[Bug 1698607] [NEW] "Mode" menu is out of place when launched from keyboard shortcut (unity-settings-daemon)
Public bug reported: As similarly reported in Bug #1615408 [1], the "Mode" menu for gnome- calculator appears out of place below the application title bar, however now it only manifests for me when the calculator is launched from the keyboard shortcut. I've seen some circumstances where the calculator is launched with a thick gnome3-style title bar with an integrated mode menu, but under normal circumstances, the calculator has a 'normal' title bar, and has the mode menu in the unity-integrated menu bar. My keyboard has a built-in "calculator" key, but this can be recreated by going to System Settings -> Keyboard -> Shortcuts -> modify the "Launch calculator" to something else (e.g. ctrl-alt-c). Press the shortcut; unity-settings-daemon spawns gnome-calculator with the improperly located Mode menu. [Bug 1698553] [NEW] Update gjs to 1.48.4
Public bug reported: Impact -- 1.48.4 is a new bugfix release in the stable 1.48 series, associated with the GNOME 3.24 stable series. 17.04 currently has 1.48.3. https://git.gnome.org/browse/gjs/log?h=gnome-3-24 https://git.gnome.org/browse/gjs/tree/NEWS?h=gnome-3-24 This update fixes a crash of GNOME Shell on Wayland. When GNOME Shell is run on Wayland, a crash will completely destroy the session (unlike on X where GNOME Shell tries to restart itself) so this is a high priority fix. Test Case - GNOME Shell is written in gjs so let's test GNOME Shell. After installing the update, reboot. Also check some of these apps: gnome-characters gnome-documents gnome-maps gnome-sound-recorder gnome-sushi gnome-weather polari All of them except for gnome-sound-recorder and polari are included in Ubuntu GNOME and Ubuntu Budgie. Regression Potential If gjs has a problem, it could leave Ubuntu GNOME users unable to log in to their computer at all since gdm uses part of gnome-shell to work. Other Info -- gjs 1.48.3 got stuck in phased-updates but the underlying issue was actually in gnome-maps which has already been fixed in 17.04 now. This gjs update should clear Phased Updates then. https://people.canonical.com/~ubuntu-archive/phased-updates.html ** Affects: gjs (Ubuntu) Importance: High Status: Fix Committed ** Affects: gjs (Ubuntu Zesty) Importance: Undecided Status: In Progress ** Tags: upgrade-software-version zesty ** Also affects: gjs (Ubuntu Zesty) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: gjs (Ubuntu Zesty) Status: New => In Progress -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gjs in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1698553 Title: Update gjs to 1.48.4 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gjs/+bug/1698553/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1689825] Re: gnome-keyring not unlocked on boot
Hans' observation that this is not impacting all of his machines is consistent with my experience of this issue. I have three Ubuntu machines and this is only impacting one of them. It is driving me nuts because the machine that is impacted is my main laptop. My server and my test machine which would be less of an issue to me as they don't get booted so often are working fine. A classic example of Murphy's Law. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-keyring in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1689825 Title: gnome-keyring not unlocked on boot To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/chromium-browser/+bug/1689825/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
