[Bug 1207812] Re: iOS 7, Trust Prompt Looping

2014-02-22 Thread Klaus ZINGERLE
Dear Ingo,

after recent update the iphone appears as iphone of N.N. in my
personal folder.

- folders on iphone are accessible
- pictures in the subfolder DCIM are accessible, transfer of files works.
- music transfer works not: I may transfer music files to the respective
subfolder, but these files are not recognized at the iphone itself.

- mounting/pairing/trusting works properly.

brgds

[Bug 666238] Re: File-roller An error occured during the addition of files to the archive

2014-02-22 Thread Luigi R.
Please re-open this bug. It has not been fixed. I have exactly the same
problem on ubuntu 13.04.

This is the error message from the terminal:

** (file-roller:16278): WARNING **: Errore nel creare il collegamento
simbolico: File già esistente
 Error
creating the symbolic link. File already exist

The of course does not exist yet.

How to reproduce:

1) compress in rar whatever folder (es: X)
2) double click on X.rar
3) double on on X directory
4) Click on add file

An error message will show up.

Annoying workaround: Double click on X.rar and add the file directly
there, then cut and copy inside X folder.

[Bug 1224732] Re: Custom keyboard shortcuts don't work

2014-02-22 Thread Rob Koll
After starting System settings - Keyboard, selecting tab Shortcuts,
selecting Custom Shortcuts on t he left hand pane, adding a new one, eg.
thunar, it shows the new short cut and signals not yet having a
keybinding showing the word Disabled. When I attempt to select the line
to enable entering a new binding, it will open the window that allows me
to change the name or command. After closing the window (pressing
cancel), it remains selected. Pressing some key combination (e.g. Super
+ e), the combination is not accepted. When I just press e, a kind of
text box opens down right. But what ever I put there, it is not accepted
as key binding.

[Bug 1258859] Re: computer will randomly lock up

2014-02-22 Thread John Kim
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we cannot work on this bug because your
description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful
to read How to report bugs effectively
http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful
if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem.

We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at
http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures

At a minimum, we need:
1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the
problem,
2. the behavior you expected, and
3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible).
Thanks!

[Bug 1207812] Re: iOS 7, Trust Prompt Looping

2014-02-22 Thread jpvrlaone
After installing the latest libimobildevice updates most of the trust
issues were resolved. But now I have a new irksome problem where each
time I connect my iphone via usb VLC gets mount errors(See below). I
googled exhaustively around and could not find any clues as to fixing
the problem. Most references were regarding smb. Its not a show
stopper but it does need to be addressed.

When I check my .gvfs home directory nothing is listed. I tried creating
the requested files to no avail. This gvfs mounting thing is very cludgy
to me. It is unlike the unix mounting I have experience with. There
appears to be some kind of cross-mounting. It may be related to what I
did in #137 .

Any help is appreciated.

VLC Errors File reading failed: VLC could not open the file
/home/jspot/.gvfs/juser.(No such file or directory)
VLC is unable to open the MRL 'file:///home/jspot/.gvfs/juser'.heck the log for
details.

Accompanying pop up error: Unable to mount juser Location is already
mounted

[Bug 445863] Re: Spell checking doesn't allow US English words when using English language

2014-02-22 Thread Pander
Apparently Empathy is using Enchant for spell checking. It should
properly inspect which dictionaries are installed and differentiate
between en_GB and en_US and other dictionaries available.

One can set manually /org/gnome/empathy/conversation/spell-checker-
languages in dconf to en_GB,en-US,nl if you would like to check
spelling in English (British), American and Dutch. However using
multiple dictionaries at the same time is *NOT* recommended by the spell
checkers, even though the options is offered with Enchant and underlying
checkers.

For proper spell checking, fix this bug as follows:
1) Offer in the Spell Checking tab in Preferences an option Check spelling as
you type (boolean) which enables/disables spell checking
2) When this option is enables, a 1-out-of-N selection is enabled for all
available dictionaries. The user can select only one a time.
3) Offer in the chat dialogues a quick way to switch between the available
dictionaries if spell checking is enabled. Via right click, get immediately a
list of available dictionaries at the bottom of the popup menu. Do not put
these in a separate submenu in order to switch dictionaries quickly. This is
stored the same setting as the setting in Preferences.
4) Later on, implement a default dictionary as above and a per contact or room
dictionary setting that is stored separately.

The solution for me was to load libimobiledevice4_1.1.6-git20140105_amd64.deb.

This can be found here:

[Bug 1283627] [NEW] High CPU usage after unmounting

2014-02-22 Thread Edwin Pujols
Public bug reported:

Context: I have my Ubuntu installation on a portable disk, and another
installation on the internal disk.

If I unmount a partition via the side panel little arrows, Nautilus
starts using 100% of one CPU (core). I wait a few minutes, but the CPU
usage doesn't decrease (checked it with top). Notice that the partition
is unmounted successfully.

I noticed this bug after I tried unmounting a partition: Nautilus
presented me a dialog, and the side panel device buttons became
unresponsive for a particular device (everything else was OK). I guess
this might be a separate bug.

[Bug 1196063] Re: nautilus crashed with SIGSEGV in magazine_chain_pop_head()

2014-02-22 Thread florin
Too bad these bugs still exist after 8-9 months as I could see (I just
reported https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/1283623
and it seems to be a duplicate of this one). I guess nothing will happen
very soon as in 2 months there will be a new Ubuntu with newer Nautilus
 kernel...

[Bug 1274013] Re: gnome-session is broken without 3d acceleration, breaking gnome-flashback on X, VNC and NX/X2GO

2014-02-22 Thread Eugene San
** Description changed:

- In Saucy Salamander, gdm will not start if 3d acceleration is not
- available. This throws an error to /var/log/gdm/:0-greeter.log
+ Gnome-Session 3.8+ enforces usage of 3D, breaking usage of all gnome-
+ session based sessions in non-3D accelerated hardware and environments
+ as plat X, VNC and NX/X2GO. This makes usage of gnome-flashback
+ impossible.
+
+ Overriding 3D checks (sym-linking
/usr/lib/gnome-session/gnome-session-check-* to /bin/true) enables sessions
start but gnome-session segfault few seconds later.
+
+ (Sorry for hijacking this bug, but new gnome-session behavior has much
broader affect then originally reported)
+
+ Original report:

+ In Saucy Salamander, gdm will not start if 3d acceleration is not available.

This is a regression from raring, and is the same if gnome-fallback is
  unavailable.

Possibly the same bug as #1251281, as this shows the same error.

This is preventing me from upgrading to raring, as I run 4 screens on an
Nvidia Quadro NVS 450, meaning 3d is unavailable.
