I have found that I needed to run gconftool -u
/apps/metacity/global_keybindings/run_command_terminal then restart the
session for the updated keybinding - ControlAltT to stick. Before running
this command, ALTT still opened a terminal window
This is with metacity (1:2.28.1-0ubuntu4) installed.
