[Bug 1902969] Re: desktop freezes when changing thundebird win decorations
Also... Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It sounds like some part of the system has crashed. To help us find the cause of the crash please follow these steps: 1. Look in /var/crash for crash files and if found run: ubuntu-bug YOURFILE.crash Then tell us the ID of the newly-created bug. 2. If step 1 failed then look at https://errors.ubuntu.com/user/ID where ID is the content of file /var/lib/whoopsie/whoopsie-id on the machine. Do you find any links to recent problems on that page? If so then please send the links to us. 3. If step 2 also failed then apply the workaround from bug 994921, reboot, reproduce the crash, and retry step 1. Please take care to avoid attaching .crash files to bugs as we are unable to process them as file attachments. It would also be a security risk for yourself. ** Changed in: gnome-shell (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1902969 Title: desktop freezes when changing thundebird win decorations To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1902969/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1902918] Re: GDM crashes after upgrade to 20.10 due to apparmor and snap
Thanks for your hints on how to get the crash logs. My laptop crashed a few more times this morning so I had sufficient opportunity to get logs. Unfortunately Ubuntu is not creating any logs under "/var/crash" neither online (step 2) when this issue occurs (I can however see other log files so generally it works). As you pointed out in step 3 I commented out the related line in my "/etc/apport/crashdb.conf" file but it is still not logging anything there. If you could point me to other log files in addition to the dmesg and journalctl which I posted in the ticket I am happy to add them. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1902918 Title: GDM crashes after upgrade to 20.10 due to apparmor and snap To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1902918/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1902749] Re: [amdgpu] Log in screen flashes on and off until I log in
Thanks for the reply! I tried your steps: - When using wayland, the flashing also doesn't occur on the desktop - Kernel 5.4.0-52 doesn't boot at all - Kernel 5.8.4 does boot, but the flashing is still there Editing the gdm3 config file however, did fix the flashing on the log in screen. On both the 5.8 and 5.9 kernel edit: it seems the config file didn't work 100% as some of the times the log in screen still flashes. [Bug 1902918] Re: GDM crashes after upgrade to 20.10 due to apparmor and snap
** Changed in: gnome-shell (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete ** Tags added: groovy -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1902918 Title: GDM crashes after upgrade to 20.10 due to apparmor and snap To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1902918/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 1073823] Re: Shotwell does not link movies to events when migrating existing collection
We are in 2020, and guess what? The movies still do not get categorized based on their creation date to the events. This is still just like the initial problem. [Bug 1902918] [NEW] GDM crashes after upgrade to 20.10 due to apparmor and snap
You have been subscribed to a public bug: Releases: - Ubuntu 20.10 running Wayland - apparmor 3.0.0-0ubuntu1 Error description: After upgrading from Ubuntu 20.04 to 20.10 my GDM crashes regularly even without user interaction when the computer is left unused. After the crash the purple login screen shows and all open programs have been terminated (and unsaved data is lost). dmesg reveals that the issue is related to the "Ubuntu Software" Snap application in conjunction with apparmor. Probably the issue occurs when Ubuntu Software app is checking for updates in the background - hence it occurs without user interaction. Further information: The issue has also been described by other users: - https://askubuntu.com/questions/1230654/ubuntu-20-04-rebooting-and-freezing - https://www.dell.com/community/XPS/Ubuntu-20-04-XPS-13-crashes-and-logs-me-out/td-p/7623758 I attached the dmesg output Best regards, Daniel ** Affects: gnome-shell (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: apparmor gdm ubuntu-software -- GDM crashes after upgrade to 20.10 due to apparmor and snap https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1902918 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1899206] Re: Tweaktool Keyboard “Additional Layout Options” not persisting on USB keyboard unplug/reconnect
