If you install gnome-settings-daemon 42.1-1ubuntu2.1 from jammy-

is not sufficient.

Marking this bug as a duplicate in the meantime.

[Bug 1973425] [NEW] 22.04 file chooser automatically resizing in snap apps

2022-05-14 Thread Matthew Gallagher
Public bug reported:

The open and save file dialog popup in Firefox or Brave enlarge
themselves in approximately 1 second intervals until they take up the
entire screen and do not respond correctly to input, with the window
automatically reopening. It is possible to close the misbehaving app
from the dock. Setting org.gtk.gtk4.Settings.FileChooser window-size to
(-1, -1) only loops back to a new file chooser dialog being the correct
size for the first second. Deb/apt pacakged apps like Evince don't have
this issue, same for snaps using Qt (VLC). It is possible that I
unplugged a docking station while a dialog was open.

[Bug 1973393] Re: auto go to left or first page

2022-05-14 Thread Chris Guiver
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better.

The Brave browser is a 3rd party browser, and problems with that browser
should be reported to the developers of the application.

You mention the Ubuntu workspace, but which you like mean `gnome-shell`.
If it's occurring in other application besides the 3rd party brave-
browser it's not clear to me sorry.

I've marked this incomplete due to issue being with 3rd party package.
If the issue occurs within GNOME-SHELL or other windows and not just the
brave-browser; please return the status to "New" and change the package
to 'gnome-shell'.

Bug reporting is about finding & fixing problems thus preventing future
users from hitting the same bug.

I suspect a Support site would be more appropriate in future, eg.
https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu. You can also find help with your
problem in the support forum of your local Ubuntu community
http://loco.ubuntu.com/ or asking at https://askubuntu.com or
https://ubuntuforums.org, or for more support options please look at
https://discourse.ubuntu.com/t/community-support/709

[Bug 1971636] Re: el programa ubuntu software tarda demasiado en buscar apps

2022-05-14 Thread Paul White
** Description changed:

+
+ Google translation:
+
+ the ubuntu software program takes too long to search for apps and so on, it
is very slow compared to the snapcraft web page, which one gives you to search
and load, that is how it happens in other apps that require searching for
packages, I have to enter from the web to download an application fast..
+ It is a mistake that needs to be corrected.
+
+ and snaps packages need to be improved, they need to improve the speed
+ with which they open and compile, improve both snaps to be better than
+ .exe and .msi. make the process of developing apps in linux easier. make
+ it easier than windows and android. for developers and common people to
+ migrate to linux, linux GUI is very good but what kills it is packet
+ fragmentation. that's what needs to be improved and canonical has the
+ power to do it: Snap a universal package for all linux, better than
+ windows...

Google translation:

the ubuntu software program takes too long to search for apps and so on, it is
very slow compared to the snapcraft web page, which one gives you to search and
load, that is how it happens in other apps that require searching for packages,
I have to enter from the web to download an application fast..
It is a mistake that needs to be corrected.

and snaps packages need to be improved, they need to improve the speed
with which they open and compile, improve both snaps to be better than
.exe and .msi. make the process of developing apps in linux easier. make
it easier than windows and android. for developers and common people to
migrate to linux, linux GUI is very good but what kills it is packet
fragmentation. that's what needs to be improved and canonical has the
power to do it: Snap a universal package for all linux, better than

[Bug 1973264] [NEW] when switching to another workspace, focus is lost

2022-05-14 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

Good morning,

Since upgrading to 22.04 there is an annoying bug when switching to
another workspace. After the switch to one of the other workspaces, the
desktop has the focus, instead of an application window. Until now, the
window that most recently had focus on that workspace, would get the
focus again, which I would consider normal behaviour.

This bug leads to confusing (sometimes funny) situations, like

- me switching to another WS
- press ctrl A to select all text in the window I assume is active
- nothing seems to happen, but (not visible for me) everything on the desktop
is selected
- better not press Del now :)

Best,

Joolz.

P.S. I hope I filed this in the right section, not sure which framework
causes this

[Bug 1973397] [NEW] Ubuntu 22.04: Display manager resets when trying to change it using gear icon in login window

2022-05-14 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

I would like to select wayland display manager on login screen. But when
I click on the gear icon in login screen, screen resets to terminal view
for a few seconds and black login screen is displayed. There is no more
gear icon, I enter login info and can log into the session. But the
activated display manager is X.org.

Must I wait for some fixes, in order to be able to list different
display managers in login window (the rest on gear icon is normal), or
can I configure the system somehow in order to enable change of display
managers?

less /etc/gdm3/custom.conf
...
[daemon]
# Uncomment the line below to force the login screen to use Xorg
#WaylandEnable=false
WaylandEnable=true
...

echo $XDG_SESSION_TYPE
