[Bug 1710370] Re: Cheese crashes on launch in Ubuntu 17.10 if no camera device is present
This may be a long shot, but I encountered another problem on 17.10 with cheese: It starts with the message "There was an error playing video from the webcam". [Bug 1174162] Re: chrome-browser makes gnome-keyring-daemon use 100% cpu
I think I have tracked this down to irccloud.com, an app offering web access to IRC channels once you are logged in. I had that site open in a tab, among others, and saw `gnome-keyring-daemon` acting up. Closed `chromium` and `gnome-keyring-daemon` stopped working. Restarted `chromium` with the same tabs—daemon started working again. I tried restarting with progressively fewer tabs open, and it was restarting with irccloud.com closed that caused the problem to cease. Conversely, opening a tab with irccloud.com again causes the daemon to work. Not sure what about that site specifically would trigger a bug like this; GMail, etc. do not. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-keyring in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1174162 Title: chrome-browser makes gnome-keyring-daemon use 100% cpu To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/chromium-browser/+bug/1174162/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 934291] Re: Deleting or stopping print jobs does not work
It's fine to have root as member of the lpadmin group. BUT… it's not fine to have cups-pk-helper run as root and allow unauthorized users (in CUPS' eyes) cancel other user's jobs. This should be fixed in cups-pk-helper through making it interact with CUPS using the requesting user's user. This would ensure that CUPS's authorizations are respected. [Bug 1723857] Re: onscreen keyboard appears whenever i touch touchscreen
update to my entry #47: installed ubuntu 18.04 daily build from Dec 11, 2017 on the Lenovo IdeaPad/Yoga 2 13 with touch screen. For one day everything went fine except one single appearance of the on screen keyboard (osk). On the second day the osk got crazy, appearing that frequently that working with the mouse or touch screen was practically impossible. But the cursor didn't jump (to lower left corner) as it did with 17.04 and 17.10. The osk sometimes flickered really fast giving the impression of being turned on/off at least 10x/second - without me touching anything on the laptop! Then I applied the fix provided by https://askubuntu.com/users/750621/keringar (Thank you!!) and now I can use the laptop again.
