You have to uninstall whole unity and the dependent packages who create
the bug. For that open synaptic and uninstall these packages (you will
find them under broken packages section).

and install mate from repositories (I used the ppa from their official
website).

[Bug 1292936] Crash report cannot be processed

2014-03-18 Thread Apport retracing service
Thank you for your report!

However, processing it in order to get sufficient information for the
developers failed (it does not generate a useful symbolic stack trace). This
might be caused by some outdated packages which were installed on your system
at the time of the report:

outdated debug symbol package for libva1: package version 1.2.1-2 dbgsym
version 1.1.1-3

Please upgrade your system to the latest package versions. If you still
encounter the crash, please file a new report.

Thank you for your understanding, and sorry for the inconvenience!

[Bug 882307] Re: [list-view] After copying text from a rename entry, file copy menus items are broken

2014-03-18 Thread Joseph Naz
I am using 12.04 LTS it's also affecting me.
We're planning to use 12.04 LTS for a longer period of time, but it's sad to
see that it's already about 2 years now and still no resolution to the bug.

there's another bug reported and somebody made a screencast of the problem.
Hope it helps.

[Bug 1293633] Re: ethernet interface is called p1p1

2014-03-18 Thread Martin Pitt
Ah, so you do have biosdevname installed. So apparently Lubuntu
alternate pulls that in? Reassigning to lubuntu meta package.

** Package changed: systemd (Ubuntu) = lubuntu-meta (Ubuntu)

** Changed in: lubuntu-meta (Ubuntu)

** Summary changed:

[Bug 221112]

2014-03-18 Thread Swâmi Petaramesh
I had yet another good reason to revert to a normal right [CTRL] key
on a Fedora this morning:

I was working in a terminal with several open terminal tabs. Switching
between tabs is made using [Ctrl]-[PageUp] and [Ctrl]-[PageDown] - same
goes with other Gnome tabbed apps, as well as Firefox and Chromium...

If you have a working right [Ctrl] key, switching tabs is easy, you just
need 2 fingers from your right hand.

If you don't have a working right [Ctrl] key, you need both hands.

Having the broken right [Ctrl] key was so annoying at work, that I had
to fix it immediately.

[Bug 1230169] [NEW] screensaver turns on while watching youtube video

2014-03-18 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

Screensaver on laptop turns on while watching youtube videos and laptop
is on battery power. It doesn't matter if video is fullscreen or not.
Screen saver turns itself on. This shouldn't happen. If video is playing
it means someone is using the screen. It doesn't happen in windows. i
also didn't see this happening on desktop Kubuntu install. i have not
yet tested media players such as VLC to see if it also happens there.

Hardware: HP dm1 with E-450 APU (using proprietary AMD drivers), 2 GB
RAM, Kubuntu 64bit 13.04 (all updates applied, vanilla install)

[Bug 1294159] [NEW] Option --active doesn't work as expected

2014-03-18 Thread klicki
Public bug reported:

Hi

I am using Ubuntu 13.10 with GNOME-Terminal 3.6.1 (German language):
gnome-terminal:
  Installiert:   3.6.1-0ubuntu6

From an alias definition I try to call it with the following command:
 gnome-terminal --geometry=160x25+20+30 --tab --active --command 'ssh -X -o
ServerAliveInterval=300 oml1' --tab --tab

I expect the terminal to start in the first tab with the ssh-command
supplied, because of the option --active I used. But this doesn't work
as expected. The program displays the last tab instead. Am I wrong? Did
I make a mistake?

[Bug 1294443] [NEW] Password character does not display (blank) when unlocking a lockscreen

2014-03-18 Thread Linux Lover
Public bug reported:

This seems to only affect when one is using Esperanto as the default
language.

Setups to reproduce:

1) Install Gnome Shell (I don't know if it only affects other DE. I will
check it out and update this)

2) Install Esperanto language pack

3) Make Esperanto your logging session
 (
4) Log out

5) Log back in

6) Lock screen (Ctrl + Alt + L )

6) Type password to unlock

a) Should display a symbol (*) to denote that it is receiving input, but
instead it is blank
b) The password character is blank but by typing the correct password one can
still unlock the lock-screen, so that means it is receiving the input correctly.

[Bug 1207812] Re: [FFe] Update libimobiledevice to support iOS 7, fix Trust Prompt Looping

2014-03-18 Thread Timo Jyrinki
@Matthias: he means subscribing to bugs of libimobiledevice + packages
that use it to notice if there are new bugs being filed that would be
due to this update.

For example, https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libimobiledevice/
- Subscribe to bug mail - Give 'Subscription name', doesn't matter
what - Click Create

I guess in this case the reverse dependencies are a bit complicated,
though. Build reverse dependencies ('reverse-dependencies -b
libimobiledevice-dev') show the following but in practice users see
problems with actual programs that eg. use gvfs:

* gnome-mplayer
* gvfs
* ideviceinstaller
* ifuse
* ipheth
* libgpod
* nautilus-ideviceinfo
* upower

Of the ones listed above, only gvfs and upower are installed by default
so those are the points of interest.
