[Bug 1698083] Re: Middle-click titlebar actions (like maximizing vertically) don't work in Wayland sessions
I'm using Ubuntu 17.10 and this bug is still present with Xorg AND Wayland. Apps with a "normal" GTK titlebar (the narrow one), like Firefox, are working according to the settings in Gnome Tweak. So a double- or middle-click on the titlebar maximizes the window f.i. vertically. But when an app has a "Gnome" titlebar (the broad one), f.i. Gedit, then the window is always maximized fully, not only vertically or horizontally. You can download a screencast of this bug here: https://mega.nz/#!j5BSjaSL!o7E3Kuf061sJQ_tUukpe-3Tf4JTi7NExB3uI-z_ijX4 It shows the behavior of different apps, GTK and QT, with different titlebars: Deluge (GTK): works Qpdfview (QT): works LibreOffice (GTK): works Gnome Tweak: fails Gedit: fails Can somebody confirm this? [Bug 1694454] Re: Can't open gnome terminal
dino99: I tried what I said, and GNOME apps launch when logging out fully from each session. So the issue only occurs when two DEs have been logged in (even if the XFCE session is logged out), I assume with the same username. So perhaps GNOME apps think they're launching in XFCE, but since XFCE is closed, they don't launch anywhere. It would appear the workaround for me would be to remote login with a different username. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-terminal in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1694454 Title: Can't open gnome terminal To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-terminal/+bug/1694454/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 1694454] Re: Can't open gnome terminal
dino99: I ran deborphan and bleachbit. Nothing major there. The most recent change to this system was the setup of XFCE and XRDP for remote login. If I restart the machine, I can launch the GNOME apps like normal. To replicate the issue, I first have to remote login to XFCE (do something, then log out). Then I physically go to the PC and try to use a GNOME app in the GNOME DE. The XFCE and GNOME sessions use the same username. So it appears the GNOME apps may be getting confused as to which DE to use. But why just the GNOME apps and not everything else? In order to set up the remote desktop, I modified the .xsession file to be this: #!/bin/bash xfce4-session This allows me to log in as the same user on the local and remote sessions. Perhaps this is a bad practice, but it allows me to use my tower PC (in the basement) on my laptop (upstairs). Perhaps this would all work better if I set up a separate user (e.g., in the original username group to access the same files) for remote access instead of using the same username. Still, I imagine if I log out of GNOME, log in remotely with XFCE, log out of XFCE, then log in to GNOME, the issue may still persist. I will try that now.

[Bug 1752431] Re: Gnome Shell Wayland session crashes on startup - artful
Sorry about that. You can correct your bug title by changing your bug title to "eglnative" instead of "glnative". But I suggest the best and only way forward here is for us to get a crash file reported via the 'ubuntu-bug' command. Please check that you have applied the workaround to bug 994921 carefully, reboot, and check /var/crash for files again. If any are found then please run: ubuntu-bug /var/crash/YOURFILE.crash and tell us here the newly-created bug ID. ** Changed in: gnome-shell (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1752431 Title: Gnome Shell Wayland session crashes on startup - artful To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1752431/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
