[Bug 1875991] [NEW] Screen unlocks without password
Public bug reported: I think this might be a duplicate of https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lightdm/+bug/1870803 however, I can't find out to add my machine information to it. A little more information I can add - not sure if it's the same for original reporter - when I first log into my account I get some sort of notification about gnome-screensaver not being enabled because gnome isn't installed; or something to that effect. This started upon upgrade to Focal. TLDR: If I lock my account using the gnome-menu, then press ctrl+alt+F7, it immediately goes to my session without needing to type a password, bypassing all security. The behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible). [Bug 1870736] Re: [nvidia] Screen scaling 125% gives 200%
I have a Dell u3219q 32" and Dell p4317q with this issue. I'm trying to set 150% on the 32" and 125% on the 43", but it just goes to 200% and or goes blank. And things reset after every reboot, i.e. scaling goes wrong, monitor positioning changes, etc. My workaround is to set fractional scaling on and 200% on both monitors, then go to the nvidia settings -> xserver display configuration -> advanced... and set the following: 32" ViewPortIn 5120x2880 ViewPortOut 3840x2160+0+0 Panning: 5120x2880 43" ViewPortIn 5760x3240 ViewPortOut 3800x2137+20+11 (or just 3840x2160+0+0 if you don't need underscan) Panning: 5760x3240 This gets the scaling as near as possible, but it resets after every reboot even if you save it in the /etc/X11/xorg.conf. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1870736 Title: [nvidia] Screen scaling 125% gives 200% To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-control-center/+bug/1870736/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
