I too am affected by this bug
The device is a Dell Vostro 5470 with Intel integrated graphic card + Nvidia
GT740M using
driver version 375.66.
The bug appears when doing a clean install of Ubuntu gnome, changing the
nouveau driver to proprietary 375.66 and rebooting. Upon reboot the

session (package gnome-session) in 17.10, but when you run the gnome-
shell with Ubuntu modifications, the extensions give errors and won't
load.
Here are four examples of extensions that don't work with the

The tracker service (showing as "tracker-extract" in the GNOME System Monitor)
shows that it's using anywhere from 700MB to 1.1GB of RAM. This seems like a
lot.

Note that this is a tentative fix: there are multiple ways to access to
the default gsettings value, so it may fix for some entries but not all

of file was read into cache(or buffer). this causes that progress bar goes
