[Bug 1835956] Re: Deleting "Input Sources" not in use, affects the ones in use.

2019-07-09 Thread josedorrego
Sorry, I sent my previous comment by mistake. Let me answer your
questions:

-Thank you for your bug report, can you trigger the issue again using
the same steps?

No problem!
Yes, I did it several times until I realized what the problem was. I even
trying rebooting to check if that would solve something. (sometimes "Win key" +
"Spacebar" will change the name of the layout in use, but would not change the
keyboard behaviour but I think that's a different bug).

-Thank you for your bug report, can you trigger the issue again using the same
steps?

The problem is I'm not sure which is the keyboard layout that should go with my
keyboard. This is my keyboard layout:
https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Distribuci%C3%B3n_del_teclado#/media/Archivo:KB_Spanish.svg

If you could let me know which is the name of the layout that should
work, I can try that one by itself and then adding some more.

Thanks for your time!

[Bug 1835969] [NEW] Categories expander is constantly broken

2019-07-09 Thread AsciiWolf
Public bug reported:

The categories expander button is constantly broken
(https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-software/issues/607) and so it was
removed in upstream. However, there was a workaround suggested
(https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-software/issues/607#note_545721)
to fix the expander. It's untested, but it could work. Consider fixing
the expander button using this workaround.

, however, as I have
my doubts if it is really an upstream bug, as it didn't occur on Ubuntu
16.04, just on Ubuntu 18.04, and some users reported that in Debian it

[Bug 1835956] [NEW] Deleting "Input Sources" not in use, affects the ones in use.

2019-07-09 Thread josedorrego
Public bug reported:

I have a notebook, with an english keyboard layout, so "English (Us,
intl, with dead keys) was my only option in "Region & Language / Input
Sources".

Now I want to use an external keyboard, which has a spanish
distribution, so I tried adding "Spanish" (Let's call it "es1") to my
"Input Sources" list. This is not quite my distribution, so I added a
few more to try: "Spanish (with Sun Dead keys)" (es2), "Spanish (Latin
American, with Sun dead keys)" (es3) and "Spanish (Win keys)" (es4).

So after trying all this 4 options in spanish layouts, I decided that I
want to use the (es4) option, because it fits my keyboard exactly, and I
won't be needing any of the others spanish options. Just want to keep
one for english and one for spanish.

Now comes the strange behaviour: while "es4" is still my layout option
in use, I go to "Input Sources" configuration and delete the input
sources I won't be using (es1, es2 and es3). After deleting, I only have
two options, one for english and one for spanish. The available keyboard
layout for spanish is the same one I chose before, "Spanish (Win keys),
but after deleting the other ones, this layout doesn't fit my keyboard
any more. Some keys don't give me the same characters as they did when I
was trying all the options and had the others layouts installed, but not
in use.

I've also noticed that installing a keyboard layout behaves different
depending on whether there are other layouts installed or not. For
example, if I install and use "Spanish" layout, when there is only
"English" I don't get the same results if I install and use it when
there are other "Spanish input sources" already installed.

Cheers

[Bug 1818902] Re: The io.elementary.camera package installs on Ubuntu Disk 19.04 normally, but does not open the video image.

2019-07-09 Thread Chris Mayo
I think a change in Ubuntu broke ClutterGstCamera.

I don't use io.elementary.camera but have my own program that also uses
ClutterGstCamera. Up until about a month ago it was working fine on
18.04. Now it gives the same error:

Clutter-Gst-CRITICAL **: Unable to setup device without element factory,

It doesn't work on 19.04 either. Still works on Gentoo Linux.

[Bug 1818902] [NEW] The io.elementary.camera package installs on Ubuntu Disk 19.04 normally, but does not open the video image.

2019-07-09 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

Hello guys

I installed the io.elementary.camera package from Elementary OS on
Ubuntu Disk 19.04 normally, but message appears that it does not
recognize the webcam. Note I have the Juno Elementary OS installed on
the same machine and the Webcam works normally.

I installed through the repository:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa: elementary-os / daily
sudo apt update
sudo apt install io.elementary.camera

In the description, there is the option pantheon-camera, but this one
says to be with broken package and does not install. Could it be this
that does not let the webcam work? Look!

sudo apt install pantheon-camera
[sudo] password for edson:

Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that
you asked for an impossible situation or, if you are using the
unstable distribution, that some required packages have not been created yet or
have been removed from Incoming.
The following information may help resolve the situation:

The following packages have mismatched dependencies:
pantheon-camera: Depends: io.elementary.camera but will not install
E: Impossible to fix problems, you kept (hold) broken packages.

Note When I enter synaptcis there is no broken package.

If you uninstall io.elementary.camera and try to install the pantheon-
camera the same broken package information appears.

The installation of io.elementary.camera is performed successfully on
Ubuntu 19.04 Disk, but does not appear the image of the video and nor
does it recognize the webcam, video attachments.

When you try to open the camera through the terminal the following error
message appears:

I ask you to forward the responsible team so that the correction can be
carried out.

[Bug 1835902] [NEW] System freeze after "Refactor->Rename" operation in PHPStorm

2019-07-09 Thread KrosseKrabbe
Public bug reported:

Recently upgraded from Ubuntu 18.10 to 19.04. The bug was not present
before the upgrade.

Complete system freezes reproducible when running the PHPStorm (v.
2019.1) file operation named "Refactor"->"Rename" on a file and exactly
when clicking the OK button to confirm the listed refactorings. It's not
just the gnome shell freezing immediately, but the whole system. I can't
switch to a text shell anymore, only option is a hardware power off.

[Bug 1835720] Re: Nautilus crash while searching NTFS partition over Samba

2019-07-09 Thread Sebastien Bacher
The script probably errors out because you copied that part without
adapting it '$(pidof yelp)', 'yelp' should be changed by nautilus in
your case

It might be a bit easier to do it like that other
$ sudo apt install nautilus-dbgsym libgtk-3-0-dbgsym libglib2.0-0-dbgym
$ gdb -p `pidof nautilus`
(gdb) c

use nautilus and get the crash

(gdb) t a a bt

and copy the backtrace to the bug

[Bug 1835720] Re: Nautilus crash while searching NTFS partition over Samba

2019-07-09 Thread Davide Sandonà
Hello Sebastien,

> Also does it happen every time you follow those steps?

Yes, every time!

I tried to do a backtrace, but it didn't work. Here are the steps I've
followed.

1. Created an /etc/apt/sources.list.d/ddebs with the commands:
echo "deb http://ddebs.ubuntu.com $(lsb_release -cs) main restricted universe
multiverse" | sudo tee -a /etc/apt/sources.list.d/ddebs.list
echo -e "deb http://ddebs.ubuntu.com $(lsb_release -cs)-updates main restricted
universe multiverse\ndeb http://ddebs.ubuntu.com $(lsb_release -cs)-proposed
main restricted universe multiverse" | sudo tee -a
/etc/apt/sources.list.d/ddebs.list

2. sudo apt-get update

3. Downloaded the script list-symbols-packages-v2.1.sh and run the command:
sudo bash ./list-symbols-packages-v2.1.sh -t -p $(pidof yelp) 2>/dev/null |
xargs -d $'\n' sudo apt-get install

It ended its execution with these lines:
E: Unable to locate package using sudo.
E: Couldn't find any package by glob 'using sudo.'
E: Couldn't find any package by regex 'using sudo.'

4. apport-retrace --sandbox=sandboxdir /var/crash/_usr_bin_nautilus.1000.crash
ERROR: report file does not contain one of the required fields: Package

Is there anything else I can do?

[Bug 1825544] Re: Switch User menu item gone after upgrade to Ubuntu 19.04

2019-07-09 Thread Grzegorz Korba
I got this problem after upgrading Ubuntu 18.04 to 19.04. My system was
initially installed as KUbuntu, later I've installed Cinnamon so it's a
mix of many packages. However, I couldn't change user while logging so I
needed to use ctrl+alt+F* and start new session as specified user, then
start X server. `startx cinnamon` somehow worked, but there were some
issues while running, so I've been googling a bit and this is what I've
done:

- added "Session=cinnamon" to ~/.dmrc
- added `exec cinnamon-session` to ~/xinitrc
- enabled automatic and timed login like mentioned in
https://askubuntu.com/a/1140036
- run `sudo service gdm3 restart` as mentioned in
https://askubuntu.com/q/1136457
- disabled automatic and timed login
- reboot

After that I have logon screen with ability to choose user and I can
properly log in.

When I try to switch users and login again, I got "could not acquire
name on session bus" error, but I can switch to session where I'm still
logged in. Hope this will help anybody, but I'm looking forward for
proper fix and instructions less random than mine ;-)

Before sending my fix upstream, can you test latest linux-firmware?
