[Bug 1907207] [NEW] gedit file name saves file with same name always
Public bug reported: hi i open gedit, write something, save, a dialog box appears with 'untitled document 1' as suggested filename. i save by pressing enter. i repeat, and dialog box again says 'untitled document 1' in place of looking into the save folder, counting files with similar names and putting the next number 2 in place of 1. so i believe this is systemically built so in gnome for all data saving files and it is very normal. any suggestions? thanks! akash ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 20.10 Package: gedit 3.38.0-1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 5.8.0-31.33-generic 5.8.17 Uname: Linux 5.8.0-31-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.20.11-0ubuntu50.2 Architecture: amd64 CasperMD5CheckResult: skip CurrentDesktop: ubuntu:GNOME Date: Tue Dec 8 13:21:17 2020 InstallationDate: Installed on 2020-11-27 (10 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 20.10 "Groovy Gorilla" - Release amd64 (20201022) SourcePackage: gedit UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) mtime.conffile..etc.apport.crashdb.conf: 2020-11-29T18:35:36.913752 ** Affects: gedit (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug groovy -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gedit in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1907207 Title: gedit file name saves file with same name always To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gedit/+bug/1907207/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
