I have the same issue.

I wrote a bash script as a workaround (and convert videos to MP4, date
them and archive the original- we have a lot of AVIs from ~10 years

2017-05-06 Thread Jeremy Bicha
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. The issue you are reporting is an upstream one and it
would be nice if somebody having it could send the bug to the developers
of the software by following the instructions at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Upstream/GNOME. If you have done so, please
tell us the number of the upstream bug (or the link), so we can add a
bugwatch that will inform us about its status. Thanks in advance.

[Bug 1682167] Re: location services says it is in use even though it is disabled and nothing is using it

2017-05-06 Thread kg
I can confirm this still happens with gnome-shell 3.24.1-0ubuntu1.

It appears that you can stop this from happening by blocking gnome-
color-panel in /etc/geoclue/geoclue.conf:

[gnome-color-panel]
allowed=false
system=true
users=

Just to add some confusion, it appears that GDM sometimes starts using
geoclue which then makes then location icon appear in the user's desktop
once logged in. But that is presumably something that should be logged
seperately.

[Bug 1688757] [NEW] systemd-resolved would retry DNSSEC after some time.

2017-05-06 Thread allfox_wy
Public bug reported:

Greetings everyone.

I know that recently systemd-resolved switched DNSSEC to off by default.
However, there is a "feature set test" function in it. I could see these in my
log:
 62 May 6 23:27:31 lavender systemd-resolved[1127]: Grace period over,
resuming full feature set (UDP+EDNS0+DO+LARGE) for DNS server 10.2.5.7.
63 May 6 23:27:31 lavender systemd-resolved[1127]: Using degraded feature set
(UDP) for DNS server 10.2.5.7.

It looks like this "feature set test" would repeat after some time. And
during the test, it would test DNSSEC again regardless it turned off
explicitly, which is the so called "DO" test.

I could still sometimes get no DNS, and I caught these log once during
that. I can't be sure that this test is connected to my losing DNS, as I
only caught it once. I don't know how long the "grace period" is, so
can't schedule a trap to catch more.

This "DO" test can not be disabled via configuration.

There is an upstream patch to deal with it:
https://github.com/systemd/systemd/issues/5352

While I'm not sure if it does cause some problem, I'm thinking it might
be worth to cherry pick the patch.

Additional info about my system:
lsb_release -rd:
Description:Ubuntu 17.04

It's Ubuntu GNOME.

Removing geoclu and geoclue-ubuntu-geoip also remove gnome-clocks and
gnome-weather which is an unwanted side-effect in my case. Besides, this
disables the location feature completely rather than allow you to
enable/disable the feature.

[Bug 1688721] [NEW] package gconf2-common 3.2.6-3ubuntu7 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 128

2017-05-06 Thread Rafael Belmonte
Public bug reported:

times, the installation process just hangs at some percentage. I am testing
this gnome-software version due to Bug (LP: #1672424).
The same file was successfully installed with gdebi.
