[Bug 1746773] Re: Search for Skype in GNOME Software doesn't list Skype as the first match
This is due to a change in GNOME 3.22 which started ordering search results by "match value" (essentially a value indicating how well the result matches the search terms). This is generated by a bitfield of metadata items that matched the search terms. Snap doesn't provide this, so the snap results were getting ordered by the fallback sorting field - the app id. I've proposed getting rid of the default sorting field, thus keeping the snaps in the order they were returned from snapd: https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-software/merge_requests/16 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-software in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1746773 Title: Search for Skype in GNOME Software doesn't list Skype as the first match To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-software/+bug/1746773/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1707898] Re: systemd translations are not synced with upstream
All this has now been fixed upstream. You can disregard the previous patches I've polluted this bug report with. The attached patch is a concatenation of the applicable upstream commits. It includes: * Translations are no longer merged into the .policy files * 'gettext-domain="systemd"' added to the .policy files * The ninja() call in debian/rules (so far only in Debian git) now extracts strings also from the .policy files. I suppose that this patch should better be committed to Debian. (And no need any longer from a systemd POV to consider a change of the policykit-1 packaging.) ** Patch added: "upstream-translation-fixes.patch" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/policykit-1/+bug/1707898/+attachment/5058025/+files/upstream-translation-fixes.patch ** No longer affects: policykit-1 (Ubuntu) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to systemd in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1707898 Title: systemd translations are not synced with upstream To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/systemd/+bug/1707898/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1750197] Re: App Drawer Animation Causes Heavy CPU Spikes in Wayland & XOrg
** Description changed: - Ubuntu Release: 17.10 + Ubuntu Release: 17.10 and 18.04 gnome-shell version: 3.26.2 System Theme: CommuniTheme Beta Upon navigating through various areas of the system, GUI animations are very stuttery. This heavily affects the CPU usage of my device. For instance, opening the shell app drawer displays a very janky animation, and my CPU will spike to nearly 85% for each open/close. This happens regardless of using XOrg or Wayland; however Wayland appears to have an overall lower impact on resource usage. The CPU in this laptop isn't the greatest (being a 2014 Celeron), but this is noticeably more sluggish compared to previous releases like 16.04 and 16.10. This same issue is still existent, but somewhat less noticeable on my other i5-6400 (GTX 1050) machine. Also, emulating this release in a VM with 2 CPUS and 4096MB of RAM renders it unresponsive for 3-5 seconds after opening/closing the app drawer. Please do not hesitate to follow up with requests for more info, as I will be happy to help. [Bug 1750288] [NEW] Support snap channels
Public bug reported: [Impact] [Test Case] 1. Open GNOME Software 2. Select the VLC snap Observed result: No channel information is shown. Expected result: The snap is shown with four (at the time of writing) channels available - stable/candidate/beta/edge. You are able to choose a channel at the time of install and this installs the appropriate version (can be confirmed with 'snap info vlc' on the command line). Once installed the channel can be changed and the snap updated (requires clicking install again).
