[Bug 1292041] Re: Lockscreen doesn't turn off the screen

2016-07-22 Thread Arup
Same issue here on 16.04.1 as #45 and earlier. On my desktop with
external AOC monitor attached to HDMI of my Nvidia 610 card, monitor
would not turn off but go to lock screen and stay there. This happens
after initial suspend of monitor but when I come out of full system
suspend, monitor goes to Unity greeter that requires password to login
but never shuts off. Driver is 361.42 from drivers applet.

[Bug 1605802] [NEW] Software Center still fails to install third-party .deb packages

2016-07-22 Thread Brian
Public bug reported:

Bug #1573206 is persisting in 16.04.1. Clean installation of 16.04.1
downloaded from Ubuntu website. Attempted to install Chrome using the
.deb downloaded from their website. Software Center doesn't install,
begins to hang just as it did before it was marked as fixed. Fix was
supposed to be rolled into the point one ISO per comments in that
tracker, but I am still experiencing it.

[Bug 1573206] Re: GNOME Software does not install third-party .deb packages

2016-07-22 Thread Jeremy Bicha
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1573408 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1573408

@Peter please file a new bug about your issue since this particular bug
is fixed, especially with a fresh install of Ubuntu 16.04. Please
include specifics since there isn't enough information in your comment
here for developers to know what exactly isn't working.

You may find it helpful to read "How to report bugs effectively"
http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful
if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem.

We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at
http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures.

At a minimum, we need:
1. The specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the
problem.
2. The behavior you expected.
3. The behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible).
Thanks!

[Bug 1576424] Re: Gimp crashes with text tool & caps lock

2016-07-22 Thread z3z
I'm the original submitter of this bug. I ended up reinstalling Ubuntu
14.04 because of this issue, as Gimp is an essential package for me and
it was unusable because of the crashes.

Today I tried installing the new Ubuntu 16.04.01 release in a spare
partition in the hope that it had been fixed, but no joy. Bug is still
present in the updated release and I can reliably crash Gimp with the
caps lock key. I have no issues on Ubuntu 14.04.4.

[Bug 1584228] Re: Cannot access password-protected samba shares

2016-07-22 Thread Vasya Pupkin
Anyone can report it upstream because it's not limited to my system.
Just set up a virtual machine with Samba server and try to access
password-protected share. I reported bug here because I use Ubuntu. If I
used my own distribution, I would, of course, report bugs upstream. Also
I am sure that bug is already fixed upstream long time ago.

[Bug 1061195] Re: Evolution appears unable to create EWS or Exchange MAPI account

2016-07-22 Thread Dan Lenski
I had pretty much the exact same experience as @scottbomb: EWS account
creation worked find for me on 14.04-15.10, but then I tried adding an
EWS account on 16.04, and it repeatedly failed to appear.

After killing *all* evolution-related processes and restarting, it
worked.

[Bug 1497918] Re: File couldn't be moved to trash: Invalid link across device boundaries

2016-07-22 Thread Andreas Wehler
Bug is still seen on Ubuntu 16.04.

See also: http://osdir.com/ml/general/2013-01/msg36799.html

Thunar does not follow symlinks to find the .Trash-1000.

gfvs-trash (used by thunar) does not look for .Trash-1000 on the
partition where the real to-be-deleted-data resides but on the partition
where the symlink itself is found.

Hope that will change.

[Bug 1605571] Re: apt install --no-install-recommends fcitx-bin, breaks dead keys

2016-07-22 Thread Aron Xu
This problem lives in im-config/gnome-language-selector, reassigning.

Also, fcitx developers and maintainers stand on a view that installing
without Recommends enabled means people who's doing that is willing to
solve any problem occurred during the process, while leaving the package
split as such keeps maximum flexibility to developers and power users.

[Bug 1605571] [NEW] apt install --no-install-recommends fcitx-bin, breaks dead keys

2016-07-22 Thread Alkis Georgopoulos
Public bug reported:

Test case: remove everything related to fcitx.
Then run: apt install --no-install-recommends fcitx-bin
Then login with some locale that uses dead keys, for example the Greek locale.
Then type e.g. ";"+"a". It's supposed to show "ά", but instead it shows "´α".

At that point, fcitx isn't running, yet `im-config -a` reports that it's the
selected input method.
$ env | egrep '_IM|XMOD'
CLUTTER_IM_MODULE=xim
QT_IM_MODULE=xim
XMODIFIERS=@im=fcitx
QT4_IM_MODULE=xim
GTK_IM_MODULE=xim

If fcitx-bin is installed along with all its recommended dependencies, then
fcitx is running normally and the issue described above doesn't occur anymore.
At that point, the environment variables are:
$ env | egrep '_IM|XMOD'
CLUTTER_IM_MODULE=xim
QT_IM_MODULE=fcitx
XMODIFIERS=@im=fcitx
QT4_IM_MODULE=fcitx
GTK_IM_MODULE=fcitx

At present I've only tested with the MATE desktop environment.
It also happens with the MATE live CD, as fcitx-bin is indeed preinstalled
there without its recommended dependencies.
