[Bug 1500228] [NEW] When scrolling back up some of the bottom comes up as a sort of sleeve

2015-09-27 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

I have recently noticed that when viewing a manpage in gnome-terminal
that if scrolling down, when I scroll back up again some of the bottom
part of the page comes up too sort of like a sleeve. I have attached
some example screenshots, so I ran 'man dpkg' and this is what it looked
like initially dpkg_man_top1.png, but when I scrolled down to the bottom
of the page and then back up again to the top, the top looked somewhat
different as you can see: dpkg_man_top2.png. Now, it wouldn't matter
where I had scrolled down to, nor where I had gone up to, the effect
witnessed would have been the same.

[Bug 1500237] [NEW] some menu items do not initially appear in HUD

2015-09-27 Thread Casey
Public bug reported:

When running certain programs that use Jayatana, such as Jabref
(http://jabref.sourceforge.net/), some menu items do not appear in the
HUD searches until one has opened the corresponding menu at least once.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Download and install JabRef.
2. Launch Jabref.
3. Press Alt to bring up the HUD interface and search for "quit" (which resides
under the File menu). Confirm that "quit" does not surface.
4. After clicking on the File menu once, "quit" now appears in HUD searches.

These steps reliably reproduce the bug for me in Ubuntu 15.04.

[Bug 1453174] [NEW] Opening of magnet links broken

2015-09-27 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

When clicking on a magnet link, transmission-remote-gtk always displays
the error "invalid or corrupt torrent file". This seems to be caused by
xdg-open slightly modifying the link:

$ xdg-open "magnet:?xt=urn:btih:9BE2..."

results in

$ transmission-remote-gtk "magnet:///?xt=urn:btih:9BE2..."

which causes the problem mentioned.

I'm using transmission-remote-gtk 1.1.1-1 from vivid.

[Bug 1283003] Re: [Bluetooth + 14.04] Bluetooth headsets are not working after last couple of updates

2015-09-27 Thread Walter Lapchynski
Currently, on Lubuntu Trusty, I have no problems with Skullcandy Hesh 2 and:
 * kernel 3.13.0-63-generic #103
 * pulseaudio 1:4.0-0ubuntu11.1+kxstudio1 (I did not test with the standard
Canonical version, sorry)
 * bluez 4.101-0ubuntu13.1
 * blueman 1.23-git201403102151-1ubuntu

though I will note it's not always as seamless as I would like. I've discovered
elsewhere people suggesting that the adapter is turned on after pulse does its
check for bluetooth adapters. That leaves you two choices:
 1. pactl load-module module-bluetooth-discover && pulseaudio -k (note actually
sending a KILL signal to the daemon may get it unstuck if it's not behaving)
 2. remove the conditional from /etc/pulse/default.pa regarding loading
module-bluetooth-discover
neither of which are particularly elegant, but oh well.

This and similar issues are ultimately an aesthetic issue, though, and
deserve a separate bug report, as this more general one has brown
extensive enough. From my experience, audio sink service (A2DP) *IS*
possible with current versions.

I'm inclined to call this fixed, unless I hear otherwise from folks.

[Bug 959888] Re: Volume is busy. "Unmount Anyway" never works.

2015-09-27 Thread Bryan
I have seen this same problem. If you loose network connectivity while
transferring data from a network drive and you try to cancel the
transfer and unmount the drive you get this dialog.

Clicking either "cancel" or "unmount anyway" does nothing and just pops
up the same dialog again. This is an infinite loop and since the dialog
is modal, as Nicolas noted, you are pretty much SOL at this point.

[Bug 1500228] Re: When scrolling back up some of the bottom comes up as a sort of sleeve

2015-09-27 Thread Egmont Koblinger
The half-painted line suggests that it's a bug in gnome-terminal/vte, or
some component underneath (Gtk+, X, video driver)... No app running
inside the terminal, no matter how buggy, should be able to produce such
partial lines.

Nikita, how do you scroll exactly? Using the Up/Down or PageUp/PageDown
keys, or mouse, touchpad...?

Is it only gnome-terminal that you upgraded from Gnome3 staging, or the
entire Gnome stack? Any chance you could test whether mainstream Vivid
or Wily beta suffers from this bug?

The extra black padding at the bottom of the screenshots suggests that
the window is maximized or fullscreened. Can you reproduce the bug if
you manually resize the terminal to almost as big as this one, but not
maximized/fullscreen? Or any other smaller size? (In that case less's
status line will be at the bottom of the window.)

What's the value of $LESS ? (What I'm interested in is whether 'X' is
there, I assume not.)

What's the terminal size, as reported by "stty size"? Seems to me it's
150x37, correct?

2015-09-27 Thread teo1978
It is fixed in 15.04

So I guess this means it's fixed upstream and you need to check whether
the fix is in place for previous non-dead ubuntu versions, such as 14.04
and 12.04

[Bug 1500228] Re: When scrolling back up some of the bottom comes up as a sort of sleeve

2015-09-27 Thread Colin Watson
This isn't the fault of the manual page documents themselves. I'm not
sure exactly what *is* going wrong here; it's probably either a bug in
the terminal emulator itself or a bug in the pager you're using. You
should add information to this bug about what pager you're using (if you
don't know, it's probably "less", but perhaps you changed it).

** Package changed: manpages (Ubuntu) => gnome-terminal (Ubuntu)

[Bug 1314556] Re: Unable to mount Android MTP device

2015-09-27 Thread Roger James
Same problem on 15.04 with an HTC Desire 820. Unable to mount android
phone message and then an empty nautilus browser window. Is this
something to do with the transient usb mass storage device that phones
with this chipset reports on the usb bus for a while after first
connection. This is formatted as a windows file system and contains a
windows installer for the phone.
