In Totem and VLC the video playback is not fluent at all. It looks like
the video play on way too low framerates. It makes looking video

I use compiz normally, but the problem is also there when _not_ using compiz or

Bug in gnome-power-manager? acpi never tells the battery is discharging,
although it nows the ac adapter is off line, sure there's something
wrong there, isn't it?
Anyway, I attach all information below. All is done with the ac-adapter
unplugged, except lshal, which I run on battery, plugged in

The gnome power manager tray icon now shows the battery icon, and if I
move the mouse over, it says Computer uses battery power. Laptop battery
1h 30min remaining (58%). Battery discharging time is estimate. By the
way, if in gpm preferences I select to only show the tray icon

I have tried installing Jaunty's g-p-m and that one will work as in

Sorted the problem at my EEE PC S101...
sudo chmod +r /var/log/btmp
Now I dont get any more error messages about btmp when opening system
log.

Trying to burn a specific selection of files, Brasero crashes without any error
report.
The audio files (2 .wav, 1 mp3) play without any problems.

I can confirm this bug on a fresh install of 14.04. I am unable to
import my keys as a result. My solution was to generate new keys for my
remote servers, but next time I hope to export/import. This bug prevents
that for the time being.
