[Bug 1723634] [NEW] nautilus breadcrumbs left and right arrows serve no purpose
You have been subscribed to a public bug: There is a left arrow and a right arrow in the Nautilus breadcrumbs in the CSD. Both the left arrow and the right arrow are always show, even if there is no parent or child directory to navigate to. Clicking on these arrows has no effect. CASE 1: Left Arrow 1. Open Nautilus 2. Navigate to the root directory (press CTRL-L, type "/" and press enter). 3. Notice the left arrow is shown, it appears inactive, and nothing happens when you click on it. CASE 2: Right Arrow 1. Open Nautilus 2. Navigate to your home directory (click "Home" in the left panel). 3. Notice the right arrow is shown, it appears inactive, and nothing happens when you click on it. 4. Click on a directory, for example "Documents" 5. Nautilus shows the contents of the new directory, and appends the directory name to the breadcrumbs. 6. Click on "Home" in the breadcrumbs. 7. Notice the right arrow is shown, it appears inactive, and nothing happens when you click on it. Clicking the right arrow does not take you to the next directory in the breadcrumbs. SUGGESTED BEHAVIOR: Clicking on the left arrow should take the user to the previous directory in the breadcrumbs (the directory path). Clicking on the right arrow should take the user to the next directory in the breadcrumbs. ALTERNATIVE SOLUTION: Remove the arrows, since they do not provide any functionality and are misleading to the user. [Bug 1723644] [NEW] NetworkManager hang
Public bug reported: Recently I had issues with NetworkManager. When I try to restart or close NetworkManager, the process hangs. First it sends a SIGTERM to the NetworkManager process, and after a while it sends SIGKILL, yet nothing happens. After the attempt to restart/close NetworkManager, the OS behaves badly: - journalctl doesn't work, doesn't output anything, SIGTERMing/SIGABRTing/ SIGKILLing it causes the kill command to hang (no matter how many times I try it), it also hangs the terminal - 'sudo dmesg' hangs (killing it with SIGKILL/SIGTERM/SIGABRT hangs the kill command, can't close the terminal) - the OS won't reboot/suspend/shutdown (it does only after holding the restart button) Suspending/rebooting normally/shutdowning normally the laptop hangs the OS (because of NetworkManager). What I've tried: - reinstalling NetworkManager (using --purge) - deleting ~/.config - deleting ~/.cache - installing a version from NetworkManager from Debian (version: 1.8.4.2), reinstalling NetworkManager from Ubuntu back affects ubuntu affects ubuntu/network-manager affects ubuntu/systemd ** Affects: network-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: systemd (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Attachment added: "kernellog.txt" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1723644/+attachment/4971187/+files/kernellog.txt ** Attachment added: "journalctl.txt" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1723644/+attachment/4971188/+files/journalctl.txt ** Attachment added: "networkmanagerlog.txt" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1723644/+attachment/4971189/+files/networkmanagerlog.txt -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to systemd in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1723644 Title: NetworkManager hang To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/network-manager/+bug/1723644/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

I tried weston a little bit to know if it was a wayland problem, but weston works fine. [Bug 1720649] Re: broken gnome expirience caused by unity-compatible patch
It doesn't matter witch session I use. This bug concerns UBUNTU DEFAULT SESSION. I dont know, why you cannot understand this. I even provide info about patch, which should be disabled to fix this. Once again: 1. Start ubuntu. 2. Install gnome-tweak-tool. 3. Disable "Application Menu" in "Top Bar". 4. NOTICE, THAT IS STILL UBUNTU DEFAULT SESSION 5. Start Rhythmbox. See the menubar. See the settings gear icon. All menubar options accessible through gear icon. Menubar should go away. One thing I'm not sure about - if ubuntu comes with enabled alternative- toolbar plugin by default (if it is - its a mistake, because position slider buggy in this plugin) - you should disable it. I had one crash after applying this yesterday (and rebooting): it crashed right out to the console, not even to the login screen, and when I tried logging in again the session failed to start. But since a second reboot it's apparently been fine. This bug went away, and so too has my bug #1720149 (so far anyway, I don't seem able to reproduce it now, although saying so will doubtless trigger it next time I let the displays sleep). I can't explain that first crash, but as I also can't repeat it, I guess we ignore it for now.
