[Bug 1845046] Re: Bluetooth headphones/speaker default to low quality headset mode and fails to switch to A2DP when selected

2019-12-04 Thread Daniel van Vugt
Regardless of whether bluez or pulseaudio are at fault, this feels like
a recent regression since it's now affecting my Bluetooth speaker
hardware which has been unchanged for several years. And it looks like
18.04 and later received updates to both packages this year.

I guess the most useful thing to do would be to try a fresh 18.04
installation with the oldest packages, verify the bug does not exist and
then figure out which update introduced the bug.

[Bug 1844222] Re: Wayland session overlaid by window when fullscreen SDL apps exits

Let's wait till the fixes make it into Ubuntu 20.04 first. It looks like
only one of those fixes has landed in mutter 3.34.2. The other is on
master only (mutter 3.35.2)

[Bug 1855198] Re: gnome-shell crashed with SIGSEGV in meta_wayland_data_source_cancel() from meta_selection_source_wayland_deactivated() from _g_closure_invoke_va() from g_signal_emit_valist() from g_

2019-12-04 Thread Daniel van Vugt
We might end up needing to separate this from bug 1855225 eventually
since technically the top of your stack is NULL and not
meta_wayland_data_source_cancel. But that might just be stack corruption
and the same function. Until proven otherwise we can treat them as the
same bug.

Hmm, maybe there are a couple of similar but different crashes here.
Upstream also mentions https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/mutter/issues/591
and https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/mutter/issues/842 which are fixed in
mutter!943 (in v3.35.2) and mutter!848 (in v3.34.2).

It's unclear if this is the one that is fixed in 3.34.2 already but we
will find out soon enough.

Sorry, I'm not very familiar with apport or what the ubuntu error

I've been able to get an actual stack trace using apport-retrace here.
Is that useful if I resubmit with that?

[Bug 1855198] Re: Gnome shell crash, maybe related to wireless mouse battery running out

2019-12-04 Thread Daniel van Vugt
Thanks for the bug report. Unfortunately that oops ID says:

"This problem failed to retrace because there was no crash signature
after retracing."

So we are unable to diagnose it.

Next, we recommend reproducing the crash and reporting a new bug. We
might have more luck next time.

** Description changed:

This crash happened as I was changing the batteries for my wireless
mouse. Needing to change the batteries in the middle of a session is
routine and has not lead to this failure previously.

[Bug 1855165] [NEW] gvfsd-dav crashed with SIGSEGV

2019-12-04 Thread Praveen B
Public bug reported:

Setup
Lubuntu 19.10

Steps to Reproduce
* Using the file manager, pcmanfm-qt, perform a secure webdav mount using 'Go'
-> 'Connect to server' option
* After mounting the remote dav folder, attempt to perform a copy of a large
file (> 500M) from local machine to remote folder

Expected behavior
File copy should succeed

Observed behavior
file manager crashes and the mount is no longer present

Additional Information
When I attempted to gather more information by attaching gdb to the gfvsd-dav
process, I was unable to reproduce the problem. Without gdb, problem readily
reproduces at my end.

Right, so it means that you declared your user dir as a template source,
which means it's building a list including every single of your files to
build the template which takes some time, that's not a bug but an user

[Bug 1842167] Re: Default list of stations entry for "WSUM 91.7 FM (University of Wisconsin) has an outdated URL

2019-12-04 Thread Dabian
** Description changed:

+ Update: A patch has been posted - who can apply it?
+
The stock URL does no longer have an DNS-record.

  (Stock URL is "http://vu.wsum.wisc.edu/wsumlive.m3u;).

The new URL appears to be:

  http://stream.studio.wsum.wisc.edu/wsum128

A workaround, is to rightclick the station, choose "properties", which
will popup a window with information about the station. Click the
"details" tab in the popup window, and replace the URL with the one
above, and close the the popup window.

I think at least one of the other URL's might need an update, but I
  haven't looked into that yet.

  Additional information per request:

  (1)
  $ lsb_release -rd
  Description: Ubuntu 19.04
  Release: 19.04

  (2)
  $ rhythmbox --version

[Bug 1842167] Re: Default list of stations entry for "WSUM 91.7 FM (University of Wisconsin) has an outdated URL

2019-12-04 Thread Dabian
Upstream posted a patch, which I have included here.

As far as I can tell, this should fix the issue with this particular
station. I don't know why it hasn't been applied upstream, but I see no
reason why we can't apply it while we wait for upstream.

Do you have any statistics of how many sys-admins deny that? Or *any

It's not. As you can see from the Ubuntu bug:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/empathy/+bug/304889

There's *plenty* of people that want this behavior. Empathy should
provide an option to configure the proxy *per account*, just like Pidgin
does

[Bug 265143] Re: Seeking using the mouse wheel or right cursor causes song to restart sometimes

2019-12-04 Thread Paul White
We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to review all
reported bugs in a timely manner.

The upstream report has moved to:
https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/rhythmbox/issues/660
but has seen no activity

If this is still an issue using a maintained version of Ubuntu please
let us know otherwise this report can be left to expire in approximately
60 days time.

The upstream bug report (https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-

confusing people with a spurious "Fix Released" I will just remove the
task.

[Bug 1855065] Re: Thumbnail graphics of open file dialogue are impossibly tiny

2019-12-04 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we cannot work on this bug because your
description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful
to read "How to report bugs effectively"
http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful
if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem.

We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at
http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures.

At a minimum, we need:
1. The specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the
problem.
2. The behavior you expected.
3. The behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible).
Thanks!
