[Bug 1242678]

2015-01-08 Thread Marek Kašík
Created attachment 111925
Rotate documents correctly

I've prepared a simple patch which also solves this problem. It just rotates
what we get from ghostscript at pixel level. It takes more time than rendering
it directly to the format we want but it works.
I'm just not sure about slice rendering. Should the result be slice from
rotated page or rotated slice from page?

[Bug 1322925] Re: Copy, paste stops working randomly in Ubuntu 14.04 nautilus

2015-01-08 Thread Mathew Hodson
** Description changed:

- The title says it.
+ [Impact]

Since upgrade to 14.04, copy / cut / paste of files among various
folders I have write rights on does not work most of the times.

- Using the terminal to copy / move does work normally.
+ [Test Case]
+
+ 1. Open a Nautilus window.
+ 2. Go to location with write permission
+ 3. Select a file and try to rename.
+ 4. When prompted to rename (filename becomes a text entry), open new tab.
+ 5. Select a file, try to copy and paste. You will see that file is not copied
and pasted.
+ 6. Go back to original tab. If the file that was selected in step 3 is still
selected, unselect it.
+ 7. Try to copy and paste. It should work.
+ 8. Try to rename again, and open new tab.
+ 9. Close old tab, and try to copy and paste. It won't work, and there is no
way to restore, except opening a new window.

[Bug 1322925] Re: Copy, paste stops working randomly in Ubuntu 14.04 nautilus

2015-01-08 Thread Ahmad Syukri Abdollah
circum, nemo is probably affected in a different manner. This bug is
specific to nautilus in the way it occurs, and the patch only fixes the
core program. (The library isn't affected, but nemo doesn't use it
anyway.)

If the package is from Ubuntu's repository, please create a bug report here
instead:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nemo
(but version 2.0.8 seems to be from PPA)

[Bug 1408624] [NEW] Improve application management for file opening

2015-01-08 Thread Karl-Philipp Richter
Public bug reported:

I'd be nice to have the following possibilities when dealing the the
list of applications which can open a file:

  * Remove entries for the list of applications (I know that can be done
somehow by editing files in `~/.local/share/applications`)
  * Add entries with custom commands, e.g. allow opening of .jnlp files with
`javaws` (this usecase is currently not covered)
  * Add a quick search text field in order to filter entries in the list of
available applications in order to improve the overview

[Bug 510059] Re: Gvfs keeps asking for password when trying to mount Samba share

2015-01-08 Thread freacert
some note of my side.

Problem started when i tried to connect to a Samba4 machine (ubuntu 14.04.1)
from a 12.04. I had the password loop on the 14.04. to try and reach the 12.04
(samba 3.6.3-2).
So I thought, I update the 12.04 with samba4. Now I have the password loop on
that machine aswell. Keeps on asking for a password.

Uninstalled and purged samba. Reinstalled samba 3.6.3-2 , all to no avail.
Now I dont have samba installed, and trying to reach a network share from
Connect to Server it still doesnot accept my password.

Looking at the samba.cfg file on the nas, running Alt-F
(http://sourceforge.net/projects/alt-f) i only find a file where the
shares are defined.

Desperate to solve this VERY annoying problem.

[Bug 1406947] Re: failed to apply ACL on /dev/drv/card1

Can you please check if getfacl /dev/dri/card0 shows an ACL? (Just
copypaste the whole output). I suppose at some point early in the boot
process you might even have a second one, but ubuntu-drivers-common's
selection between multiple graphics cards might just disable the second
one and thus this is just a race condition.

During start up of Ubuntu 14.04, the message failed to apply ACL on

[Bug 1322925] Re: Copy, paste stops working randomly in Ubuntu 14.04 nautilus

2015-01-08 Thread Brian Murray
Hello Helmut, or anyone else affected,

Accepted nautilus into trusty-proposed. The package will build now and
be available at
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/1:3.10.1-0ubuntu9.5 in a
few hours, and then in the -proposed repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how to
enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this update
out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug,
mentioning the version of the package you tested, and change the tag
from verification-needed to verification-done. If it does not fix the
bug for you, please add a comment stating that, and change the tag to
verification-failed. In either case, details of your testing will help
us make a better decision.

Further information regarding the verification process can be found at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification . Thank you in
advance!

[Bug 1405441] Re: nautilus crashes when trying to view the properties of /var/lib/clamav with gksudo or sudo

2015-01-08 Thread Bruce Pieterse
[Impact]

 * Prevents a user from use sudo or gksudo to view or change the owner
properties of folder not owned by root. In this case clamav

 * This also fixes the following upstream bug report which has not been
reported on launchpad: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=700492

 * The debdiff above applies a fix from upstream gnome git:
https://git.gnome.org/browse/nautilus/commit/?id=f7d1394a03e6d02cd5c67f9c85a142e33f14566f
but has been fixed in 3.14.2 of nautilus and is not present in vivid

[Test Case]

* Install gksu and clamav (sudo apt-get install gksu clamav)
* Run gksudo nautilus from the terminal
* Navigate to /var/lib and right-click on the folder clamav and click on
Properties
* Nautilus crashes with a segfault in _IO_vfprintf_internal

[Regression Potential]

* Won't be able to view properties for both root and non-root accounts.
* Nautilus would crash at any attempt to view any property information of
folder in the file system.
* Won't be able to save changes to properties that have changed.

[Other Info]
* I have tested the above potential regressions and unable to produce a crash.

[Bug 1401488] Re: [regression] Mir servers (since 0.9) randomly crash in malloc due to heap corruption

2015-01-08 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
This bug was fixed in the package mir - 0.10.0+15.04.20150107.2-0ubuntu1

---
mir (0.10.0+15.04.20150107.2-0ubuntu1) vivid; urgency=medium

  [ Daniel van Vugt ]
  * New upstream release 0.10.0 (https://launchpad.net/mir/+milestone/0.10.0)
- Enhancements:
. Added support for Android HWC 1.3 devices.
. Plumbing/preparation to support external displays on Android devices.
  . Reduced build dependencies.
. Client API: Added version macros.
. Began work on automatic driver probing, to intelligently choose the
best driver for you.
. Demo shell (mir_proving_server): Added desktop zoom feature using
Super + mouse wheel.
  . Demo renamed: mir_demo_server_shell - mir_proving_server
. Other demo servers merged into - mir_demo_server
. Wider support for display buffer pixel formats in the mesa driver, for
wider hardware support.
. Performance: On mesa/desktop at least; only hold compositor buffers
for the duration of the render, instead of the duration of the frame.
Following this change the compositor report can now finally report
render time instead of frame time.
. Mir now starts reliably when a TV is connected by HDMI, and up to
4K resolution (2160p) is known to work.
. Plenty more enhancements logged in the bugs list below.
- ABI summary: Servers need rebuilding, but clients do not;
. Mirclient ABI unchanged at 8
. Mircommon ABI unchanged at 3
. Mirplatform ABI bumped to 5
. Mirserver ABI bumped to 28
- Bug fixes:
. [regression] Mir servers (since 0.9) randomly crash in malloc due to
heap corruption (LP: #1401488)
. USC - mouse cursor on AMD graphics is drawing incorrectly
(LP: #1391975)
. Mir fails to start when a TV is connected by HDMI
[std::exception::what: Invalid or inconsistent display configuration]
(LP: #1395405)
. Input/event driven clients may freeze indefinitely (LP: #1396006)
. Mir server crashes with std::exception::what: Failed to get front
buffer object when trying to fullscreen a surface (LP: #1398296)
. Switching windows with a Trusted Prompt Session active loses the
trusted prompt session (LP: #1355173)
. CI test failure in multiple tests (LP: #1401364)
  . dh_install: usr/bin/mir_demo_server exists in debian/tmp but is not
installed to anywhere (LP: #1401365)
. [regression] demo-shell: Instead of moving surfaces they now fly
off-screen (LP: #1403702)
. [regression] Binaries are no longer runnable on other machines (or in
other directories) (LP: #1406073)
. [i865] unity-system-compositor fails to start: Failed to choose ARGB
EGL config (LP: #1212753)
. Mir's compositor holds buffers (blocking clients) for the duration of
the frame, even when not necessary. (LP: #1264934)
. Screen goes blank (black) briefly during display config changes which
don't affect the display mode (LP: #1274359)
. [enhancement] There should be a quit signal sent to sessions instead
of killing them directly (LP: #1304257)
. MirMotionEvent.action needs stronger typing (to MirMotionAction etc)
(LP: #1311699)
. CompositorReport as used by DefaultDisplayBufferCompositor can't
measure render time (LP: #1350716)
. Full screen (bypassed) surfaces (e.g. GLMark2Test) are missing frames
and appear to freeze or judder with swap interval 0 (LP: #1379685)
. Trusted prompts need to be part of the lifecycle (LP: #1384950)
  . [testfail] BasicThreadPool.recycles_threads in CI (LP: #1391488)
  . acceptance_tests are too chatty (LP: #1394221)
. mir_connection_create_surface callback is sometimes called twice on
error (LP: #1394873)
. File descriptor leaks in tests using UsingStubClientPlatform
(LP: #1395762)
. DisplayLayout resizes a surface to 1x1 if you ask it to fullscreen a
surface that's partially offscreen (LP: #1398294)
. Surfaces can consume input events before they're visible.
(LP: #1400218)
  . dpkg-shlibdeps: Lots of warnings about libmirplatformstub.so
(LP: #1401373)
. Leaks in death tests can cause subsequent tests in the same process to

[Bug 1405867] Re: Settings Appearance Wallpaper does not change wallpaper

2015-01-08 Thread jerrylamos
Yes, The menu is just fine, New Folder, New Document, etc...Change Desktop
Background.
Change Desktop Background results in a window with Settings Appearance,
however the background does not change even though a different background is
selected.

How do I get Systems Settings Appearance Wallpaper to change short
of re-booting?

Right clicking the desktop and selecting Change Desktop Background
didn't.

Anything else to try?

Hello Egon, or anyone else affected,

Accepted gdm into utopic-proposed. The package will build now and be
available at
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gdm/3.10.0.1-0ubuntu7.1 in a few
hours, and then in the -proposed repository.
