[Bug 1207812] Re: iOS 7, Trust Prompt Looping

2014-02-18 Thread Ingo Haschler
Ok, PPA is ready and open for brave beta testers :-) I have tested on both i386
an amd64 platforms with an iPhone 4S and an iPad2. Parining and file access
works on both, document access only on the iPhone.
Please report, I will add the gpod library asap.
sudo apt-add-repository ppa:ingo/ios7support
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
And a warning: As the packages use the new libimobiledevice api, they may break
other packages using the lib. But with iOS7, they are broken anyway ;-)

[Bug 1281517] [NEW] Cannot install printer

2014-02-18 Thread Henri Coetzee
Public bug reported:

I cannot install RICOH Aficio MP C2000 printer.

After I click on my printer in the add printer box, a searching for
driver box appears. After that a choose driver box appears. This box is
not very user friendly. There is checkboxes for Manufacturer, Patented
Algorithms and Free software. Non of these checkboxes are working. On
the left side I can choose between Gutenprint and Local Driver. When I
choose gutenprint, it asks for my password and then the installer goes
to 50% and doesn't go further. I am unable to click cancel or close the
window, and thus, unable to install the printer.

I saw a similar bug report (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source
/gnome-control-center/+bug/1248303), but that did not solve my problem.

This printer worked perfectly in previous versions of ubuntu.

[Bug 1246272] Re: Keyboard layout changing randomly in 13.10 (saucy)

2014-02-18 Thread Bruce
The problem also affects my Ubuntu 13.10 64-bit, however I'm using this
workaround:

Go to System Settings Text Entry. Under Input sources to use, add
your keyboard layout if it still doesn't exist, then move it to the top
of all layouts you already have. Or, if you prefer, you can simply
delete all the layouts you don't need and keep only the one you want
(that's what I've done here).

Now, open the Startup Applications, click on Add and do the following:

Name: KeyLaySet (This is made up. Invent your own.)
Command: bash -c sleep 5 gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.input-sources
current 0
Comment: Sets keyboard layout to default

About Name: you can use whatever you want.
About Command: after the system starts up, it will wait for 5 seconds and then
change the keyboard layout to the default one (that one you moved to the top in
the Input sources to use box).

Click on Save and then Close. Now, every time you start Ubuntu, your
keyboard layout will be properly set.

I hope it's helpful. Cheers. :)

[Bug 1281580] [NEW] Glib-compile-schemas utility possible doesn't compibiling right relocatable schemas

2014-02-18 Thread Attila Hammer
Public bug reported:

Dear Developers,

I using Ubuntu 14.04 development release with GNOME Shell 3.10, and because my
wife using too this system, I defined with some settings in a gschema.override
file.
Everithing is working right, except custom keybindings related settings
applying.
I added following lines my gsettings.override file:
[org.gnome.settings-daemon.plugins.media-keys]
www='SuperAltw'
email='Supere'
custom-keybindings =
['/org/gnome/settings-daemon/plugins/media-keys/custom-keybinding/custom0']

[org.gnome.settings-daemon.plugins.media-keys.custom-keybinding:/org/gnome/settings-daemon/plugins/media-keys/custom-keybindings/custom0/]
name = 'Launch Gedit'
command = 'gedit'
binding = 'Superg'

My gsettings.override file I putted the /usr/share/glib-2.0/schemas directory.
After I added this lines, I ran glib-compile-schemas /usr/share/glib2.0/schemas
command, not presented any error messages.
Testing purpose I created a new user, logout, and login the new created
username. Optimal case the custom keybinding need applying automaticaly, but
this is not happened, other defined keybindings applied right.
In gnome-control-center keyboard preference pane, keybindings tab the custom
shortcuts containing table is empty, containing one row with empty columns.

If I ran gsettings list-recursively org.gnome.settings-daemon.plugins
.media-keys.custom-keybinding:/org/gnome/settings-daemon/plugins/media-
keys/custom-keybindings/custom0/ command, the name, command and binding
key pairs get empty '' values.

If I manual ran following commands, the custom keybinding is created right:
gsettings set
org.gnome.settings-daemon.plugins.media-keys.custom-keybinding:/org/gnome/settings-daemon/plugins/media-keys/custom-keybindings/custom0/
 name Launch Gedit
gsettings set
org.gnome.settings-daemon.plugins.media-keys.custom-keybinding:/org/gnome/settings-daemon/plugins/media-keys/custom-keybindings/custom0/
 command gedit
gsettings set
org.gnome.settings-daemon.plugins.media-keys.custom-keybinding:/org/gnome/settings-daemon/plugins/media-keys/custom-keybindings/custom0/
 binding Superg

I doing anything wrong when I want adding the custom keybindings related
part my schema file, or glib-compile-schemas utility realy not applying
this part from the schema file?

[Bug 1281419] [NEW] Failure to mount NTFS partition confusing and unhelpful

2014-02-18 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

While it is well known to developers what the following error message
means, it is terrifying and not suitable for most end users:

Error mounting /dev/sda2 at /media/stub/0123456789ABCDEF: Command-line `mount
-t ntfs -o
uhelper=udisks2,nodev,nosuid,uid=1000,gid=1000,dmask=0077,fmask=0177
/dev/sda2 /media/stub/0123456789ABCDEF' exited with non-zero exit status
14: Windows is hibernated, refused to mount.
Failed to mount '/dev/sda2': Operation not permitted
The NTFS partition is in an unsafe state. Please resume and shutdown
Windows fully (no hibernation or fast restarting), or mount the volume
read-only with the 'ro' mount option.

Ubuntu needs a clearer dialog with the user without the techno babble
(and no 'unsafe' - this is perfectly normal). In addition, if an
acceptable solution is to 'mount the volume read-only with the 'ro'
mount option, then a mechanism to actually do this should be provided.

[Bug 1281110] [NEW] cds no longer appear in the device notifier

2014-02-18 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

Prior to my upgrade from 13.04 to 13.10 if I inserted a cd the device
notifier would pop up and I could take an action based on the system
settings. Now nothing happens - if I start (say) k3b and it is an audio
cd that will see the tracks and I can rip them without a problem.
However the device notifier not picking up the event is annoying - and -
I assume that is also the reason for a music player (eg amarok) not
seeing the cd either.

I'm not sure which package this is - the probelm occurred (as I said)
after the upgrade but I assume there's now a liblem with a libcd*
package

[Bug 1281649] [NEW] Links Go to page X bring to page X+1

2014-02-18 Thread Scaler
Public bug reported:

I've created pdf files (using latex/beamer) with table of content.
When hovering the links on section names a tooltip appears saying Go to page
X, but when I click on the link it brings to the following page (X+1).
Furthermore the page number shown in the Select page field (at top left) is
the expected page: X, and if I click anywhere outside of the document (toolbar,
another window, …) it switch to the shown page: X+1.

It only occurs with evince and not with other pdf readers.

I'm using Ubuntu 13.10 and Evince 3.10.0-0ubuntu2.

2014-02-18 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. The issue you are reporting is an upstream one and it
would be nice if somebody having it could send the bug to the developers
of the software by following the instructions at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Upstream/GNOME. If you have done so, please
tell us the number of the upstream bug (or the link), so we can add a
bugwatch that will inform us about its status. Thanks in advance.

*** EXPLANATION OF THE BUG ***
When I copy (Ctrl + C, or right click and Copy) text from somewhere and
after that close the program where it is, the clipboard gets empty.

Steps to reproduce in gedit :
  1. Pick any text field that supports copying, copy some text.
  2. Paste into any other text field.
  3. It works.
  4. Close the source window or program.
  5. Paste now does nothing.

This bug will happen in any application that doesn't comply with the
clipboard specification from FreeDesktop.
  http://www.freedesktop.org/wiki/ClipboardManager

There was also previous considerations about improving xserver-xorg
clipboard, which would reduce adaptation work from upstream projects to comply
with the specification.

[Bug 1226962]

2014-02-18 Thread Leeron Rabinov
ֹUnsure if this is the same bug or even related; however, the issue
persists with the Hebrew keyboard layout (while absent in (a) other
Hebrew layouts (lyx, phoenetic) (b) other languages, including RTL
(Russian, Arabic tested)).

Ubuntu 13.10 64-bit
Unity 7.1.2
LibreOffice 4.2.0.4

Steps to reproduce:

1. Add Hebrew keyboard layout.
2. Open Writer.
3. Switch to Hebrew layout.
4. Type a string.
5. Attempt to use CTL+A/C/V/X.

The following PDF reliably causes xpdf and Evince to crash/hang:

  http://www.gramme.be/unite9/pmwiki/uploads/PrGC0708/Creusage_-
_Tunnel_sous_la_Manche.pdf

Even when the file is split up into separate pages using 'pdftk burst',
all pages still cause the crash, including the smallest one at 11kB; the
crash is likely related to the loading of one of the embedded fonts.

Ideally even if Poppler can't handle a particular font, it should not
result in a crash.

decision.

Also install your distro poppler debug packages so that your backtrace
is more useful.

And if you can run it through valgrind also that'd be even better :-)
