[Bug 1788739] Re: When starting Evolution /usr/lib/gdm3/gdm-x-session[2309]: (II) modeset information is printed to syslog
Those log messages are normal and not a bug. Although it's slightly unusual they would appear late like that. And no the logs are not separate any more, so that part is expected... 1. Please reproduce the problem again and then save the full system log by running: journalctl -b > journal.txt and attach the log here. 2. Do the messages occur for any other app? 3. Does the problem only occur in Wayland sessions? To check which type you are using please run 'xrandr' and send us the output. ** Changed in: gdm3 (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete ** Tags added: bionic -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gdm3 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1788739 Title: When starting Evolution /usr/lib/gdm3/gdm-x-session[2309]: (II) modeset information is printed to syslog To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gdm3/+bug/1788739/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1789644] Re: Gnome Shell 3.29.90 crash in Wayland session on Evolution launch if external display attached
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It sounds like some part of the system has crashed. To help us find the cause of the crash please follow these steps: 1. Look in /var/crash for crash files and if found run: ubuntu-bug YOURFILE.crash Then tell us the ID of the newly-created bug. 2. If step 1 failed then look at https://errors.ubuntu.com/user/ID where ID is the content of file /var/lib/whoopsie/whoopsie-id on the machine. Do you find any links to recent problems on that page? If so then please send the links to us. 3. If step 2 also failed then apply the workaround from bug 994921, reboot, reproduce the crash, and retry step 1. Please take care to avoid attaching .crash files to bugs as we are unable to process them as file attachments. It would also be a security risk for yourself. ** Changed in: gnome-shell (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1789644 Title: Gnome Shell 3.29.90 crash in Wayland session on Evolution launch if external display attached To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1789644/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1789749] [NEW] Virtual desktops are shown in the middle of screen in GNOME Shell
Public bug reported: Hi, since I use Ubuntu 18.04 with GNOME Shell I see that the virtual desktops panel is shown in the middle of screen when I drag a file to the Activities corner. I didn't see this behavior in 17.10, so it's really strange for me. I really like gnome-session, but I drag a lot of files through Activities, so to not see the bug I'm forced to use the Ubuntu session (now communitheme). Yes, it's really annoying. I share a file to show how is the bug. I'm using: -Ubuntu 18.04 64-bit. -GNOME 3.28.2 (provided by official repos). -Linux 4.15.0-33-generic (but I saw the bug in all previous kernels released Ubuntu 18.04). I saw the bug in two different GPUs: -[AMD/ATI] RV630/M76 [Mobility Radeon HD 2600] with Mesa and free Radeon driver provided by official repos. -MSI NVIDIA GTX 1050 with official proprietary driver. I think is a general bug. ** Affects: gnome-shell (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Attachment added: "Virtual desktops panel in the middle of screen using GNOME Shell" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1789749/+attachment/5182356/+files/Captura%20de%20pantalla%20de%202018-08-29%2023-36-22.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1789749 Title: Virtual desktops are shown in the middle of screen in GNOME Shell To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1789749/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

This happen even when I do this inside virt-viewer connection to virtual machine. A also find that switch keyboard layout with default Alt+Shift cause Opera display it's menu (seems like this is reaction to Alt like it was pressed as separate buttong) which interrupt text typing. [Bug 1789577] [NEW] An Unresponsive Window Freezes the Whole Desktop
You have been subscribed to a public bug: When debugging UI Applications, this application becomes naturally unresponsive when reaching an execution breakpoint. As a consequence, I see the "Force Quit or Wait" dialog, which freezes the whole desktop. I have no idea why that is, but it is super annoying. And this is of course not only the case when debugging, but happens as well for a "normal" application freeze. Why does a frozen application should immediately require my attention, no matter what else I am doing? Why does this require my whole desktop to freeze and wait for my input? Sometimes I just notice a desktop freeze and dont know whats going on until I find this stupid "Quit or Wait" dialog. Super annoying. Please make this window not freeze everything else, nothing is so important that the whole desktop should freeze to force input.
