[Bug 1175582] Re: Empathy not displaying any online contacts

2014-05-03 Thread Walter Garcia-Fontes
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to
look at all reported bugs in a timely manner. There have been many
changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem
may have been fixed with some of the updates. It would help us a lot if
you could test it on a currently supported Ubuntu version. When you test
it and it is still an issue, kindly upload the updated logs by running
apport-collect bug # and any other logs that are relevant for this
particular issue.

I can confirm this bug too. But it does not happen everytime, just from
time to time.

My System:
OS: Ubuntu 13.10 saucy
Kernel: x86_64 Linux 3.11.0-20-generic
Gnome 3.9.90
WM: GNOME Shell
GTK Theme: Adwaita [GTK2], Adwaita [GTK3]
CPU: Intel Core i5 CPU M 430 @ 2.267GHz
GPU: GeForce GTS 250M
DRIVER: nvidia-304

I'll try to find something interesting in the logs and append it if it
occurs the next time.

[Bug 775263] Re: Shotwell cannot claim USB Device (-53)

2014-05-03 Thread Jens Askengren
This is basically the problem described here:

https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/shotwell/+question/157569

Shotwell is supposed to popup a dialog asking you to unmount, however
there are cases where this doesn't work. You may have to unmount the
camera in Nautilus before starting Shotwell.

It applies to other MTP-devices as well, not just iPhone.

[Bug 735665] Re: Impossible to disable middle-click paste without breaking the middle mouse button

2014-05-03 Thread supashang
As a coder, this is a really annoying feature. I am most of the time in
a Mumble channel chatting to friends as well as coding. My talk button
is set to my middle mouse button and each time I chat I unknowingly
paste clipboard data into my code. This causes the compiler to freak out
and has me tracking down the code that the Middle Mouse Paste feature
has pasted into my scripts!

I'm using Ubuntu 14.04 LTS.

[Bug 1246272] Re: Keyboard layout changing randomly

Same problem with fresh install of Ubuntu Gnome 14.04. Happens also
randomly, but I noticed that after gnome shell crashes, keyboard changes
to something else (US?). Finnish keyboard is set to first priority, no
other keyboard set on settings. System language is English.

[Bug 829169] Re: Archive Manager refuses to open zip-type archives

2014-05-03 Thread dino99
Feedback:

My previous issue was with zip files selected and downloaded from midori
(0.4.3) browser links.
First strange issue, the downloaded file was created where chosen but empty (a
real full copy was done into /temp dir). After either cut/paste to the right
path or filling the 0 byte file created with it content from the /tmp dir, then
that zip file cant be loaded/extracted, neither directly nor from a terminal.
That is; so i've used chromium as the browser to select and download the same
zip files. And that time there is no more issue with these zip files !!!

So it seems a midori issue to me.
As the OP have not made comment since a long time, i close that report.

[Bug 1315705] [NEW] [Acer Aspire 5750-9668] touchpad doesn't scroll with one finger on extreme right in GNOME Flashback (Metacity)

2014-05-03 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
Public bug reported:

1) lsb_release -rd
Description:Ubuntu 14.04 LTS
Release:14.04

2) apt-cache policy gnome-session-flashback
gnome-session-flashback:

B: PROP=9
B: EV=b
B: KEY=6420 3 0 0 0 0
B: ABS=26080001103

3) What is expected to happen is when one logs into the GNOME Session
Flashback (Metacity) touchpad scrolling with one finger on the extreme
right works by default, or if not, it's configurable via GUI.

4) What happens instead is it is not.

WORKAROUND: Two finger scrolling works.

WORKAROUND: If one logs out, and logs into either xfce or Xubuntu, one
finger scrolling works. Hence, this would appear to be an issue with
GNOME Session Flashback (Metacity) versus HW or other problem.

[Bug 1224732] Re: Custom keyboard shortcuts don't work

2014-05-03 Thread McFry
Can confirm same behaviour in Xubuntu 14.04. Using XFCE's
Settings-Keyboard-Application Shortcut to assign shortcuts to special
/multimedia keys (showing with XF86* prefix like XF86Music) on my
Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Keyboard.

Assigning keys worked at first, and the shortcut seem to work randomly
after boot. One time after boot they work, next time I reboot they don't
work at all. Seems to be completely random after booting. This is very
annoying.

2014-05-03 Thread Mike H
I ahve the same problem with Ubuntu 14.04. 100% CPU activity, and unable
to unmount because of the broken pipe error.

Could you please consider to reverse the status back from
'INCOMPLETE' to 'CONFIRMED' (again).

There would /seem/ to be a real issue which has been confirmed

This indeed looks like the kernel is at fault. I don't know much
bluetooth (I'm more into the audio side of things), so can't help
 further. Sorry.

[Bug 1182205] Re: totem freezes after changing/disabling subtitle on mp4 files.

2014-05-03 Thread Eduardo Coimbra Matos
Running Linux Mint 16 Petra Cinnamon, same problem here. Just realized
that it freezes when you try to switch off subtitles from the context
menu (right click on movie screen) but not from the view menu on the
toolbar. Also doesn't freeze when you switch from one to another
subtitle. Hope it helps.

[Bug 1283003] Re: [Bluetooth + 14.04] Bluetooth headsets are not working after last couple of updates

2014-05-03 Thread Mário Saleiro
Hi, I'm also having issues with Bluetooth on a fresh install of Ubuntu
14.04. I have the RT3290 chipset and had to patch and compile the
Bluetooth driver from source. After installing the Bluetooth driver, the
Bluetooth icon shows up as expected and I can try to pair with other
devices. I tested with Logitech Bluetooth Headset for iPad2 and with a
Siliphone Bluetooth Speaker. Both worked perfectly fine under Ubuntu
12.04. However, when I try to pair the devices I always get something
like Failure configuring device (not this exact words because my
Ubuntu is not in english). It happens with both. I also tried with
bluez-simple-agent and I get the error Creating device failed:
org.bluez.Error.AuthenticationFailed: Authentication Failed. It never
prompted me to input any passkey. When testing I also noticed that the
Bluetooth tray icon gets a small lock next to it.

[Bug 296867]

2014-05-03 Thread Xavier Claessens
Here it is! It is limited to XMPP, and empathy has only rudimentary UI.
To start an OTR session, in empathy chat window, type /otr start. Type
/help otr to see other supported otr actions. There is no graphical UI
atm.

Notably, to authenticate the other end, you need to verify its
fingerprint by other means, like IRL or phone, etc, then type /otr
trust. It remembers fingerprints you trust of course, so you won't have
to repeat that for each conversation.

I tested this between empathy and pidgin-otr only.

Gabble: http://cgit.collabora.com/git/user/xclaesse/telepathy-
gabble.git/log/?h=otr

Empathy:
http://cgit.collabora.com/git/user/xclaesse/empathy.git/log/?h=otr

I hacked this on my free time.

[Bug 1315579] Re: When using scim-m17n in gedit, the backspace and delete keys are dysfunctional

2014-05-03 Thread Swarup Dev
Note: In order to get scim-m17n functional in 14.04:
1. Install scim
2. Install scim-m17n
3. Add ppa:gunnarhj/misc to your system's Software Sources. Until you do
this, the m17n packages will not work.
