The OSD for the backlit keyboard is displayed but no progress bar and no actual effect to the backlight. Almost as if the shell only understands laptops with a single key for controlling the keyboard backlight... Bug verified in cosmic on: * Asus UX331UAL * Apple Macbook Pro 12,1 * Apple Macbook Air All of them have these keys and they all fail in the same way. However it is not a kernel bug. The kernel interface (/sys/class/leds/*::kbd_backlight/*) works when I write to it directly. This seems to be a problem with Gnome Shell only. It is my experience that Ubuntu Search also crashes when searching from the home directory. - Most likely to occur with short searches (three to four letters) - More likely to happen early in the session than after a few restarts of the session. Core functionality of a modern file browser that stripped type-ahead search away to make place for recursive search. More dan "Medium" importance according to me. I tested this on a Dell XPS 15 9570. When using the kernel is 4.18.12-041812-generic, boot options: acpi_rev_override=5 acpi_osi=Linux scsi_mod.use_blk_mq=1 and selecting nvidia I don't get any graphical login.I have to switch to intel via the recovery root console. When selecting intel, power consumption is between 8 and 9 W which means nvidia GPU is off.
