[Bug 1437700] [NEW] Active file selection is not removed on a new search result
Public bug reported: Steps to reproduce: 1) Search for a file so that exactly one file is found 2) Select the file 3) Copy it (Ctrl+C) and paste it to another folder 4) Search for a new file so that exactly one file is found, but don't clear the file selection 5) Observe, that despite a new result, the file selection is still active Now, confusing things will follow: 6) Copy the file as it's already selected and paste it the to same folder as the previous file 7) Observe, that an overwrite confirmation dialog opens. The file selection was pointing to the previous file despite the fact that the new file was highlighted during copy. What should happen: - The file selection/highlight should be removed on a new search result so that user has to explicitly select the new file. [Bug 1436297] Re: Nautilus launcher icon matching issue (seems due to desktop rename)
A workaround for the missing bookmarks is to is to unlock the nautilus shortcut from the launcher and instead drag across /usr/share/applications/nautilus.desktop and lock that to the launcher (in the files view of that folder three items show as Files, it is the one that is about 600 bytes long that is wanted). Then to fix the duplicate icon problem add to the end of the [Desktop Entry] section of that file the line StartupWMClass=nautilus -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to nautilus in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1436297 Title: Nautilus launcher icon matching issue (seems due to desktop rename) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/1436297/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 1437742] [NEW] gnome-terminal never returns after heavy load btrfs operations (defragment, balance, etc.)
Public bug reported: Running `btrfs` commands which cause heavy system load (e.g. `btrfs filesystem defragment`, `btrfs balance`, etc.) in `gnome-terminal` causes the terminal never to return and use one CPU core at 100 % forever. There's no connection to the system load because interrupting that command (e.g. `btrfs filesystem defragment` with `SIGSTOP`) don't make `gnome-terminal` return, but keep hanging forever. If you install xkb-data from my PPA and relogin, the new layout should become available in Text Entry. Please let us know if you think this would be an improvement. P.S. @J. S. There is not definitive solution to this problem, which is very annoying for Brazilians, it is easy to see, by googling cedilla linux, or cedilla ubuntu, how many people is searching for a definitive solution for this problem. Currently, one can get the ç character with Alt-Gr + comma, or Alt + comma, but these are not adequate solutions, particularly because this is not good for touch typing nor is the standard historic behaviour. I have suggested in many forums, bug trackers, etc, that a new keyboard layout should be available on installation, which should be called, for example, US-International with dead-keys (cedilla) There are already many keyboard layouts available, and having one more solving this problem for all of us brazilians would be great, and the solution appears to be simple, but we could not get this to be implemented as of yet. At this point, there have been linux versions in which the ç was the default result of the combined strokes, but now, in the most recent versions (Ubuntu 13.10, for instance), it is back to the accented c, which makes my upgrades, particularly for my parents and friends, an enormous headache. Please help us so that this simple addition reach to correct people. [Bug 1437574] [NEW] systemd-journald[221]: Failed to create new system journal: No such file or directory
Public bug reported: Get this logged into syslog: systemd-journald[221]: /var/log/journal/efe9c2428e64e7a70a91277254016fe6/system.journal: Journal file has been deleted, rotating. kernel: [ 4647.247581] systemd-journald[221]: Failed to create new system journal: No such file or directory from freedesktop doc: By default, the journal stores log data in /run/log/journal/. Since /run/ is volatile, log data is lost at reboot. To make the data persistent, it is sufficient to create /var/log/journal/ where systemd-journald will then store the data. so i've created /var/log/journal/ subdir, and the data is well stored (owner:root, group:systemd-journal). But i've seen that data continue to be added every cold boot after every cold boot. That gives mixed session data, which seems not the best way to get easy readable session's data log. So now i delete /var/log/journal/* before shutdown to get a clean new journal on next cold boot session. But then the error above is logged, even if the journal is created in fact. So it's like a false positive error. What systemd should do: - rotate itself each journal's session instead of concataning all the data inside /var/log/journal/ like other logs ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 15.04 Package: systemd 219-5ubuntu1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.19.0-10.10-generic 3.19.2 Uname: Linux 3.19.0-10-generic i686 NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia ApportVersion: 2.16.2-0ubuntu5 Architecture: i386 CurrentDesktop: GNOME Date: Sat Mar 28 08:01:02 2015 Lsusb: Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub Bus 003 Device 002: ID 046d:c50e Logitech, Inc.
