Note also that you are using an Nvidia P1000 GPU (very new) with the
nouveau driver. To the best of my knowledge that doesn't work at all for
other people (bug 1822026).

You might get a better result using the proprietary Nvidia driver:

  sudo apt install nvidia-driver-418

[Bug 1830255] [NEW] Gnome shell freezes for about 1 minute after screen blanks. high disk usage

2019-05-23 Thread Frank van Wensveen
Public bug reported:

After the screen is blanked following a few minutes of inactivity, the
UI freezes for about a minute as soon as the password has been entered.
During this time there is a lot of harddisk I/O (close to 100%) until
eventually the UI eventually unlocks and the regular desktop environment
(showing windows, applications, desktop icons and what not) reappears.
This happens irregularly but frequently. System is a Dell Inspiron 3576
laptop running Ubuntu 18.04.2 LTS and gnome-shell

[Bug 1830223] [NEW] gnome control center segmentation fault when clicking details tab

2019-05-23 Thread Ioannis Vardas
Public bug reported:

Description:Ubuntu 18.04.2 LTS
Release:18.04
gnome-control-center:
  Installed: 1:3.28.2-0ubuntu0.18.04.4
  Candidate: 1:3.28.2-0ubuntu0.18.04.4

 1:3.28.1-0ubuntu1 500
500 http://gr.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu bionic/main amd64 Packages

When opening the gnome-control-center it may close after some seconds.
Additionally, if I open "Details" tab it closes and returns a segmentation
fault. I know this issue is not new but I have
experienced it now.

Same here.
Actually, it was a killer feature for decades as for me and many my colleagues.

Please, return it back.

Thanks.

[Bug 1827284] Re: [regression] No window spread animation in gnome-shell 3.28.3+git20190124

2019-05-23 Thread Lorenzo P. Gamayo
I'm extremely sorry. While trying to see what the different statuses
mean, I accidentally changed the bug status to "fix released" and
launchpad doesn't let me undo my mistake. I hope this doesn't cause any
trouble.

[Bug 1753070] Re: Cannot restore default alert sound (Ubuntu bell)

2019-05-23 Thread Paride Legovini
This is still an issue in Disco, with a difference: there is no
"default" button anymore in the Sound settings, only
Bark|Drip|Glass|Sonar, none of which is the original Ubuntu bell from
the Yaru theme.

Setting it to "Bark" is a good way to remember this has to be fixed :)

Yes those are two separate issues. Let's make this bug about the missing

The problem with the terminal window title bar looks related to bug

Re: [Bug 1830163] Re: icons disappered, system unusable

2019-05-23 Thread Daniel Martinek
Instead of most icons in app menu there are three dots. Few are intact.
Side panel has nearly circles instead of icons with circular corners. Size
is about 1/5 of normal size. Will try to diagnose further when it will
happen again.

[Bug 1830163] [NEW] icons disappered, system unusable

2019-05-23 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

the launcher bar goes into miniscule size most icons are gone (all icons
like close button etc. look like "broken image" icon, all icons near the
menu, where you can log out including the bar) login does not work and
commands do not run or for example sudo throws error (I had to hard
restart pc), but I do not remember the message. Cannot find anything,
that would trigger it (I had some system programs failing before this
happened). I cannot provide screenshots, becouse I do not know how to
take one on my Zbook while not using external keyboard.

Sorry if I mixed two issues together.

Re: [Bug 1821435] [NEW] nautilus crashed with SIGABRT in g_assertion_message()

2019-05-23 Thread Per-Inge
I set the developer option and updated. Got the nautilus update among other
updates.
Copied a file from the server to Documents and starred the file. Worked OK
and got no crash.
Copied another file from the server to Documents and starred it. Got no
crash, but the file didn't show up in Starred.
Restarted Nautilus, but this didn't help.
Logged out and logged in again. Open Documents and starred the file again.
This time the file showed up in Starred.

Did the same in Eoan with the same result.
