[Bug 1675633] Re: gnome-software crashed with SIGSEGV in as_format_get_kind()
The crash seems to be due to the package list being reloaded outside of GNOME Software. An inconsistency inside AppStream has a package with a NULL value for format, and the crash occurs accessing that. ** Changed in: appstream-glib (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) => Robert Ancell (robert-ancell) ** Description changed: - I used the software & updates tool to select the fastest server for me - to download from, opened Gnoem Terminal, started Aptitude with -uvV and - on the background while updating I got the gnome-software crashed error. + [Impact] + errors.ubuntu.com [1] is showing a high crash rate in GNOME Software. [Bug 1181666] Re: gnome-shell randomly blocks mouse clicks from working in app windows
my problem soon reappeared... but I managed to solve it. I use a logitech mx wireless mouse, and found some post saying that windows can mess something up with the receiver. It seems to be related to smooth scrolling, I noticed just before the problem started that my scrolling was way faster then usual. Tried making changes via gnome shell to mouse settings but it didn't do anything. Then I installed "solaar" and through solaar-cli tried to reset, or at least view, what the settings were, but to no avail. It couldn't access any settings, however it did show my devices properly (K270 and MX mouse). I managed to reset the scrolling issue by flipping the power on the mouse itself. Scrolling went back to normal and the problem is gone for now. Hopefully it stays that way. It's amazing how many things can break for almost no reason... -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1181666 Title: gnome-shell randomly blocks mouse clicks from working in app windows To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gnome-shell/+bug/1181666/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1703690] [NEW] Add support for Budgie Desktop using GNOME Screensaver
Public bug reported: Ubuntu Budgie and Budgie Desktop uses GNOME Screensaver for its lock- screen. It also uses gnome-control-center to control both the desktop background and the lock-screen background. GNOME Screensaver does not support gnome-control-center lock screen dialog - GNOME has changed to a gsettings path org.gnome.desktop.screensaver. GNOME Screensaver is expecting the path org.gnome.desktop.background. To resolve this requires patches in two packages - gnome-screensaver and gnome-desktop3. 1. GNOME Screensaver has been patched to support Budgie Desktop and gnome-control-center. Note - I've taken the opportunity to reuse the existing "Unity" patchwork which is now defunct (I believe) since Unity uses an alternative locking mechanism. The lock-screen is styled as per the old "Unity" implementation before Unity 16.04 moved to the new lock screen. 2. The consequence of making the requisite changes to GNOME Screensaver has unfortunately impacted gnome-desktop3. gnome-desktop3 has a Ubuntu specific patch to revert a GNOME upstream decision to remove a key called draw-background. GNOME Screensaver calls a public function in gnome-desktop3 - the gsettings path causes a segmentation fault since draw-background does not exist in org.gnome.desktop.screensaver. I have worked around this to check the path being called before pulling the draw-background key. All of this is explained in the dep3 headers of the two debdiff patches attached ** Affects: gnome-desktop3 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Assignee: fossfreedom (fossfreedom) Status: In Progress ** Affects: gnome-screensaver (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Assignee: fossfreedom (fossfreedom) Status: In Progress ** Tags: artful ** Also affects: gnome-screensaver (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: gnome-desktop3 (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) => fossfreedom (fossfreedom) ** Changed in: gnome-screensaver (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) => fossfreedom (fossfreedom) ** Changed in: gnome-desktop3 (Ubuntu) Status: New => In Progress ** Changed in: gnome-screensaver (Ubuntu) Status: New => In Progress -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-desktop3 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1703690 Title: Add support for Budgie Desktop using GNOME Screensaver To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-desktop3/+bug/1703690/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1703640] Re: nplan and libnss-resolve should be in same dependency
I don't think it is; you should be able to use things just as well with /etc/resolv.conf, and having systemd-networkd (or systemd-resolved) update it, depending on whether this is automatic via DHCP or for a static IP. Regardless, in general I tend to agree libnss-resolve probably should be included at the same level as nplan; this will need some more testing. You have been subscribed to a public bug: I am filing this under nplan because I don't know what better anchor to use.
