Only remedy is to reboot. It's a fully reproducible freeze not random. I tested with various .docx file and one specifically made for that and issue is the same. Re: [Bug 2017528] Re: windows don't accept mouse input
Hi Daniel, attached the settings file. There was 2 extensions: ~/.local/share/gnome-shell/extensions$ ls desaturate_all gnomebedt...@ionutbortis.gmail.com I removed them, we will see if issue comes back. This morning I got 3 or 4 freezes lasting 30 secs then stopping: they froze the machine completely and nothing shown in system monitor, nor in htop as both got frozen too. Will note the exact times issue occurs next time if any and look into the logs. Regards On Tue, 2023-04-25 at 04:45 +, Daniel van Vugt wrote: > Thanks for the bug report. > > Please: > > 1. [Bug 1449112] Re: can't move files to trash without any owner/permission issues
Happens the same to me. I have two symlinks to two specific folders on my NTFS partition, that has all my personal files and data (Dual-Boot PC). When I access to this folders via Home Folder using symlink folder and try to delete some file that is inside this, the next message appears ... can't be put in the trash. Do you want to delete it immediately?. Not happening the same when I acces via Data partition to the folder. By the way, I had observed that this weird behavior only appears to happens on the symlinked folder, and not on the folders that can be contained inside of it. If, after accessing via Home Folder to you symlinked folder, you create any new file and a new folder, put this file on the folder, and try to delete this last one, no problem occurs. But if you try the same with any file inside symlinked folder, the message appears. I do not know how to explain it well, but what I try to said is that there is no problem at all in folders contained (and the files this folders contain) inside symlinked folder. The problem is with files contained inside symlinked folder. IE: if my symlink folder is /media/user/Personal Files, any file contained in Personal Files will have problem if accesing via Home Folder. But no problems at all will occur with files contained in /media/user/Personal Files/Music. [Bug 1007873] Re: Nautilus should have Up, Home and Reload buttons in the toolbar
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 885592 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/885592 Just my opinion: The 'up' button is one single-click and very convenient, for me more convenient than 'previous' and 'next'. [Bug 861272] Re: No easy way to configure default monitor (regression)
Hello, Thanks for having registered the bug. However, please note that even using the technique you propose (that sounds simple), it is actually very complex ! Yet, i don't think that my gnome configuration is odd, i don't use to hack this part of my system. There is no anchor to drag and drop the top panel, and when trying to drag it, it looks to be locked. There is no button to unlock it, even when right clicking to the panel (at least in my locale). The only way i found to move it was to right click on the bar = Properties = Uncheck the Extend box, then it is draggable so drag it, then recheck the Extend box. Of course, i had to do that for both top and down panels. I hope that you understand how far it is unergonomic. [Bug 861272] [NEW] No easy way to configure default monitor (regression)
Public bug reported: Whenever a new monitor is plugged, the desktop may switch to an inappropriate screen. System settings should permit to change the default monitor, but they don't. The gnome-display-properties tool (or its equivalent) has regressed from its Hardy version, which permitted to set the default monitor. While the current one, provided by default in the gnome-control-center package, has much less features. This is a very bug for normal users which shouldn't have to: - Install a third party package to do this very basic operation - Rely on drivers and tools of their graphic card, which might not provide a specific tool to handle multi-screen or other basic features - Hack their xorg configuration, as it is proposed in these kind of tutorials [http://doc.ubuntu-fr.org/multi-ecran] (i haven't check on ubuntu.com, but i'm sure it is exactly the same) Note that this bug should be considered as important because Ubuntu people often argue that their system is usable by human beings, and then because the tested distribution is an up to date 10.4 LTS (so still supported). ** Affects: gnome-control-center (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: interface -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-control-center in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/861272 Title: No easy way to configure default monitor (regression) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-control-center/+bug/861272/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
