[Bug 1975884] Re: Temporary screen freeze on gnome screen lock (wayland, ubuntu 22.04 jammy)
Thanks for the bug report. I can see from the attached files that you have a lot of unsupported extensions enabled and at least some of them are buggy according to the log messages. The first thing to try is always to REMOVE ALL unsupported extensions and then log in again. Please run: cd ~/.local/share/gnome-shell rm -rf extensions gsettings set org.gnome.shell enabled-extensions "[]" gsettings set org.gnome.shell disabled-extensions "[]" and then log in again. If the freeze persists after that then next time it happens please: 1. Wait 10 seconds. 2. Reboot. 3. Run: journalctl -b-1 > prevboot.txt 4. Attach the resulting text file here. ** Package changed: gnome-shell (Ubuntu) => ubuntu ** Changed in: ubuntu Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1975884 Title: Temporary screen freeze on gnome screen lock (wayland, ubuntu 22.04 jammy) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1975884/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 1975890] [NEW] mp4 video gets stuck in a frame, like it's paused
Public bug reported: The video stops playing at a certain random frame, like it's been paused. You can drag the range control and move forwards and backwards and the frame will change as expected, but toggling play/pause does nothing. I can only reproduce this on Ubuntu 22.04. On Debian 11 it works as expected. [Bug 1975872] [NEW] Screen flickering on external monitor (laptop)
You have been subscribed to a public bug: External screen flickers on and off (image is present and then signal is lost, flickering is random, but very often, ~3 times in 10 seconds) on a fresh installation. Details: - I'm using a laptop (ASUS GL552VW) with external monitor connected via HDMI. The HDMI port is connected to my iGPU, Intel HD 530 (there is no way to make that HDMI work with NVIDIA GTX 960M in my laptop). - Nothing was installed after installing the OS - i connected to the Internet while installing the system and marked the option to download the updates. - I had that issue on Windows 10 - I fixed it by installing a latest Intel GPU driver from laptop manufacturer's (ASUS) site, uninstalling drivers installed by Windows - they were the latest Intel drivers. - Internal screen works fine. - If I mirror external and internal monitor, external isn't flickering, but internal monitor's resolution is lower that external's one. [Bug 1968887] Re: Save As Dialog Box does not get focus in Ubuntu 22.04
Same problem here with google-chrome-stable 101.0.4951.64-1 and firefox (snap) 100.0.2-1 I'm using ubuntu 22.04, cinnamon 5.2.7-4, mutter 42.0-3ubuntu2. Which is even more annoying: When I change the directory, sometimes the file is not saved at all. This is repoducible for some directories, ohters work. No rule found up to now This makes the save dialogue fairly unusable. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1968887 Title: Save As Dialog Box does not get focus in Ubuntu 22.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1968887/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1948410] Re: [nvidia] Software cursor in Wayland sessions (EGLStreams)
** Description changed: Impact -- In the Wayland session with older Nvidia graphics (usually nvidia driver 470), a software cursor is used instead of a hardware cursor. This causes worse performance with unnecessary updates of the display. Test Case - - To see it just add this to /etc/environment: - MUTTER_DEBUG_FORCE_EGL_STREAM=1 - CLUTTER_PAINT=damage-region + 1. Set up an Nvidia-only desktop. No other GPUs active. Driver version + must be 470 or higher. - and reboot. + 2. Add this to /etc/environment: + + MUTTER_DEBUG_FORCE_EGL_STREAM=1 + CLUTTER_PAINT=damage-region + + 3. Reboot. + + 4. Log into 'Ubuntu on Wayland'. + + Observed: The red and blue boxes from the above debugging option follow + the mouse cursor. + + Expected: No red and blue boxes follow the mouse cursor.
