[Bug 1479907] Re: [Ffe] Support installing Language packs from gnome-control-center

2015-09-14 Thread Tim
It was added in the cycle that u-s-d/u-c-c were forked, then the ui
patches got broken by gtk 3.8 transition from egglist box to Gtk list
box, and were left to rot... its nots used by any of the unity stack and
I can't imagine why anyone else would want to use it.

2015-09-14 Thread Дима
I've got the same bug on Ubuntu 15.04. I have notebook and lg display.
When I set notebook display to be on the left and down of lg display,
icons are floating in the "black zone". When I press Win+S I can see
them in "out of range" zone.

[Bug 1495479] [NEW] Strange dimming affect when setting sRGB image as desktop background image and activating desktop icons

2015-09-14 Thread The Unknown
Public bug reported:

I have recently noticed that when setting sRGB images as the desktop
image, and having the desktop icons active (gsettings set
org.gnome.desktop.background show-desktop-icons true) that there is a
strange dimming affect, so I turn my machine on, log on, and then I see
my image normally for a few seconds, then suddenly it is dimmed and
stays like that, there are only a few seconds on login that I can then
see it normally for.

But I find that if I set desktop icons to inactive (gsettings set
org.gnome.desktop.background show-desktop-icons false) that the problem
goes away until I reactivate them, in which case the immediate moment
that I turn them back on in the settings the desktop image dims.

However this does not occur with just normal RGB or PNG images.

[Bug 1433165] Re: evince fails to run due to a gdk_mir_display_open

2015-09-14 Thread Seth Arnold
Alan, those are some surprising errors. It looks a lot like you've got /
symlinked to /mnt/stoarge0/ or something else similar.

If so, you'd probably be better served with a rule like:

alias / -> /mnt/storage0/,

in the /etc/apparmor.d/tunables/alias file.

Then you could clean up the @{HOME} variable to only the paths actually
used for home directories (the dpkg-reconfigure apparmor question) and
drastically tighten the security policy while also allowing the accesses
that need to happen.

Thanks

[Bug 1433165] Re: evince fails to run due to a gdk_mir_display_open

2015-09-14 Thread Alan Meekins
I've tried every suggestion in this thread and still seeing issues. At
first I was getting the exact same error as the original poster, after
adding variants(symlinks and non-symlinks)of all the denied paths and
possibly associated directors:

/home/ /mnt/storage0/home/ /home/user/ /mnt/storage0/home/user/
/usr/share/locale-langpack/en/LC_MESSAGES/ /mnt/storage0/usr/share
/locale-langpack/en/LC_MESSAGES/ /usr/share/glib-2.0/schemas/

Running evince now produces the following crash and dmesg output.
Thoughts?

[Bug 1495781] Re: Can't move to trash in data partition

2015-09-14 Thread CzBiX
** Description changed:

I have a clean install of Ubuntu 15.04.

- I partitioned my disk into / (20GB) and /data (230GB) partitions.
- I then created /data/home/ubuntu, moved my /home there, and bind mounted
/home to /data/home/ubuntu.
- I then created symlinks for ~/Downloads, ~/Music, etc... to /data/Downloads,
/data/Music, etc...

+ I then created ~/Data folder, and mount data partition on it.
+ I then created symlinks for ~/Downloads, ~/Music, etc... to ~/Data/Downloads,
~/Data/Music, etc...

Whenever I delete files directly inside ~/ they seem to go to the Trash
(in ~/.local/share/Trash), but when I try to delete files in other
- folders that are linked to /data (for example ~/Downloads, or
- /data/Downloads) Nautilus says: "File can't be put in the trash. Do you
+ folders that are linked to ~/Data (for example ~/Downloads, or
+ ~/Data/Downloads) Nautilus says: "File can't be put in the trash. Do you

I compile the code without patch at
  https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gvfs/+bug/1445622/comments/25,
  then it works well.

[Bug 1450960] Re: dev file system is mounted without nosuid

2015-09-14 Thread Martin Pitt
Feedback from upstream at https://github.com/systemd/systemd/pull/1265 :
Apparently noexec on /dev breaks some drivers which expose memory-mapped
devices in /dev/. So retitling for "nosuid" only. systemd already does
that, initramfs-tools doesn't yet, but the attached patch needs to be
modified to only set "nosuid".

I committed http://anonscm.debian.org/cgit/pkg-
systemd/systemd.git/commit/?id=470c174f so that under sysvinit and
without initramfs-tools udev will now mount /dev with "nosuid" as well.
This case doesn't apply to Ubuntu, so once again closing the systemd
task.

** Summary changed:

- dev file system is mounted without noexec
+ dev file system is mounted without nosuid

** Changed in: systemd (Ubuntu)
   Status: In Progress => Invalid

** Changed in: initramfs-tools (Ubuntu)
   Status: Triaged => Fix Committed

[Bug 1406376] Re: Can't move to trash in data partition

2015-09-14 Thread CzBiX
This bug is caused by the patch at
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=748248.

Ubuntu applied the patch in 2.44.0-1ubuntu3.

I compile glib without this patch, then issues resolved.

[Bug 1495781] [NEW] Can't move to trash in data partition

2015-09-14 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

I have a clean install of Ubuntu 14.10.

I partitioned my disk into / (20GB) and /data (230GB) partitions.
I then created /data/home/ubuntu, moved my /home there, and bind mounted /home
to /data/home/ubuntu.
I then created symlinks for ~/Downloads, ~/Music, etc... to /data/Downloads,
/data/Music, etc...

Whenever I delete files directly inside ~/ they seem to go to the Trash
(in ~/.local/share/Trash), but when I try to delete files in other
folders that are linked to /data (for example ~/Downloads, or
/data/Downloads) Nautilus says: "File can't be put in the trash. Do you
want to delete it immediately?".

I compile the code without patch at
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gvfs/+bug/1445622/comments/25,
then it works well.

[Bug 1495677] [NEW] "Save" only saves and does not exit on dialog that comes up if you attempt to exit with unsaved changes

that I have ever used, and I have used many, and it also does not do this in
previous versions of gedit) would save, and then exit, but instead it just
saves, and then you have to press the "x" button again to close.

Now I think that as gedit used to do, and every other text editing
program does, it should save and then exit without you needing to click
the "x" again.

[Bug 1248720] Re: Bluetooth ON/OFF button switches OFF automatically

2015-09-14 Thread Bin Li
** Description changed:

I am on ThinkPad T61 with Ubuntu 13.10 installed. I disabled bluetooth
  on startup by adding:

  "echo disable > /proc/acpi/ibm/bluetooth"

  to /etc/rc.local. When I open gnome-control-center -> Bluetooth and
click on the "ON/OFF" switch button, it switches on for a fraction of a
second and then switches back to off. Below are dmesg lines
  corresponding to this event:

  [ 94.028110] usb 3-1: new full-speed USB device number 5 using uhci_hcd
  [ 94.194320] usb 3-1: New USB device found, idVendor=0a5c, idProduct=2110
  [ 94.194325] usb 3-1: New USB device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2,
SerialNumber=0
  [ 94.194328] usb 3-1: Product: BCM2045B
  [ 94.194330] usb 3-1: Manufacturer: Broadcom Corp
  [ 94.388169] usb 3-1: USB disconnect, device number 5

-
- The workaround is to type "turn connectivity on/off" combination of my
keyboard (FN+F5) -- then both wireless and bluetooth go off, and when I type it
again, bluetooth comes back ON.

+ [Impact]
+
+ * On trusty, we met this issue, you can't turn on/off bluetooth, it
+ affected the other OEM project which needed by Lenovo, HP and Dell.
+
+ [Test Case]
+
+ * open the unity-control-center, and select 'Bluetooth', try to turn
+ on/off in top checkbox.
+
+ [Regression Potential]
+
+ * The patch was already accepted in lp:unity-control-center, just
+ cherry picked into trusty, so no potential regression.

[Bug 1450960] Re: dev file system is mounted without noexec

2015-09-14 Thread Martin Pitt
Applied the udev.init change in http://anonscm.debian.org/cgit/pkg-
systemd/systemd.git/commit/?id=63dff1e2132b for Debian. But it is
totally irrelevant for Ubuntu, as we don't support SysV init. Under
upstart /etc/init/udev does not do any mounting, it relies on mountall
to do that, thus this needs to be added to /lib/init/fstab. systemd
already mounts it with MS_NOSUID (but not with MS_NOEXEC).

But in all cases the dominating and important thing here is initramfs-
tools, where /dev is usually mounted.

** Changed in: systemd (Ubuntu)
   Status: Triaged => Invalid

** Also affects: initramfs-tools (Ubuntu)
