Public bug reported:
When using the Files navigator, it sometimes freezes. When I right click
with my mouse anywhere the menu that pops up has a lot of lag. All of
this happened after the update from 22.04 to 22.10
ProblemType: Bug
DistroRelease: Ubuntu 22.10
Package: nautilus 1:43.0-1ubuntu1
Resetting Tracker3 (the file indexing daemon) seems to have done the
trick for me. I'd need a couple days to confirm that the issue is 100%
gone, but there's definetely something wrong with Tracker3, my data,
and/or the new version of Nautilus in Ubuntu 22.10:
tracker3 reset --filesystem
I have the same problem on a tower pc where I installed days ago ubunt 20.04
and then upgraded it to 22.04. This issue happened after some hour I left the
pc powered on with the monitor halted. When I returned for use it, I was able
to write the password to unlock the screen and press enter but
I can confirm this bug. In my case Nautilus automatically freezes if I
use the search in Nautilus or if I search for files in overview. I
haven’t been able to catch the output or why it freezes. I have upgraded
from 22.04 and previously from 21.10. As a heavy user of Nautilus for my
work this is a
Same issue with evince 43.0-1 and apparmor 3.0.7-1ubuntu2 on cinnamon

The apparmor workaround provided by Karsten has to be updated :
Inside '/etc/apparmor.d/usr.bin.evince', add following line after the
line containing 'thunar' :

Unfortunately I do not know the answer. It's been a while since I stopped
using ubuntu on raspberrypi and i went back to using the official system
for the device and since then I haven't changed system anymore. Also, for
other personal interests I haven't used raspberrypi so often lately.
