[Bug 1788220] Re: [snap] Ubuntu 18.04 LTS includes gnome-calculator as a snap

2018-09-19 Thread Ken VanDine
This was caused by a fontconfig cache miss, which was caused by a
difference in the fontconfig cache version between what's bundled in the
snap vs the host cache on 18.04. This has been fixed with
https://github.com/ubuntu/snapcraft-desktop-helpers/pull/144

Hello,

I have pulled the updates from the -proposed (including ubuntu-drivers-

Are people with pre-Pascal seeing improvements? (Nouveau is in a better

[Bug 1793322] [NEW] “Domain” field missing when editing WPA2 Enterprise connection

2018-09-19 Thread Simon May
Public bug reported:

Ubuntu release: 18.04.1 LTS
Package version: gnome-control-center 1:3.28.2-0ubuntu0.18.04.2

When *adding* a WPA2 Enterprise connection, the dialog that appears is
very similar to the “Security” tab when *editing* the connection (see
the attached screenshot). However, one field from the “create
connection” dialog is conspicuously missing from the “edit connection”
dialog: the “Domain:” field! (Marked in red in the screenshot.) In other
words, it is not possible to change the domain for a WPA2 Enterprise
connection after creating it. The field should be present in both
dialogs.

[Bug 1793304] [NEW] package libglib2.0-dev 2.48.2-0ubuntu4 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess new pre-removal script returned error exit status 1

2018-09-19 Thread Geokimbo
Public bug reported:

This is likely an issue to do with having both python2.7 and 3.5 on the
machine. The work around is the same as that I gave for samba in Bug
1651660.

TL:DR Copy weakref.py from the 3.5 directory to the 2.7 directory and
edit syntax until offender installs

Patched weakref.py uploaded to the above mentioned bug.

The root of the problem is likely either the QGIS 3.2 repo install or
the Paraview 5.5 binary copy.

[Bug 1793298] [NEW] snapd-glib changes needed for pulseaudio snap policy module xenial backport

2018-09-19 Thread James Henstridge
Public bug reported:

The xenial backport of the fix for 1781428 malfunctioned due to the use
of snapd-glib behaviour introduced after the version included in xenial:
namely auto-connection (and reconnection) to the snapd socket that was
introduced in snapd-glib 1.24.

With the policy module loaded, Pulse Audio will contact snapd to check
the interfaces plugged by a client in order to decide whether to provide
access to the microphone. As the Pulse Audio daemon is long lived, it
is not uncommon for the socket connection to be disconnected (either due
to a timeout, or because snapd is upgraded while the user is logged in).
So simply adding a snapd_client_connect() call at module initialisation
time is not sufficient.

The specific snapd-glib calls that could be affected are:

 * snapd_client_list_one_async
 * snapd_client_get_interfaces_async

** Affects: snapd-glib (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

2018-09-19 Thread Brian Murray
Hello errors.ubuntu.com, or anyone else affected,

Accepted appstream into bionic-proposed. The package will build now and
be available at
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/appstream/0.12.0-3ubuntu1 in a few
hours, and then in the -proposed repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation on how
to enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this
update out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug,
mentioning the version of the package you tested and change the tag from
verification-needed-bionic to verification-done-bionic. If it does not
fix the bug for you, please add a comment stating that, and change the
tag to verification-failed-bionic. In either case, without details of
your testing we will not be able to proceed.

Further information regarding the verification process can be found at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification . Thank you in
advance for helping!

N.B. The updated package will be released to -updates after the bug(s)
fixed by this package have been verified and the package has been in
-proposed for a minimum of 7 days.

** Changed in: appstream (Ubuntu Bionic)
