Not a bug, something must have gone wrong when installing this package.

[Bug 1250948] [NEW] GTK Unicode input is broken (invisible) in Ubuntu 13.10

2014-03-10 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

Up to Ubuntu 13.04, you could open gedit (or any other GTK-rendered
input field), and press Ctrl+Shift+u to enter unicode mode:

An underlined u would appear, and you can type a number followed by
space or enter to insert any unicode symbol.

For example, Ctrl+Shift+u, 2200, enter would insert the unicde FORALL
symbol (∀).

In Ubuntu 13.10, the same still works, but the underlined u and
inserted numbers are INVISIBLE, which is very confusing.

[Bug 878767] Re: No GUI option to change week-starting day

2014-03-10 Thread Daniel Scholtus
Would you please implement this feature?
There are MANY reasons why people needs this..
I'll give you mine if you like:
- I live in Argentina, so my setting on 'Regional Formats' is 'Spanish'.
- I like English, I code in English, etc.. so my Language locale is en_US.
- I'm a 7th Day Adventist, so I believe Saturday is the LAST day of the week.
As far as my configuration goes, It's all almost ok, EXCEPT the damn calendar,
which doesn't follow the Spanish locale neither en_US apparently (I've checked
those files and they have first_day set to '1'...
I'm on Ubuntu 13.10, and it's pretty annoying not to have a trivial menu item
for this...

[Bug 937822] Re: [precise] F10 always opens the menu, cannot be overriden (after xkeyboard-config update)

2014-03-10 Thread Oleg Moiseichuk
I can confirm that upgrading xkb-data package to version 2.5-1ubuntu1.5
in LTS 12.04.4 doesn't resolve the problem. When I disable the mentioned
fix in ~/.config/gtk-3.0/gtk.css (F10 is disabled in terminal keyboard
combinations), F10 press still opens context menu as if Shift-F10 was
pressed.

[Bug 1248368] Re: Volume up/down keyboard keys stoped working after gnome-settings-daemon package update

I see this issue, too (12.04.4 and Lenovo T420). After the gnome-
settings update the volume keys stopped working. The logs show no
warning and error messages... I will try if a rollback to 6.4 will help.

[Bug 1288182] Re: Cyrillic not displayed in the input field

2014-03-10 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. The issue you are reporting is an upstream one and it
would be nice if somebody having it could send the bug to the developers
of the software by following the instructions at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Upstream/GNOME. If you have done so, please
tell us the number of the upstream bug (or the link), so we can add a
bugwatch that will inform us about its status. Thanks in advance.

that). See https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=310208

[Bug 1290442] [NEW] Folder bookmark icons in Nautilus in color instead of black as it used to be.

2014-03-10 Thread Christian Dysthe
Public bug reported:

On a fresh Ubuntu-GNOME 14.04 install icons for folders added as
bookmarks in Nautilus are in color instead of black as the other side
bar icons are. Network place bookmarks are black as they should be. The
color icons for bookmarked folders were not present in Ubuntu GNOME
13.10. See screen shot here where the 'Notes' and BitTorrent' bookmark
icons are in color while the 'Media Storage' for a network share is
black:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/a3esaeygmdrh5qg/BookmarkIconsNautilus.png

I would expect all the icons in the sidebar to have the same color as it
did in previous versions.

[Bug 1289872] [NEW] Bookmarks in sidebar no longer using symbolic icons

2014-03-10 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

Using the development release Trusty 14.04. Nautilus 1:3.10.1-0ubuntu7

I noticed a few days ago (around 6 March) that Nautilus stopped using a
symbolic icon for a folder under Bookmarks in the sidebar of the
Nautilus window. Instead it shows the Humanity theme folder icon.

I tried downgrading to 1:3.10.1-0ubuntu6 which didn't have this problem
but after restarting the symbolic icon was still replaced by the
humanity folder icon. I tried a fresh ubuntu daily iso on a usb memory
stick and got the same result.

[Bug 1282798] Re: [FFe] Provide a lock screen and unlock dialogs in Unity

2014-03-10 Thread Iain Lane
OK. I've had a look at this request. Thanks for the patch to g-s. I had
a brief look at it and I'm not sure why you introduced the lock-request
signal? What happens if the lock fails in manager_lock_request? I think
you leak the GSignals too.

That's only a review from quickly looking at the diff - someone else
should review it properly.

Anyway, I want to give a chance for this to get into Trusty, but I want
to be conservative. So I'll ack this FFe if you can get it in by
Wednesday this week (2014-03-12). We're a month away from final freeze
now and I'm keen to give this as good a run of user testing as possible
before the LTS release.

If not, then I don't want to nack the request—find another RT member
(I'll be away this week) to re-review the state and see if you can try
again.

Please keep an eye on bug reports and feedback and if this doesn't go as
smoothly as we need then we should be prepared to go back to the known
current state and land this solidly next cycle.

[Bug 1290491] [NEW] Localized installation and dual screen

2014-03-10 Thread albundy
Public bug reported:

I have 2 problems with my Ubuntu Gnome 14.04 installation.
Here a details on my setup, I have installed it using English but I'm french so
my keyboard is fr configured and I'm on a laptop so I use an external monitor
as primary screen (I disable the laptop one).
I have also setup LVM with LUKS.

First is each time I restart my laptop, I have to redo the
configuration, it does not remember the fact that laptop screen must be
disabled for example.

The second problem is related to Gnome-Shell, when I have a failure (or
just if I ask for gnome shell restart using ALT+F2 + “r”), I fallback
to keyboard in en and not in fr.

[Bug 1290494] [NEW] Nautilus appearance is not in sync between Unity and GNOME FlashBack sessions

2014-03-10 Thread Norbert
Public bug reported:

Dear Ubuntu developers!

It seems that Nautilus looks different in Unity and GNOME FlashBack sessions.
In Unity it:
* does not have gear button
* does not have close button in right of gear button
* has window title bar with three standard buttons
* has global menu with many standard menus (File, Edit, View, Go, Bookmarks,
Help)

In GNOME FlashBack it:
* does not have title bar (it is not user-friendly)
* does not have standard menus, only have one gear button for settings
* if address bar is long it is non-comfortable to make normal drag and window
move
* has only close button

You can see the attachment for visual comparison.

Please sync Nautilus appearance between Unity and GNOME sessions.
Nautilus looks great in Unity, but please do not forget to make it look better
on GNOME sessions.
There are some users which use GNOME FlashBack sessions, not Unity. Please
respect their choose.

[Bug 1290494] Re: Nautilus appearance is not in sync between Unity and GNOME FlashBack sessions

2014-03-10 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Thank you for your bug report
Nautilus looks great in Unity, but please do not forget to make it look
 better on GNOME sessions.

It looks on GNOME as GNOME upstream designed it...

 Please respect their choose.

That's exactly what we are doing, you use GNOME you get what GNOME
designed. You use Unity you get the Unity changes we did. Not giving to
GNOME user the GNOME version would be the buggy way

[Bug 1282798] Re: [FFe] Provide a lock screen and unlock dialogs in Unity

2014-03-10 Thread Treviño
Thanks for the FFe approval, then:

I'm not sure why you introduced the lock-request signal?

I didn't want to make GSManager (that is a child of GSMonitor) to keep a
reference (even a weak one) of its parent, so the quickest way and the
one that wouldn't have involved too many changes to the GS code, was to
emit a signal that returns a value if the lock is handled.

So, in case unity is running and a lock has been requested, if nothing
fails, unity will handle it and GS will ignore the lock.

What happens if the lock fails in manager_lock_request? I think you
leak the GSignals too.

If something fails here, the signal will return FALSE, an thus, the
normal GS locking will happen; in case unity will be back (if it has
ever been there), then we replace the g-s locking with the native unity
locking again.

I think you leak the GSignals too.

You mean the connections?
Btw I've pushed a new version of the patch...

It seems that problem is fixed with the newest version udisks2 2.1.3-1 in

From NEWS file:
Send SCSI START STOP UNIT when powering down a drive (see this commit -
http://cgit.freedesktop.org/udisks/commit/?id=fcdd8f48b6ac9b1b6da82fdf5f59230fc2ea6feb)
udisksctl: add power-off verb to power off drives (see this commit -
http://cgit.freedesktop.org/udisks/commit/?id=a54c2fa14c522487a78828d4a9dfd89f916a3576)

It spins down my USB-HDDs and flashes. It's great.
