * debian/patches/fix_media_keys_on_unity.patch: Another reworking. Try to

[Bug 1274691] [NEW] Screen not locked when coming out of suspend/hibernate

2014-01-30 Thread Phill
Public bug reported:

Occasionally, after coming out of suspend the screen sometimes is
unlocked and visible for over a second before the lock screen kicks in.
I'm pretty sure I've managed to click on stuff when the lock screen has
been particularly slow to kick in.

The screen also shows a message box saying Computer will suspend very
soon because of inactivity - which needs OK/Cancel clicking as it
doesn't go away on its own after waking. Not sure if this is related as
it happens even if the problem itself does not occur. Thought I'd
mention is for completeness but I think it's already been reported as a
bug in its own right.

My computer is configured to do nothing on screen close (it does lock
when the screen turns off, which happens on lid close), but to suspend
only after 5 minutes of inactivity. This appears to work correctly every
time. I can finish using it, close the lid then it suspends 5 minutes or
so later.

I'm partly inclined to consider this a security vulnerability, but
mainly find it a little frustrating and confusing.

[Bug 1274702] [NEW] Hyper-V KVP infrastructure not working properly

2014-01-30 Thread Abhishek Gupta
Public bug reported:

The Hyper-V KVP package is required to display various metadata from a
virtual machine. Currently, the package is installed by using the
following command:

sudo apt-get install hv-kvp-daemon-init

However the installed drivers and daemons do not start even after
rebooting the VM.

One some further investigation it seems that the kernel installed
through the Ubuntu 12.10 ISO is different from the kernel for which the
package is compiled and that is why the daemons do not start. After
upgrading the kernel manually to match the package, the daemons could be
started. After talking to Ben it appears that the kernel should have
been automatically upgraded once the hv-kvp package was installed and
this might be an issue.

For Ubuntu 13.10, we saw that we have to use two commands to install the
hv-kvp package:

apt-get install linux-tools-3.11.0-15-generic
apt-get install hv-kvp-daemon-init

Furthermore, even after installing the packages, the daemons are not
available under /usr/sbin and have to be manually moved there. Can we
make the hv-kvp package dependent on the Linux-tools package? Also can
be automatically store in the daemons on the correct disk location?

Please let us know.
Thanks,
Abhishek

[Bug 1274726] [NEW] CTRL+Space does not work to play/pause

2014-01-30 Thread bluebomber
Public bug reported:

The keyboard shortcut for play/pause is documented in the help system of
rhythmbox 2.99.1 as being CTRL+Spacebar (which is what I'm used to), but
it doesn't work. Playing a song, then hitting CTRL+Space does not pause
it, it just seems to toggle the highlighting of the current track down
in the tracks pane. Can we please restore the behavior of CTRL+Spacebar?

[Bug 107974] Re: Evolution will not remember exchange password

2014-01-30 Thread xstaticxgpx
Just started having this exact issue with my EWS exchange account AND my
gmail account (which I use 2factor for so it was driving me insane)

What I did was go into seahorse and just clear all my saved logins.
After doing that and then re-entering my login info once more it seems
to have saved the logins to my keyring persistently. Atleast between
evolution restarts, haven't tried a reboot though

[Bug 1274740] Re: Re-enable traditional titlebar on 'gnome-but-not-shell' sessions too

2014-01-30 Thread Matthieu Baerts
In fact, the question should be: do we have to re-enable the traditional
titlebar on Gnome Fallback sessions too?
I guess it's a question for Ubuntu Gnome, Ubuntu Desktop and/or Ubuntu Design
teams, no?

I'm proposing a patch (see the branch linked to this bug report) which
currently only enable the new titlebar (CSD) on Gnome-Shell.
Note that if we want to have this new titlebar on Gnome Fallback sessions too,
we can simply replace:

g_strcmp0(g_getenv(DESKTOP_SESSION), gnome) == 0

by:

g_str_has_prefix(g_getenv(DESKTOP_SESSION), gnome)
