I'm not sure what the conditions are for that screen showing or failing
to show (usually the latter in my experience), but your journal.txt
says:

Dec 08 09:46:19 robot gnome-shell[1637760]: Error in freeze/thaw accounting
Dec 08 09:46:19 robot gnome-shell[1637760]: GNOME Shell crashed with signal 5

so that's bug 1897765.

[Bug 1906977] Re: moving cursor over dock causes old window to appear

2020-12-08 Thread Stephen Lawrence
Sorry, not sure whether this is nautilus or desktop :-\

** Description changed:

- Steps:
+ More generally, desktop mis-displays
+
+ 3 Variations:
+
+ a)
  0) open a window/app
  1) minimise a window/application, causing Desktop to be visible
  2) move cursor to dock (to open new app)

As soon as cursor hits dock, the graphic of the minimised window
(graphic that would be shown by activating "Activities") appears. It can
be cleared by sweeping a window over the desktop. It only happens once,
once for every time you minimise a window.

+ b) Click "Acivities" - then click again to restore view
+ As soon as cursor hits dock, desktop goes corrupt (large parts blank out)
+
+ c) Close window
+ As b)

[Bug 1881197] Re: No network usage info presented, always 0 bytes/s.

2020-12-08 Thread Brian Murray
Hello Matheus, or anyone else affected,

Accepted gnome-system-monitor into focal-proposed. The package will
build now and be available at https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source
/gnome-system-monitor/3.36.1-0ubuntu0.20.04.1 in a few hours, and then
in the -proposed repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation on how
to enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this
update out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug,
mentioning the version of the package you tested, what testing has been
performed on the package and change the tag from verification-needed-
focal to verification-done-focal. If it does not fix the bug for you,
please add a comment stating that, and change the tag to verification-
failed-focal. In either case, without details of your testing we will
not be able to proceed.

Further information regarding the verification process can be found at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification . Thank you in
advance for helping!

N.B. The updated package will be released to -updates after the bug(s)
fixed by this package have been verified and the package has been in
-proposed for a minimum of 7 days.

[Bug 1907239] [NEW] Oh no! Something has gone wrong

2020-12-08 Thread Alan Pope 🍺🐧🐱 🦄
Public bug reported:

I got the "Oh no!" screen.

The likely trigger was when I was playing a game and took a screenshot -
where the environment is likely hard to reproduce because the game I'm
playing that triggered the scenario isn't out yet. It can be built tho.

1) git clone https://github.com/mcphail/boa
2) git checkout core18
3) snapcraft --use-lxd
(wait a while, it's a monster snap)
4) snap install boa*.snap --dangerous
5) snap run boa
(wait for game to load to title screen)
6) press ALT+PrintScreen to get a screenshot

GNOME crashed at this point, giving me the "Oh no!" screen.

[Bug 1907227] [NEW] Still no print from evolution 3.38.1-1

2020-12-08 Thread ktkraemer
Public bug reported:

Since I updated to 3.38.1-1 I can't print emails anymore.
I can open the print window an select my printer.

Drucken ist fehlgeschlagen. Die Meldung des Druckers war »Drucker nicht
gefunden«.
Printing failed. The printer's message was" Printer not found ".

To print from other application works.
Print emails out of evolution (3.36.4-0unbutu1) from my Notebook also works.

Printer is an HP mfp-M477fdn working in my network at
hp:/net/HP_...?ip=192.168.1.11
Ubuntu 20.10 is up to date
Kernel 5.8.0-31-generic
Gnome 3.38.1 (X11 windowmanager)

Best regardes
Kai Krämer

[Bug 1907207] [NEW] gedit file name saves file with same name always

2020-12-08 Thread akash rao
Public bug reported:

hi

i open gedit, write something, save, a dialog box appears with 'untitled
document 1' as suggested filename. i save by pressing enter.

i repeat, and dialog box again says 'untitled document 1' in place of
looking into the save folder, counting files with similar names and
putting the next number 2 in place of 1.

so i believe this is systemically built so in gnome for all data saving
files and it is very normal. any suggestions?

thanks!

akash
