[Bug 1751545] [NEW] In Ubuntu artful, ther is no nopasswdlogin group anymore

2018-02-24 Thread Mitar
Public bug reported:

In Ubuntu artful, there is no nopasswdlogin group anymore. It seems also
that the option to configure user to not have a password is missing.
Moreover, in the login screen, "login" button is disabled if the
password input box is empty, so even if I force set an empty password,
it cannot be used.

[Bug 1730174] Re: [artful] mouse clicks are completely ignored both in Gnome's gdm and once logged in to the desktop

2018-02-24 Thread PTra
Affects me as well. Mouse(Logitech G402) movement is fine but I can't
click on anything in gdm3 login screen and gnome-shell itself. Only
changing to Xorg instead of wayland fixes it.

As suggested above if it is related to Nvidia driver I don't think so
because I am using AMD Radeon R7 370 (with xserver-amdgpu, so no "old"
radeonsi; but that shouldn't really matter and it works with Xorg)

Not sure what additional info to provide.

[Bug 1750146] Re: Xbox (One) Wireless Controller won't connect

2018-02-24 Thread Jeb E.
** Description changed:

- Xbox One Wireless Controllers refuse to connect via bluetooth with Ubuntu
17.10 in the gnome-control-center.
+ Xbox One Wireless Controllers (Model 1708) refuse to connect via bluetooth
with Ubuntu 17.10 in the gnome-control-center.
Placing the controller into pairing mode makes it visible on the Bluetooth
Devices list and the device pairs, but does not make the full connection needed
to pull the controller out of pairing mode.

This renders my controller unusable with my Ubuntu PC unless I want to
resort to using the wire (microUSB).

[Bug 1751070] Re: mutter 3.28 transition

2018-02-24 Thread Jeremy Bicha
** Description changed:

  mutter/gnome-shell transition bug

mutter's soname is being bumped (this will probably happen for every
major new GNOME Shell series) so we'll need to update gnome-shell also
  and rebuild budgie-desktop.

  https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/mutter/blob/master/NEWS
  https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-shell/blob/master/NEWS
+
+ Known Issues
+
+ - The 70_allow_sound_above_100.patch needs to be rebased (probably by
didrocks)
+ - The "keycaps" (labels for Shift, Enter, etc.) in the new screen keyboard
show in the GNOME session but not the Ubuntu session
+ - ubuntu-session-mods/ubuntu.css probably needs to be rebased (and that will
probably fix the keycaps issue)
+
+ Other Transitions
+ -
+ This will unlock the gnome-settings-daemon transition. gnome-settings-daemon
3.27 drops the a11ykeyboard plugin which mutter now provides. That transition
is pretty easy. We just need to patch all these packages to not have
A11yKeyboard in their RequiredComponents line:
+
+
https://codesearch.debian.net/search?q=org.gnome.SettingsDaemon.A11yKeyboard=1
+
+ budgie-desktop is part of the ongoing gnome-desktop3 transition. gnome-
+ shell will be part of the evolution-data-server transition.

[Bug 1751070] Re: mutter 3.28 transition

2018-02-24 Thread fossfreedom
@jbicha,

I've thrown a PR against upstream to support this transition for
budgie-desktop

I've created a PPA with this PR + the new GSD as well. This PPA was
built against the gnome3-team/gnome3-staging PPA.

Both PPAs were added to the latest daily UB and dist-upgraded.

Tests done
1. login successfully
2. tiling windows
3. switching workspaces
4. lock screen and unlock

Haven't noticed any regressions with the brief tests above.

[Bug 1749779] Re: System freeze when going back and forth fullscreen mode with Firefox

2018-02-24 Thread Hadrien
I applied the procedure described there:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-
shell/+bug/1751101/comments/7

I start Ubuntu 17.10
I start Firefox 58.0.2
I press F11 for more than 2 seconds
I wait for 35 minutes
I press on AltGr+PrintScreen+S just to be sure data is written on disk
I wait for several seconds
I reboot with AltGr+PrintScreen+B

There is nothing in /var/crash/

I feel a bit frustrated after all that time spent trying to obtain the
data you need.

Daniel, you told it wasn't a good idea to ask you to reproduce the
problem, but I still think this would be a good solution to get valuable
data on your side. I understand this may expose a different bug, but
with some chance, that other bug will be related to this one. At worst
you could open another ticket with the data you collected and link the
two tickets.

Maybe you don't have time, or won't be able to reproduce the problem, so
I can also wait for Ubuntu 18.04 and try to reproduce it again. You told
me there are many gnome-shell crashes at the moment, so maybe one of the
fix that will ship with 18.04 will help with this bug.
